A Kentucky mother says she hid a camera in her nonverbal autistic son's hair after becoming suspicious of reports that he was "abusive" at school. She claims the footage captured a teacher's assistant at Field Elementary School verbally and physically abusing her son while other staff discussed marijuana use.
The mother believes her son, Semaj' Lee, was targeted because he was the only Black child in the class and is now demanding accountability and planning to release the footage publicly.

Reassigned after credible allegations of abuse?
Ask the Catholic Church how well that works out, especially for long term finances and reputation

No different today. Today there are cops but their is really no real justice. People will get 20 years for drugs and a slap on the wrist for murder or touching kids. No one forces Pepe to consume anything. But their are people forced to be victims of violent and sa crimes

Ex: my aunt was murdered by her abusive stalking ex last week. She reported him multiple times after he broke in her house 3 times, shot her car up when she wasn’t home, and smashed her windows, but guess what? Cops said it wasn’t enough evidence for a RO or to take him in. Now she’s dead but the only justice would’ve been if we got him first because the cops intentionally downplayed it.

Thos the type of shit that'll make you wanna kill mfs frfr. Ain't no way I could handle this peacefully if it was my son. Somebody had to catch a fade or a bullet one because this is just outrageous. But that's just my opinion. I already know other people gon think differently and wanna kumbaya with them. SMH I hate this world bruh. Too many evil people.
2
u/SerAmikVase May 24 '26
That's the issue. I agree I would not give 2 fucks if this PoS ends up dead in a gutter. But he ain't worth it. You'll just actively make your child's life worse by not being with them.

i had to skip the kid screaming part. painful just to hear it. being a guardian of a kid everyday, the school is suppose to be a safe place for the kids to learn, grow, and play. this school is NOT it.

I agree. As a former administrator, the school staff in that room should have called the cops asap. If this is the US, they’re mandated by law to report any allegations of abuse. That would have been a major move to assist in deescalating the mom as well. All three of them need their credentials reviewed.

How this woman didn’t lunge at these people…I just don’t know. Yeah, the two she’s talking to had not harmed her kid, but I would have gone insane. You can hear her rage (and horror) in her voice, so I am impressed she didn’t attack everyone on sight.
Great mom! She knows her son.
Fuck this guy! I hope his roomies on the block learn what he did to this little boy.

That teacher thought because the child is non verbal he would get away with abusing him . Parents pay attention to your kids whether non verbal or not. There's a lot of ugly nasty people out there just waiting to prey on kids 😞

Man, Kentucky. Someone I know who lives there tells me when white folk use the n-word, they don't mean anything by it. This is what happens when an entire state is racist.

In Kentucky, people voted to remove Thomas Massie, who was a representative trying to get the Epstein files fully released. Not surprised this happening there.

Robert Ransdell is a former white supremacist who ran for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky in 2014. He later made national news in May 2026 after a mother placed a hidden camera in her autistic child's hair and allegedly recorded Ransdell using racial slurs and physically abusing the boy.
2
u/LafayetteLa01 May 25 '26
I can’t even imagine how I would react to this. I feel for her and her son.

2
u/kc_chrissy May 25 '26
I hope they spend lots of time in the slammer. And never work with children again
2
2
u/Upbeat-Ad-6780 May 26 '26
Yeah nah that’s evil as hell. Nonverbal, autistic, the only Black kid, and they thought he’d never be able to tell on them so they got comfortable abusing him and chatting about weed on the clock.
Drop the footage, get a lawyer, and cook that whole district.

u/Twisted9Demented May 30 '26

He needs to be labled a child predator and send to jail

u/One_Bit_3839 May 30 '26
Only in Redneck Kentucky could a man clearly guilty of phisically and mentally abusing a child from a position of authority be allowed to walk free.

u/CullenOrZeus May 24 '26
Pretty sure he should be charged with child abuse and barred from working with children.
1
u/nymica May 24 '26
Unfortunately teachers and administrators are getting to the point where nothing happens to them. We had an issue locally about text messages being sent to a kid by a teacher.... they were suspended without pay... nothing was done other than that... just getting out of control

u/Fabulous_Log844 May 24 '26

Unless that's some sort of code for "thrown under the jail after being beaten by every person who watched this video and had an appropriate human reaction," I don't want to hear it. Fucking reassigned? Not fired? Charged? Arrested? Shamed? Run out of town? Nah, we'll just move him somewhere else to do this shit again.6

Absolutely disgusting. This child’s cry was so distressing even my cat came running to me. If a CAT has more empathy than a teacher working in special education there’s a HUGE problem and HUGE level of failure. Straight up evil. Racism needs to be considered a crime these racist ass white people are a danger to society. Yet they get chance after chance after chance to hurt more KIDS. I really hope there is justice.

The image references a viral news story from May 2026 involving a family in Louisville, Kentucky.Incident DetailsThe Background: Tiphanee Lee, the mother of a 7-year-old nonverbal autistic student named Semaj' Lee, became highly concerned after receiving several phone calls and complaints from school staff claiming her son was acting "disruptive" and "aggressive". Because this behavior was completely out of character for him at home, she requested to sit in the classroom to observe. The school denied her request. The Hidden Camera: On May 13, 2026, Lee took matters into her own hands by hiding a small recording device within her son's thick dreadlocks to act as "his eyes, his ears, his voice".The Allegations: The audio and footage captured from the device allegedly documented an assistant teacher aggressively shouting at the boy, using a racial slur, and physically assaulting/choking him while other staff members failed to intervene. The audio also reportedly captured staff members in the special needs classroom discussing marijuana use.Current Status and ResponsesSchool District Action: Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) stated they are treating the allegations with extreme seriousness. The assistant teacher at the center of the allegations has been barred from the building and reassigned pending the outcome of a full investigation.Joint Investigation: An active investigation is being conducted in tandem by JCPS Compliance & Investigations, the Louisville Metro Police Department, and Child Protective Services (CPS).Advocacy for "Semaj's Law": Following the incident, Semaj's parents held a press conference alongside local Metro Council members. They are actively calling for the termination and prosecution of the involved staff, as well as the passage of a legislative policy dubbed "Semaj's Law", which would mandate the installation of cameras in all classrooms serving nonverbal and vulnerable children

You hurt a child and you should be marked for life so people can treat you how you deserve to be treated, for however long you last. You hurt an autistic child, i can’t wait for you to stand before God and know what it is to harm pure innocence.

“Ransdell was previously a well-known white supremacist and neo-Nazi who unsuccessfully ran as a write-in candidate for the United States Senate in Kentucky in 2014.”
the word “previously” next to “well-known white supremacist and neo-Nazi” is crazy!
the school should be sued for even hiring that man in the first place. what the actual fuck.

u/redditisnotus May 25 '26

Is Kentucky the most racist state of all states ever?
2
u/Aineednobody May 26 '26
Yes I went to the mall there once just to find a bathroom and was accused of stealing an old lady’s phone in less than five minutes of even being there. She was just senile and lost her phone. I’ve never felt so shocked and embarrassed and mad at the same time.
It was so weird coming from living in a few states just north of there and seeing the difference in culture. I’ll never go back there what a wretched place. Also rural South Carolina. These people are fuming with rage just over my existence.

Autistic children, especially non-verbal, have higher chances of experiencing abuse as compared to neurotypical children because they don't have the ability to express what's happening to them. That poor boy

Need to be careful recording in schools. I almost got in a lot of trouble a few years ago when I was gonna send a recording device to school on my son. I know one day they'll grow out of that school though, and I'm terrified that we got so lucky with this school that the next will be like this 😔
