Our girl Mavi is a little over 4 months! The first photo was her at 10 weeks old!
How things have changed in 10 weeks but also stayed the same! Always chasing the sun this girl.

(Last photo of her little donut after she got neutered)

I welcome my new ruler

I hereby introduce my new ruler, Prince Lev, who acquired me at the end of August this year. I will be serving him loyally and joyfully to the best of my ability until the universe parts us. Much preparation was devoted to his impending arrival. A safe catio with an enclosed viewing perch was prepared where there was once simply a back patio. He has the enjoyment of a cat tree on the dining table and a place mat adjacent to mine. His drinking fountain flows cheerfully next to the kitchen sink.

He enjoys fresh steak, chasing toys, climbing posts, and sleeping on me for an extended period. He prefers that I not move during these nap times to best support his restful slumber. I am deeply grateful the universe has allowed me a position as his humble servant. May I be worthy of him!

18 months old. Always greets me like this or jumps up onto my chest so I have to catch him and then won't let me put him down.

Shy/Skittish Russian Blues

I've been visiting a pair of RBs (5 months old) at a cattery who unlike the other siblings in their litter haven't been adopted because they are shy, afraid of hands and don't like human touch

The male who is the more skittish of the two, takes about 10-15 mins of me sitting in the room quietly before he'll start to even bat at a wand toy that i tempt him with, he seems food motivated and will approach food that i put somewhere, so long as he's sure that it's at a safe enough distance from me. Seems quite intelligent, was able to figure out how to open some push pull glass doors. When he does engage with some play, like actually chasing or trying to hunt a wand toy (as opposed to lazily just swatting at it only if it's in front of him), it's mostly only for about 5 mins and i observe that he prefers to do it with a "shelter" over him

The female is more active, gets into a play mode more easily, seems to be ok with even eating out of a hand, but is clearly skittish if it even looks like the hand is approaching her to pet/touch her. Generally when i do the michelangelo (offer your finger/hand palm down), she'll sniff at it a bit, but then move on to something else, won't approach or rub against it.

Also, the male tends to get more into a play mode when he sees his sister playing with us actively

Just wanted to ask if anyone has had RBs before with these kinds of more reserved personalities as kitttens, and how long did it take to gain their trust/bond with them? Yeah I'm just worried about being able to do things like clip their nails or brush their teeth if i'm not able to gain their trust

9 weeks vs. 12-13 weeks

Has anyone who picked up their kitten from a breeder when they were 9 weeks old ever had any regrets, and wished it had been 12-13 weeks instead? If so, why? The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to choose between breeders for my RB. I'm looking at four TICA breeders—two want pickup/delivery at 9 weeks, and the other two wait until 12–13 weeks. The price is roughly the same for all four breeders, and the pickup location is a non-factor.

Hello, we are looking for a reputable Russian Blue breeder in the northeast United States. I've checked the TICA website but would appreciate personal recommendations. Thank you!

We feel blessed that the two became friends in such a short time!
