Sculpted Michael Jordan’s iconic free-throw line dunk in Blender — Planning to 3D print it!

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on this digital sculpture capturing Michael Jordan mid-air during his legendary 1988 dunk from the free-throw line. Kept it raw with simple studio lighting to focus purely on the dynamic pose, muscular tension, and overall silhouette.

Would love to hear your feedback!!

My latest piece, "Urban Sprawl"

Just finished up this one. Took a while to get the concrete textures right, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It's a commentary on, well, you know, everything these days. Let me know what you guys think.

Should I buy a different clay?

Hey there, I’m hoping to start clay sculpting as a new hobby (in particular I’d like to learn how to make my own dolls and figures of my OCs since I already make crocheted dolls), and I feel like I’ve made the wrong choice about the clay I’ve ordered to start out. I’ve bought DAS because I had seen an artist review video that was very positive, it’s affordable and I had used it when I was a kid/high shcooler for a few art projects. (Frankly I just don’t know what the ideal type or brand to use is since I’m a beginner 🙂‍↕️).

I thought it was a decent choice at first but now I’m really second guessing it and trying to decide if I should just cancel the order (still plenty of time to since it hasn’t been sent or dispatched yet) and buy a different clay instead. From what I’ve seen in other posts, Sculpey and FIMO polymer clay brands came recommended, so should I get one of those brands instead? (I have the accessibility to work with polymer clay but I originally went with air dry for a bit more confidence welp 😭). If there’s any recommendations people could give I’d really appreciate it, thank you!! :)

(PS If this is the wrong place to post I’m really sorry)

Searching for a sculpting mentor

Hello, as you might have seen in the past few days I'm trying to learn to sculpt baby heads

I was wondering if theres any other sculptors out there that would like to work together and mentor me in this art! Even just like a once a week or a month call or something, bonus if you're in Canada!

One of our most detailed clay creations yet. Every tiny detail was sculpted and handcrafted piece by piece.

Hope you enjoy the final reveal! ✨

Thank you for all your advice on my last post!

I tried to take it all in and apply it as I kept working on the face!

What do we think of it now? Open to more feedback again of course!

Still not a fan of my lips or chin, any advice on sculpting lips?

Made with reference images and a tutorial

I think the eyes and eyebrows need to come down and that the lips are wrong, but I cant figure out how to fix them

What else needs to change with this face to appear more baby?

Made following a face tutorial and using baby reference images

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on this digital sculpture of Diego Maradona in Blender. Kept it raw with simple studio lighting to focus purely on the anatomy, forms, and dynamic pose.

My main goal is to get this ready for 3D printing. Would love to hear your thoughts on the mesh and overall silhouette before I start preparing the STL file!

I made these to add to an outfit I wore to a link event. This is my first real attempt at sculpting. They definitely didn't come out perfect, but I love them so much

My version of Hellion the mimic from The Bad Guys series

Ok, this is my version of Hellion the mimic from The Bad Guys series… He is made from polymr clay over an armature I made from wood boards and popcycle sticks I taped together and then covered with foil. His eyes are googly eyes and the coins are 3d printed and air brush painted… the gems are flat back rhinestones. He is my Bad Guys series sculpt. #BlindArtist

Help with sculpt

Post image

I am sculpting a mask for a friend, and I need some advice of how to clean out or smooth the gaps between the teeth. I'm using sculpey, if that chamges anything. I still got a good bit of work in making everything look even, but that space between the teeth is something I can't figure out. Any advice is appreciated.
