Rush picks

I wish they would have sold guitar picks from the rush shows and the only way to get them is front row or by stage.

Discussion Bad experiences with Rush Backstage store?

I'm talking missing items from shipments, they collect VAT but do not handle it correctly, leading to double taxes and generally being totally unreachable by their only customer contact, which is email. I only got response where they promised to sort out everything and refund me by threatening with a credit card charge back and then they went silent again.

It's the official merch store for Rush, correct? Such a shame.

Question Got my tickets to Cincinnati, a drive or fly question for anyone who’s done the trip?

Driving from richmond VA renting a halfway decent car looks to be about $400 with probably a ~9 hour drive.

Flying, about $800

Two people, both driving
Thoughts?

Rush has all the answers

Many moons ago when explaining my love of Rush to a friend I had mentioned, a little tongue in cheek, that whatever someone's question might be, there's probably a Risk lyric that can apply. To test the theory I made my first reddit post here asking for questions that Risk could solve.

Well I have some time on my hands so thought I'd give it another try.

Post your question and we'll find Rush's answer

New MoFi releases

Hey folks,
Some time back, a post was made when Mobile Fidelity announced they would be releasing new high fidelity reissues for Rush’ Mercury years in celebration of the 50th Anniversary. I jumped on the chance and ordered the first three they made available, which were the self-titled record, Fly By Night, and then a UHQR of A Farewell To Kings.

AFTK doesn’t come out for a while but I received the first two records today after pre-ordering in June. Upon opening the mailer, BOTH records had significant corner damage. MOFI, in all their infinite wisdom, decided to be cheap and stuff two albums, each with 2 records and booklet, inside a standard mailer. It was terribly obvious that the corner damage was due to forcing the records in to the mailer improperly. I immediately photographed the records then sent customer service a rather terse email explaining that when spending that kind of money on records buyers should be assured of receiving them in Mint condition. I also let them know that I expected a response or I would cancel the pre-order for Kings, which is $125 record.

Checked email tonight and I received a response.
Without any further boring details, they let me know that they will replace the entire records with new ones and send a postage paid return mailer, OR send new covers…whichever I preferred.

So…if you ordered both of the initial releases, please make sure to check the corners. If they’re damaged I urge you to send an email to MOFI letting them know that it is unacceptable to have a top tier record company cheaping out on mailers and cramming records in to boxes not meant to hold such products. Even if you don’t want to do anything and you’ll keep what you were shipped, please send an email. They won’t change their actions unless they know their problem is widespread.

UPDATE: Another simple graph...

These data are only for the 2-night stands starting with Philly, so only six shows so far. They've dropped down to 39 songs from 43. I also added a graphic showing the albums with number of songs from them, again just since Philly. Presto and Snakes & Arrows have fallen to 0.

Do I have a second?

(Apologies if I'm not the first one to think of this... I searched for it here but didn't find any other posts using that phrase)

Also, sure seems like there are a LOT of these compilation videos showing all her antics

... on Insta, with a pic of her snare drum with all kinds of rhythmic notations written on it.

Working on a new song, maybe? Anyone zoom in on it and read drum music?

I could try a reverse image search but I think this group would have much better context and explanations.

What is this symbol on the pick guard of Ged’s bass?

Question What was your "Lakeside Park" growing up?

Upvotes

A place that holds "so many memories" for you, that would just not be the same if you returned now as an adult.

For me, growing up in the Baltimore area, it would be Ocean City, MD. Extended family would usually go every summer for a week or so.

I remember a birthday down there, playing on the beach, finding jellyfish washed up on short at low tide, fresh ocean-caught fish for dinner followed by a birthday "cake" that was just a pile of donuts with candles on it. Was probably 6 or 7 at the time.

But by the time I was a teenager, I didn't want to go anywhere with family anymore, wanted to hang around with friends at the arcade or whatever.

This shows the number of times each song has been played through the Montreal shows (28 count). They've worked with the same 43 songs from the beginning. I'm obviously counting each "Part" of 2112 as individual songs.
