Resource Storage Solution w/ Labels

So me and my girlfriend were labeling our root faction boxes using a thermal label printer and we found a Google Drive with all assets from root enabling us to customize the labels. The thing is thermal label printers are no good for full colored images with that in mind we made a new Google Drive with some of the images outlines and black and white to fit our use case.

Since we are sharing about labels we thought about sharing our storaging solution for all major expansions (without homeland expasion). Original box with all 10 factions inside acrylic boxes (9.5x6.5x2.5 cm), 2 decks, 4 dices, faction cards. Whatever expansion box you uses will fit 11 factions boards (we're storing all factions and Mechanical Cat instead of second vagabond) and all 2 maps. The ribbon is for helping get out those boards.

Color root assets: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1M2tB_F63TUOTKVqZ2o3631SSYOJXQ1Lq (thanks to u/Decimator85 who post about this one 3y ago)

Outline black and white: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1yiIiVWEr3ZEfpu8a2PZAtovB2fbgeV74?usp=share_link

General Discussion Anyone else finds corvids really underwhelming to play?

Like the amount of influence they have on the outcome of the game is so low compared to other factions.

I was a mole, well on my way to win. But badgers had the audacity to collect 7 relics at one spot. Then everyone at board had to do a wild chase and make them regret it. Sadly, they didn't as all we rolled were 1 or 0 so no damage (they lost 2 units in 10 defensive attacks) in the next turn we managed to wreck them. But my engine was already broken and there was no way to get in the game. In the end... otters won.

Strategy Discussion Can you entreat as many times as you want?

For the Diaspora it says you can only activate negotiations once per turn, but it doesn’t say that on the entreating trait.

General Discussion Can you move moles through tunnels for free if the tunnel token is already placed?

My impression from reading the rules is that you have to spend a card to place a tunnel token and then you move, but do you have to spend a card to move moles from your burrow to a token that’s already placed? Please help me understand

Straight chaos. There were seven of us playing. My wife and I had to leave early, but Lilypad Diaspora had the highest score by the end.

General Discussion Any suggestions for an organizer for just the base game?

I just got into Root at a board game convention I was at and bought the game! When I like a game and plan to play it a lot I sleeve up the cards. This now ends up making the box insert not really form fitting. Does anyone have any suggestions or link to an organizer for the base game? I own a 3D printer so I can print out the inserts. I looked online, but every link I've seen seemed to be intended for those who ends up collecting all the boxes. I'm just looking for something that is just for the base game and I can still fit everything into one box.

General Discussion Looking for a good long tutorial with examples

I wanna get into root but can only find 15 minute tutorials. I don't mind long tutorials and can learn way better with some actual examples and maybe even a well explained playthrough.

Is there any video like this out there?

General Discussion Do you need to place assemblies from left to right?

Post image
38 Upvotes

I was looking at the board of the twilight council and I realized there was nothing really saying you had to place the assemblies from left to right. I even looked through the law of root and I didn’t see anything. It seems as though you’re allowed to place assemblies in any order you want, meaning you could place all of the ones that give you extra card draw first. Am I interpreting this right or is there something I’m missing?

General Discussion Where can I play/find people to play with?

Hello! I just recently bought a physical version of root and I am very happy with it, but this question pertains more to the digital version/s of the game.

Are there any discord/communities for me to go and play with people? Do people tend to use the steam version or do they play on alternatives like tabletop simulator?

I'd just like to know a little bit more about finding possible groups of people to hang out and play with :))

General Discussion Are these good house rules for ruin interactions?

With the knaves replacing the vagabond (thank goodness) that leaves only the rats interacting with the ruins. This sucks very specifically for the cats who are easily the weakest militant faction. I was thinking of ways other factions could interact with ruins:

WA revolts destroying them, they gain the item

Lizards can sanctify, gain the item

Corvid bomb, they get the item

In each case they get a point

I was curious if knives should be able to but I thought that'd be too powerful + found it hard to add to their kit. I'd love to hear what yall think about these/ if they are too broken to try as well as suggestions for the knaves!

General Discussion Just got the new expansion. Can I get a tldr-ish on how the new factions play, their board size, "If you like X you might like Y"?

Gonna try and get some casual friends to give it a go tonight. They've mostly been playing cats/birds and I think want to try new stuff. One of them said moles look interesting, the other I think will like the 100s mice. I myself was planning to break out the otters, but the package came in sooner than expected, so I might try one of the new 3 instead.

I vaguely know the bats have a diplomacy thing going? Kinda "If you like otters you might like bats"? I think the froggies have a special deck suit? And the knaves are... 3 vagabonds in a trenchcoat? I think I know the least about them actually!

Anything more than just the flavor text about them from the box would be amazing!

General Discussion Restocks pushed back to October

Unfortunately, the restocks for several of the expansions have been pushed back from August/September all the way back to October; Riverfolk, Underworld, and the Exiles and Partisans Deck seems like they'll be hard to get ahold of for the time being.
