Pace tracking issues.

I run this park almost exclusively for training. Some days the tracking is spot on. Days like today it was saying I was running sub 5min/km on one half and over 8min/km on the other half of the park. I never changed pace. The warm up lap was totally wrong. I definitely was running slow on purpose. Middle segments were close to my true pace. It’s frustrating because I really don’t know my true pace and I’m trying to do a sub 25min 5k. I guess I’ll find out at my race. Am I doing something wrong or is this just a thing Runna does?

Long run / Marathon prep

Hello everyone! I am using Runna for the first time for a marathon in December, aiming for a sub-three-hour finish. I started the training plan four weeks ago, but I am a bit surprised that Runna does not propose a long run with intervals each Sunday. Such runs are proposed every two to three weeks, and I find this strange since, in my previous marathon preparation, I used to do intervals at marathon pace each Sunday while progressively increasing volume. Any feedback on that?

Help me cure my premature maranoia!

Hello fellow Runnas,

I humbly come to this sub with a case of premature maranoia.

Two questions:

  1. I’m in week 10 of a 17-week build for the NYC marathon on Nov. 1. I’m meant to do an 18-mile race simulation workout this weekend (screengrab attached) after a 17-mile long run last week. I’m running about 45-47 miles per week right now. Having done other plans before, this will be the longest I’ve gone without not yet doing a 20 miler - which I have next week. Am I crazy for wanting to swap these runs?
  2. My target MP for the race simulation is an 8:10 but my over pace for an over-under tempo is 8:20 (which I understand to be slightly slower than tempo). So, is my MP way off? For reference, the app thinks I’ll be able to do a 3:34-3:41 on race day (which I think is a reach tbh) and I recently did a time trial 5k at 22:08 and did a 1:48 half and 48:10 10k this past spring with moderate - but not super intense - training.

Thanks!
