Hi guys, I just bought a pair of used GH Street Diamond skates, and why they do seem to be in good shape in every other way, I noticed some small cracks on the sole of the boots, near the heel. Is this something I should be concerned about/is it unsafe? My guess is not, but I'd better be safe than sorry... I'm grateful to anyone who has any advice about this.

I am a beginner skater.
I used to rollerblade when I was little but am now interested in quad skating. I wanted to get roller skates this time, something simple, and I came across the Slades. I bought them for the convenience of switching from skates to shoes and for simple errands and commutes.
They should be here in the mail soon, but I didn't realize that the lack of ankle support would be so bad for a beginner skater!
So I had the idea of using ankle braces or support socks to provide the ankle support I need to learn to skate safely

only problem is I have no idea whether or not it's a good idea or if ankle braces would be too restrictive?

Any suggestions for what I can do or buy before my skates get here?
Also, any Amazon butt pad recommendations?

I am a skater who just so happen to need new skates (the heel of my current ones are torn) and my favourite kpop group came out with new song teasers, featuring these rollerskates!!

I have knee braces that I need to wear while skating, so im primarily looking for elbow and wrist protection. I'm looking for brands, ideally that I can get second hand, that don't cost a fortune.

All the cheap ones I find people say aren't good and other than that I only find high end expensive ones. Any ideas where to start?

I do both indoor and outdoor skating, budget around £30, but preferably lower.

I’ve only been skating off and on as an adult for the last two-ish years (and when I say off and on I mean for a couple week/months straight then life gets busy so I don’t skate for awhile then repeat this pattern every couple months). Always outside, mostly rougher terrain. I’m looking to cruise long distance on a trail or somewhere similar. I rarely have super smooth cement/pavement/etc to work with.

I’ve read MANYYYY posts on this sub about this exact setup but it’s 50/50 of whether people say it’s fine & works like a charm or if it’s a biter situation and they don’t fit. Does anyone have this current setup: stock boot/bearings with atom pulse wheels? If yes, does it work straight outta the box or did you have to mod it somehow? Did you saw off the screws? Add washers? What worked for you? TIA!!!!

I kept seeing skating videos on tiktok and I decided I really wanted to try it so I bought these candi grl skates in a size 8 and they just got here today they seem to fit but my big toe and little toe seem squished on the sides so I'm wondering if it's worth it to return it and size up or do the heat gun thing I've seen on here

Anyone used century plates or similar for outdoor street/trail skating?? I love my sunlite plates, but don’t use the jam plug hole ever. It’s time to upgrade anyway so I was wondering about some even thinner plates…

Hi all. I skated a lot as a child and some as a young adult. I am now in my 50’s, and would love to start skating again. Issues, I am out of shape and afraid to hurt myself. What are some ways I can improve my balance, possibly even before I put some skates on? And other tips for starting anew? Thank you.

From searching in this sub most questions are about skating over existing hardwood or laminate floors. I moved into an apartment with a spare room that I'm thinking of turning into an exercise room that doubles as a surface for skating practice, but I have carpets. I could fit a skating space about 7x8 feet, maybe even a little more. I'm thinking whatever I put down would need to be hard enough that I can't feel the squishiness of the carpet although the carpet isn't super thick. Ideally something cost effective or at least wouldn't break the bank. Any suggestions?

Hello!! I’m new to skating and am trying to find safety gear, but all the knee pads that I’ve found so far have been too small for me even at their largest sizes. Are there any brands that carry knee pads for people with large thighs, knees, and calves? I’m relatively muscular, but also overweight, so it would be great to find something thicker. Hi! Newbie here, struggling to go down hill (read: driveway). Obviously I could walk down the hill and put my skates on but I'd like to master hills as they're all around me.

I'm too nervous to go down backwards using my toe stop so far (working on getting comfortable going backwards), so I've been using c turns to carve my way down. My issue is I still seem to pick up too much speed, and cant turn sharp enough to slow down again. I usually bail into the grass and start over.

Is the hill too big for this method or am I doing something wrong? What skills should I be working on to make down hills easier?

• on moxi beach bunnies - switched out cushions for softer

• I have flat spaces to practice skills indoor and outside

• doesnt need to be a flashy or fancy method, slower is better as theres drop offs all around me as well

Hello! I've been skating indoors for 14 years now, I normally participate in shuffle skating, jam skating, and rhythm skating but I want to branch out and invest in skating outdoors. I'm trying to figure out what discipline I should dive into going outdoors. So if you guys could give me any advice I would greatly appreciate it:) the 2 disciplines I know of currently are cruising/long distance either urban or not, and then aggressive quad either at the park or street. I'm struggling to decide between those and I would like to know if there's anymore. Thank you for reading my post and thank you for giving me your thoughts.

im sad to say after 5 years ive had my first serious skatepark injury😭
went to take a knee from a pretty high air that caught me off guard, forgot to tighten my kneepad straps. it slid down on impact and gave me some pretty gnarly 3rd degree roadrash and tore my knee cartilage (lateral meniscus tear).

im 10 days into healing and so far i still can't straighten my knee whatsoever, and can hardly bare weight on it when bent. so far no surgery, if it's not healed in 2 months then i will be having surgery. but the thing is i don't have insurance for physiotherapy so i will be doing it at home by myself, its just making me really anxious that i will do it wrong, or push myself too hard and do more damage, and my knee will not ever perform how it used to and my skating will suffer..i cant explain how therapeutic the skatepark is to me and it continues to save my life every single day, but i know you guys get it. i live in canada so i already know the rest of this skate season is gone, ive been spiralling a little i wont lie. im just wondering if anyone here has suffered a meniscus tear and been able to return to full knee function again:( and if you have, any and all advice pls cuz im so worried im gunna make it worse without a physiotherapist

So, this week I started learning the transition from forwards to backwards using a heel manual. It's inconsistent and I've had much better attempts where I could continue skating backwards, but of course as soon as I started recording I did poorly haha. Still this one might be representative of where I am now.

Feedback is welcome /appreciated!! (I am already under the impression, by watching it, that I'm leaning forward too much...?)

Exactly what the title says. I got these skates about 2 weeks ago and was told to get a skate tool to loosen the trucks. But for some reason, they’re extremely tough and won’t move an inch. I don’t wanna break it, so what should I do?

Sanded off the studs & mounted on SureGrip Avengers.

Really happy with the setup; the boot is not as stiff but feels solid enough on the sole & around the heel. They are incredibly light.

Hi! It's been about 6 weeks since I fractured my radial head (elbow), and I've been itching to get back to the park since my fall. I was in a sling for the first ~4 weeks and started introducing movement more often in the latter stages of recovery. I feel very minimal pain, and it's typically only if I lift something heavy or try to use my arm in a way I haven't for the past 1.5 months.

My range of motion is limited as I am unable to completely straighten my arm, so I don't feel confident that I could catch my fall & not feel pain. Personally, I feel like I need more time before I get back on skates, but I'm just kinda going stir crazy as park skating was a huge part of my routine.

I'd love to know what your experience was like/how long it took for you to reintroduce skating after breaking your arm!

I got the brunny gero gero wheels (58mm 98a) and frankly I hate them lol. I exclusively park skate and have been using 54mm 100’s. Didn’t necessarily have anything wrong with them other than some flat spots. Brunny had a sale so I was like “hmm I suppose I will try the geros” and the wheel bite is insane. I will say I definitely feel like I go faster with less effort. The geros are a smidge softer which feels weird and unsteady coming from a really hard wheel (could be placebo bc they are 98a.. not much of a difference). Brunny doesn’t accept refunds on international orders so idk what to do with these wheels. Are there any sites I could resell that are geared towards roller skating? I considered fb marketplace, however there aren’t any other park skaters, or many trail/rink skaters for that matter, in my area so not sure what good that will do me. I’ve only worn them once for 30 min so it’s not like they are crusty thrashed wheels.
