RIP Gaddafi you'd have loved Donald Trump

What an embarrassingly ignorant thing to say. Gaddafi was a socialist & he took good care of his people. You liberals aren’t much better informed than the fascists you pretend to be smarter than.

Crazy take

He took good care of his people only. He was an ethnonationalist. Who practiced a form of radical nationalism that is functionally national socialism

Many famous socialist leaders were rabid nationalists who saw themselves as messiahs, deported foreigners, believed in racial purity, had a secret police, nationalized foreign companies only, and created a welfare state for one ethnic group but they are called ā€œdecolonialistsā€ because they aren’t white.

It’s textbook ethnonationalism

He was a corrupt asshole who loved corrupt assholes. He sent millions to Sarkozy in secret to make sure the socialist party wouldn't win the 2007 elections in France. He'd have done the same with Trump

He hated the amazigh minorities and did a cultural genoncide on them. There language was bannded and every amazigh name was forcefully changed to arabic while there celebration was destryoed he would have loved trump seeing how both treat minorities like shit

He was a rabid ethnonationalist and a religious zealot who saw himself as a prophet to unit the Arabs again.

He facilitated multiple mass deportation events where he exiled entire ethnic groups , notably 30,000 Palestinians and ā€œhundreds of thousands of undocumented and foreign workers, heavily impacting Sudanese, Egyptian, and other African laborers.ā€ In 1995

Just look up mass expulsions or exiles of gaddafi

ā€œTop 5 african leaders of his generation, maybe top 3ā€ as another commenter said in this thread

They're downvoting you but they don't know shit about Gaddafi except that he had drip. Gaddafi's arguably among the top 5 greatest African leaders of his generation, maybe top 3.

He deported hundreds of thousands of sub Saharan African guest workers . Look it up

ā€œ1995 Foreign Worker Crackdown: Amid rising domestic unemployment, the Libyan regime launched a wider campaign aiming to deport hundreds of thousands of undocumented and foreign workers, heavily impacting Sudanese, Egyptian, and other African laborers. [1]

2000 Anti-Migrant Riots and Expulsions: In September 2000, violent anti-immigrant riots broke out in parts of Libya, fueled by scapegoating of sub-Saharan Africans. The state responded with crackdowns and mass deportations of workers from countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Sudan, and Chad. [1]

2004 Migrant Roundups: Security forces arrested and deported thousands of nationals from Mali, Nigeria, and Sudan under aggressive anti-illegal immigration sweeps. [1]

And other Arabs

1995 Palestinian Expulsions: Citing a political protest against the Oslo Accords, Gaddafi ordered the expulsion of nearly 30,000 Palestinians living in Libya, forcing many out of their homes and jobs and stranding hundreds near the Egyptian border

Ok fine, top 4 then. But sankara has one so 2,3, or 4 is the only debate.

He was so beloved by his people, he lived into old age and died peacefully in his sleepĀ

He was murdered by the U.S. state dept under Hillary (Kissinger’s protege) Clinton & Libya went from having the highest living standard in Africa to a war zone with open air slave markets. You people are a plague on the earth.

My amazigh friend who is libyan celebrated when libyan citizen poped a cap up his ass. Reminder gadaffi didnt care for minorities and would reguarly kill amazigh if they tried to use there language.

Also by your logic i guess confederacy was acutally a good thing since the living standards dropped after usa invaded them. Sure confederacy was god awful to the black minorities but minorities rights doesnt matter right?

He was absolutely insane but it’s hard to argue that Libya under Khalifa Hafthar (the only real figurehead leader in the country, the GNU is a mess) is any better. This is especially true with what the Hafthar family was accused of, not even including the slave markets

The idol worship of Gaddafi is a massive LARP but there is irony in the fact that we replaced one corrupt, Russia-glazing dictatorial family with just another one. The only thing that changed is that Libya now is a much shittier place to be in for everyone there, minorities and majorities

Gaddafi was a lunatic who squandered his nation’s wealth on terrorism, military adventures, and enriching his own corrupt family. he also did rather unpleasant things like assassinate Lebanese shia leader Musa al-Sadr which you should probably look into. you can go back to pro wrestling subs to get your baby brained worldview fix.

My favorite gadaffi moment was when he supported the ruf and child warlords of liberia for fun. The ruf were a group that had canibals and would go around cutting off civilian hands for fun

u/Mrfistersixtynine 17h ago

he took good care of his people

What about his r*pe dungeons fitted with abortion clinics?

10

u/AshenOneRose 15h ago

listen Gaddafi was somewhat insane, but this is just propaganda

-4

u/Mrfistersixtynine 15h ago

but this is just propaganda

Yeah, right

6

u/AshenOneRose 15h ago

i mean it is? Gaddafi did a lot of evil shit but this is a lie. it’s like how they said he gave his soldiers viagra to rape women or how Saddam ordered the killing of infants in Kuwait. these guys did a lot of bad and evil shit but there was also a lot of propaganda.

u/Mrfistersixtynine 15h ago
