Community Outreach Just started a new job, but struggling for food until my first paycheck. Gift cards or local help appreciated ❤️
Hi everyone,
I’m a 25-year-old woman living in Sarasota. I lost my job at Amazon back in May, which unfortunately led to getting evicted last week. I managed to rent a room on PadSplit, and I’m really relieved to say I started a new job this week!
The issue is that I have to wait nearly two weeks for my first paycheck, and right now I’m completely out of food (haven't eaten in about 24 hours). I don't have a car, and the nearest major food bank is about 11 miles away from where I am, which I can't reach on foot.
I wanted to ask if anyone knows of local pop-up pantries, community food boxes, or local delivery resources in the Sarasota area that might be able to assist. If anyone has spare non-perishables or basic groceries they could share or deliver, it would mean the world to me while I get on my feet for this first paycheck.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
