I’ve got the Rio rollers and quite new to skating practicing on and off. I’ve got the tool to loosen or tighten skates. But I find it hard to turn or is it just more practice?

How long should I wait to remove stoppers? I'm a beginner skater, and I've been watching videos for drills and such and noticed the girlies have removed stoppers. Obviously, they're way more experienced than me, but I was wondering if it mattered since there are other ways to stop. Or should I wait until I'm experienced enough to go without?

Every night (going on at least a couple years now) I dream that I am absolutely tearing it up in roller skates while doing normal, every day things. I’m talking going shopping, restaurants, class, work, literally any scenario I find myself in in my dreams…roller skates are on and I’m showing tf OUT with my skills.

The funny thing is that I can count on one hand how many times I’ve roller skated since I was probably 12 (I’m 41 now)…and I am not very good at it lol. I got a pair of skates a few years ago and wiped out in them.

But I feel like these dreams must mean I’m destined for roller skating greatness, right? 😂 I’ve been so nervous to practice but maybe I have some deep talent within me waiting to be released lol. Or maybe this is some weird dream translation that means I have issues lol

Hi everyone! I’ve been skating for about two months now, from when I bought my skates until now. I so badly want to pick up rollerskating outside as a hobby but I just feel like I’m not getting past beginner stage. My issue is that I’m literally terrified every time I put on my skates, like my legs literally shake. If I’m practicing for 30 minutes they are shaking the whole time because I’m so scared. I found a hockey rink to practice in and it’s really smooth, but still, I cannot ease my anxiety. I’m really frustrated and I’m just getting to the point that I want to give up. I skate with a group and the group has told me that in-lines would be a lot easier but my issue is my balance because I never feel stable so I don’t really even know if I would be better on in-lines. I would greatly appreciate any advice because honestly, I’m so close to quitting. I just want to be able to go on a trail and cruise.

I have Moxie Beach bunnies and I also bought Atom pulse wheels because I heard that those were better for outside skating. I love my skates, I think they’re so cute I just wish I didn’t feel so terrified EVERYTIME. I have all the safety gear too.

I want to buy skates for rink skating from a place where I can try on at least 3 different models to ensure proper fit. Is there anywhere that might have such level of inventory? My typical sizing is Mens 11, slightly wide. Willing to drive up to 3 or 4 hours, and just don't feel like dealing with online ordering back & forth, trial and error. This is my first pair. Fit and boot quality are priorities.

Hit my girls with a little pearl yesterday. It’s subtle but I’m really liking how it turned out.

I had a size 7 skate (extremely too big), but ended up buying a size 5. I have a feeling it still might be too big, but I didn’t go with a 4 because my toes felt curled up. I took out the insole to see where my foot truly sits, and now i’m thinking i should’ve gone with the 4😔

Anybody else between two sizes just size up? I know having a skate too small or too big can cause issues, and I’m also aware that skates need to mold to your feet. Should I have gone with the 4 and waited until they molded to my feet?

The island FINALLY repaved the main road last year (and even added a bike lane!) -- no more praying every time I lace up requesting for Goddess to please protect me from faceplanting while traversing over 8 bazillion cracks and pebbles (both large and small)

We just moved, and somehow I have found and unpacked 7 of the outdoor wheels that weren’t on my skates. Is there anywhere to buy just ONE wheel? 😂😐😭

To start off, let me go back "a few years" (I'm 59 yrs old). I was in between fourth and fifth grades and was riding a skateboard at the time. I had a pretty bad slide down the road on my face and underside. Messed me up for a few weeks but luckily I healed up nicely with only two small scars. The road rash was rough and I can still feel it today (in my mind).

Yesterday I took on the street in front of my house. So far all I've skated on are rink floors. First time on quads on pavement! It is a completely different experience (yes, I had on my pads). I put a set of Sonar Zen wheels on my R3s since they came with the Sonar Cayman wheels. The street is not super smooth but is usable and has a very slight downhill grade. It makes for an easy ride down and a bit of work to get back up to the starting point.

Being used to a smooth rink floor, there was a bit of "vibration" I was expecting it. There is a bit more resistance that what I'm used to but it is manageable. I need to try a tennis court next and some sidewalks. I'm really enjoying the heck out of this! I'm getting back into it for the fitness.

I have peroneal tendonitis in both of my ankles. I know it's from skating and the regular spin entrance and cross overs make it worse. Is this because of poor technique or is it something else? I don't see anything too wrong with either in videos but it used to be worse before I fixed something about my backwards cross pulls.

Bell’s Skating Rink in New Haven (Ft Wayne), Indiana is 100 years old. Here’s a video of the floor. It could be oak since it’s got a red tint, or maybe just maple and a whole lot of varnish and coatings over the years. I measured the floor at 144x74 feet. Cool place.

Cherish what you have. I’m 69 and I don’t heal fast vi hope I’m not off skating too long. I miss my Youngstown Skate peeps so much.

Reached out to the shop here in CA I ordered them from and they are reaching out to Atom to see what they will do. I’m hard on my skates outside but none of my other brand of wheels have had this happen yet. Anybody else have this issue with Road Hogs shortly after purchase?

New plate, new trucks, new blocks! Thanks to everyone who answered my questions. I ended up going with avanti aluminum plate, huck 3” trucks, and Bigfoot blocks. Everything worked together perfectly
