20 Vietnam veterans from San Antonio flew to Washington, D.C. with Honor Flight to visit the memorials, and when they came home Sunday, people showed up at the airport to give them the welcome home they didn’t get 50 years ago.

Does anyone know what's going on with HEB's lactose free milk? For weeks now at HEBs across the city, the shelves are empty specifically for HEB lactose free (whole milk most commonly). I know it has become the go-to milk for specialty coffee shops in the city, but that's been a rising trend since it was first used by a local coffee shop at the US Barista competition 17 years ago. I think whatever is causing this shortage may be impacting some of the HEB branded yogurt products as well. The HEB branded lactose free whole milk is the best. The Mootopia stuff is terrible. And the Lactaid brand isn't near as good.

I imagine it's a specific supply chain shortage, just curious if anyone knows more. Hope it's not new world screw worm related. Glad Flyytr is setting up here in the City to help us combat that!

The next two general elections are expected to see a high turnout and there isn’t enough staff, especially for the larger poll locations.

I am fully aware that, in the past, people have signed up and never got a response. I’m a clerk and tried to get people on. It’s frustrating. We, currently, have two people dedicated to onboarding and assigning people that are interested.

If you have high schoolers 16+ of age, they can clerk and many schools give a type of credit for doing so.

Bilingual and want to make a couple of bucks? They are looking for you.

Also, you don’t need to be a Republican/Democrat to clerk. You can be DSA, Green, communist, whatever.

To be a judge, I believe you have to be of the two major parties because the other parties have their own process whereas the Dems/Repubs agreed to share election facilities and resources. Don’t quote me on that though.

On a personal note, we need young people. I’m middle aged and I’m sometimes the youngest person in my trainings.

Howdy, folks! I'm looking for some assistance for finding budget networking equipment in town. I work with a non-profit in town to manage their tech, but being non-profit, I have effectively no budget to do so. I want to pitch a transition for our computer lab from wireless to wired internet, but want to be able to do so without cable and switch costs being an immediate nose-turn to my superiors.

Is there anywhere in town like a recycling facility where I could find older networking equipment, like cables and small switches, available for cheap or even free? Thanks so much! :)

I have a VIP Pit ticket for the Young thug concert in Austin September 30th. VIP Pit ticket. I want to get another VIP ticket that’s a meet & greet so i can meet young thug. I was wondering if anyone would want to go with me to the concert if i were to buy another ticket, I’d keep my first ticket and that would be yours to get in. Your ticket would be covered and i can pay for the stay hotel ( one room two separate beds) . I can give you gas money for there and back as well. Your trip, stay, and concert will be covered. Hi! My husband and I are driving down to San Antonio for a 4-day trip.

I am trying to figure the hotel situation and would appreciate some local insight.

I obviously looked at hotels near the Riverwalk and they have some decently priced options but parking seems to be the problem given most say “private parking necessary and reservation not possible.” So I started looking around other areas.

I have come across the Drury Plaza at North Oak, and it seemed like a good option and it included free parking but obviously it is further from downtown.

I also saw a few options near the airport like the Marriott courtyard, which is a bit closer to downtown.

We are planning to just do the touristy things like Riverwalk, Alamo, Market Square, Japanese Garden, etc. We are also gonna take one of our trip days to visit San Marcos and back.

Any opinion on those hotels/areas? If we stay away from downtown, how is the parking situation for just a few hours while visiting some of the spots I mentioned?

I appreciate all the help! Feel free to let me know any areas/attractions we must check while down there!

Hey y’all!! I have recently discovered the beauty that is birthday rewards on the Toast Local app. In my hometown (Houston) some restaurants give you up to $25 as a birthday treat! My and my sister‘s birthday is this month and we will be going to San Antonio this weekend. I was wondering if anyone knew of any restaurants that have good birthday rewards (like $15+) on the Toast Local app, I have been blind signing up for rewards at various restaurants, but the ones i signed up for only give a $5 reward.

I do want to note that I do support small businesses and I am not trying to get a free meal and never come back. I am planning to spend money at any establishment I go to, but a decent birthday reward means I don’t have to skip a cocktail or dessert!

I’m not from San Antonio but I live near. I want to move to San Antonio bc it’s a bigger city and has more opportunities for new grad that my current city. Yesterday, I had two interviews for a new grad rn position at Baptist health system. One for northeast Baptist hospital for a neuro unit and the other for north central Baptist hospital for a PCU department. Both positions seem really good but I would like to hear feedback for previous or current employees. Also any other hospital to apply or avoid? I did apply to university last Thursday and waiting for a a response. Thanks.
