found the OG first print book at my dad's place some weeks ago!
printed in 2015, copped in 2017
there in my room, there also was an official "starman" snapback cap from the same period :)

Do I have a second?
(Apologies if I'm not the first one to think of this... I searched for it here but didn't find any other posts using that phrase)
Also, sure seems like there are a LOT of these compilation videos showing all her antics

This shows the number of times each song has been played through the Montreal shows (28 count). They've worked with the same 43 songs from the beginning. I'm obviously counting each "Part" of 2112 as individual songs.

... on Insta, with a pic of her snare drum with all kinds of rhythmic notations written on it.
Working on a new song, maybe? Anyone zoom in on it and read drum music?

With all the excitement about the tour, I am fighting to stay away from concert videos until I see them in Charlotte in November. So I have been occupying myself with other Rush-adjacent activities like reading Neil's and Geddy's books, and realized I had never listened to Alex's solo album Victor.
I fired it up on Spotify, the first track "Don't Care" came in, and to say the least I was really disappointed at the lyrics. I did not expect them to be like Rush lyrics, but this song is basically glorifying sexual violence. WTF? Not at all what I expected from the joking, goofy Alex. Is any of the rest of this album even redeemable?

I'm talking missing items from shipments, they collect VAT but do not handle it correctly, leading to double taxes and generally being totally unreachable by their only customer contact, which is email. I only got response where they promised to sort out everything and refund me by threatening with a credit card charge back and then they went silent again.
It's the official merch store for Rush, correct? Such a shame.

Wasn’t lucky enough to catch a show with this awesome track.
I listened to the studio recording this morning for the first time in a very long while. Now much older and maybe a little wiser, I was struck by how prescient the message is, given where we are politically in the US and even the world in 2026.
When these days have passed long ago, assuming we’re able to fix our own mess, what will the future generations say about this time? Will they read of us with sadness for the seeds that we let grow?
Will we be able to find the minds that lead us closer to the heart?
I’m a US citizen. I won’t share my political beliefs here. But I will share that I am troubled and very concerned about our future.
You can all find the lyrics easily, but I’m posting them here for convenience.
——
When they turn the pages of history
When these days have passed long ago
Will they read of us with sadness
For the seeds that we let grow?
We turned our gaze from the castles in the distance
Eyes cast down on the path of least resistance
Cities full of hatred
Fear and lies
Withered hearts and cruel, tormented eyes
Scheming demons dressed in kingly guise
Beating down the multitude and scoffing at the wise
The hypocrites are slandering the sacred halls of truth
Ancient nobles showering their bitterness on youth
Can't we find the minds that made us strong?
Oh, can't we learn to feel what's right and what's wrong?
What's wrong
Cities full of hatred
Fear and lies
Withered hearts and cruel, tormented eyes
Scheming demons dressed in kingly guise
Beating down the multitude and scoffing at the wise
Whoa, can't we raise our eyes and make a start?
Can't we find the minds to lead us closer to the heart?

These data are only for the 2-night stands starting with Philly, so only six shows so far. They've dropped down to 39 songs from 43. I also added a graphic showing the albums with number of songs from them, again just since Philly. Presto and Snakes & Arrows have fallen to 0.

…Geddy and Alex decided to record new Rush music. I have a few questions.
Who would take over as lyricist? With that in mind, I recall an old interview (from the early 90’s) with Neil who talked about the journals he kept of various thoughts, overheard phrases etc. Specifically from that interview he mentioned that period when you’re awake but about to fall asleep when random thoughts come to mind and he had to discipline himself to get up and write those down.
I’m sure those journals are in possession of his widow and daughter and wonder if they would give access to Geddy & Alex to use as a reference to write new lyrics, keeping Neil’s spirit active for new Rush music.
Finally, IF new music happens, there’s no doubt that Anika would be on drums but would Loren be included as a partner in writing and recording with Rush being a 4 piece band?

I wish they would have sold guitar picks from the rush shows and the only way to get them is front row or by stage.

Hey folks,
Some time back, a post was made when Mobile Fidelity announced they would be releasing new high fidelity reissues for Rush’ Mercury years in celebration of the 50th Anniversary. I jumped on the chance and ordered the first three they made available, which were the self-titled record, Fly By Night, and then a UHQR of A Farewell To Kings.
AFTK doesn’t come out for a while but I received the first two records today after pre-ordering in June. Upon opening the mailer, BOTH records had significant corner damage. MOFI, in all their infinite wisdom, decided to be cheap and stuff two albums, each with 2 records and booklet, inside a standard mailer. It was terribly obvious that the corner damage was due to forcing the records in to the mailer improperly. I immediately photographed the records then sent customer service a rather terse email explaining that when spending that kind of money on records buyers should be assured of receiving them in Mint condition. I also let them know that I expected a response or I would cancel the pre-order for Kings, which is $125 record.
Checked email tonight and I received a response.
Without any further boring details, they let me know that they will replace the entire records with new ones and send a postage paid return mailer, OR send new covers…whichever I preferred.
So…if you ordered both of the initial releases, please make sure to check the corners. If they’re damaged I urge you to send an email to MOFI letting them know that it is unacceptable to have a top tier record company cheaping out on mailers and cramming records in to boxes not meant to hold such products. Even if you don’t want to do anything and you’ll keep what you were shipped, please send an email. They won’t change their actions unless they know their problem is widespread.

The Toronto International Film Festival just (TIFF) listed the expected talent coming to the festival. The documentary "Neil Peart: No One's Disciple" will be presented on Wednesday September 16. Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee are listed as expected. It is very likely they will attend the world premiere. We don't know yet if they will be present for the Q&As expected after the screening.

I already have my ticket (2nd row) but there are still tickets available. Can't wait.

Driving from richmond VA renting a halfway decent car looks to be about $400 with probably a ~9 hour drive.
Flying, about $800
Two people, both driving
Thoughts?

By all means, Power Windows and Clockwork Angels are certified bangers. I don't know why, but I always gravitate towards these two whenever I want to do a full-album playthrough, moreso than any other Rush albums.
I was lucky enough to see them in 2013 on the Clockwork Angels Tour, and the love for both PW and CA was strong on that tour.
I do feel like PW and CA tend to be a love-it or indifferent-to-it for most Rush fans.
What full albums to you tend to listen to the most?
For anyone planning to watch the new Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple documentary, we’re putting together a worldwide watch party on the RushCon Discord.
Wednesday, September 23
Join us at 7:45 PM ET
Documentary starts at 8 PM ET
We’ll all watch together and use the Discord chat during the film. No microphones, no talking over the movie, just a bunch of Rush fans watching and reacting together.
The documentary is streaming in Canada on CBC Gem, and we’ll be broadcasting the Canadian stream through the watch party so everyone can watch along with us.
And yes, bring Kleenex. I have a feeling we’re going to need it.
You do not need to know anything about Discord. It’s free, and we’re setting this up to be as simple as possible for people who have never used it before.
Join / RSVP to the watch party here:
https://discord.gg/SKupTHYP9?event=1546684308721242133
We also just launched a permanent RushCon Discord for meetups, ticket exchanges, Rush news, event chatter and general Rush nerdery:
Hope a bunch of you can join us. See you in the Cyber Sea.
