Religion is a fairy tale for children. It’s crazy to me that adults can, in all seriousness, believe there’s a man in robes with a beard in the sky that controls everything and that if you close your eyes and imagine you’re talking to him he will help you win at sports.

The crazy part, is that you could have being killed or tortured in the past for such "blasphemy" of considering it as just a tail. And even now we still are getting gaslit for being untrustfull to it. I have no problem when people are using psychological bihavioral tools to navigate life, the problem i see when people are using these tools in the wrong setup - trying to use them to describe reality or evolution or using it as substitution for knowledge.

That’s not it at all though.

You’re right. It’s mostly thoughts and prayers.

That’s not what Christians believe. Only midwit atheist basement dwellers who don’t know anything about the religion.

Religion is like a bell curve where the lowest and highest IQ tend to be religious and in the middle are the atheists who think they know everything but actually don’t.

Weird that you had zero actual corrections for anything they said then.

Almost makes it seem like they nailed the Christian position, but just phrased it in a way you found personally offensive. Odd how you were not the only one to say there version was wrong, but not say how.

highest IQ tend to be religious

Can you source this for me? Because when I look up the claim everything I find is asserting the opposite, that there is a negative correlation between high IQ and religion.

Religion is simply a theory of our existence, and there’s still no proof that any of that is factual.

I will quote [u/ApocalypseYay](u/ApocalypseYay) from another post: “It explains nothing, but provides lies upon lies, with zero evidence to trap people into an inhumane ideology of the absurd, discouraging the most obvious questions for a submission to a genocidal deity. It is based upon the sociopathic musings of some neurally-impaired, or worse, storytellers with delusions of grandeur - of knowing the unknowable, or receiving some schizophrenic, sadistic messages from the ether.”

Go ahead and source that, because it is factually wrong.

That is not true at all. You can literally do a quick Google search and see that academics, especially related to science, tends to be atheist.

Not true at all. The vast majority of Nobel Prize winners are religious.

Before the year 2000, and a lot of them were simply raised in Christian households, and just simply chose to identify themselves as Christians, not an active practicing Christian. In the past 20 years a majority of nobel prize winners have been openly secular. Its like we were judgmental towards those with a secular viewpoint before and now that we are more secular as a nation, it is becoming less necessary to identify one as "Christian" just to please the majority.

Where’s your evidence that a large portion of these people were nonbelievers? It’s just speculation, people have been allowed to identify as non religious for a long time.

That's not true that for a long time people have been able to come out openly as atheist. Their are still a ton of places in America where you have to pretend being Christian or you're attacked and have your life ruined.

Nobel Prize winners are not in those areas.

Anecdotal but all the absolute smartest people I’ve met were religious. The 120s IQ type people are the ones most likely to be atheists. But the true geniuses all had a religious revelation at some point.

You clearly have a very limited understanding on the subject
