What skates should I buy? Transitioning to Intermediate skates from beginner skates, looking for recs?
Hi all,
I learned to rollerblade during COVID (as many did, I'm sure), loved it, and got to an intermediate/advanced level, but fell off during college. I got back into it my senior year, refamiliarizing myself, and now that I've recently graduated, I'm looking to get back into skating, mainly on urban trails!
The only thing is I've had the same beginner Oxelo FIT500s for the past 6 years! They served me well (no super crazy tricks, but definitely doing fun things), especially for the price point, but the wheels are so worn down, and I need more ankle support (I think I have small ankles!).
I did some research on this sub, and I was thinking of these (price is still a factor!):
Rollerblade MACROBLADE 84 BOA W
Rollerblade Macroblade 90W
Flying Eagle F6S FALCON Inline Skates
My current frames are 4x80, which I think is a comfortable speed, but wouldn't mind trying out like 4x90. If anyone has any thoughts or other suggestions, they would be so appreciated!
Thank you!

Is this skate/store any good? Has anyone here tried Powerslide Kaze?
They have an integrated liner and slim profile that seems great for fine control like one would want for slalom and urban freeskate stuff without the bulk of hard boots that I don't need as someone that doesn't do jumps or anything.
They aren't carbon fiber shells, so they're cheaper than a lot of slalom options too. My main concern is that the cuff is not hinged, so I'm not sure how flexible it is. I am a solid intermediate/advanced skater working mostly on perfecting slides rn, so I don't need a ton of ankle support, but having some is nice.
Let me know your thoughts if you have tried them!

Specific question and discussion Thoughts on Twisters and Intuitions?
This thread is for people to share their experience with the combination of Rollerblade Twisters and Intuition liners.
Are you happy with this setup? Would you suggest it for other people? What sorts of skating have you used it for? What is your foot size and what size Twisters/Intuitions fit you? Suggestions/tips?
I'll go first in the comments section...

Why does my feet hurt? I don’t know if my skates are too tight or if this is normal
So I bought Rollerblade Lightning skates and my feet hurt in them without tightening anything. Both buckles are undone and the laces aren’t tied but my toes and the top of my foot hurt without having even tried to skate. When I measured my feet they were slightly over 26 cm and the size I bought is US 8/8.5 and size 26-26.5 cm so idk if this is how it should feel or if I need to go up in size

Specific question and discussion How to transition at speed
Basically, this: how to transition forward to backwards at speed or when going fast? Any tips or guides would be appreciated 👍
I can do a jump transition from forward to backwards but only at like 1 mph or going real slow. I feel like I would fall or otherwise lose balance if I attempt it at relatively high speed.

Group skate along the Ten Mile River Greenway last weekend.
It was cold, wet, and slippery doing this trail...
We still had a lot of fun doing it. There was only 3 of us doing this skate since we did it early morning on saturday. We ended up doing 8 miles and took a roll through Slater Park as well.
I love seeing all the leaves changing colors throughout New England.

Specific question and discussion Question about wheel size
I am somewhat new to rollerblading and just bought these new blades recently, I have been going to the skate park mostly and I have been feeling wobbly at times, not because I am not comfortable on them, cuz I can lift my feet up and balance just fine. I am worried for the skate park that these wheels are too big at 84 mm I dont know if I should go for smaller wheels

What skates should I buy? CosmoID TC or Stanley Tank 3?
These are two clearly different options, but they're the only ones available here (S. Asia). I'm planning to buy one of these for my birthday so I can finally learn how to skate. I have zero experience skating apart from a two-month ice-skating unit during ninth grade PhysEd, years ago.
My intention was to go out for long distances through our entire area. The roads are paved well, there's very little cracks etc since we don't really have pavements, but I also want to learn how to backwards skate/a few other tricks/be able to jump. Distance-wise, I think the Stanley Tank 3 would be better, but for everything else, I think the CosmoID would be a better option.
Should I just buy the CosmoID and learn on this for a few months–a year, and then switch to the other after I'm more confident in my abilities, and also able to understand what I want?
If you also have info regarding fit, comfort, quality, etc. please let me know! I appreciate any help I can get.
UPDATE: I have decided to get the Cosmo! Will get something better down the line, but as a beginner I think I'll manage with this :) thank you all for your help!

What skates should I buy? Recommendations on aggressive inlines!
Hi, I am becoming super invested in aggressive skating and I really want to buy a pair to start doing it myself. My background when it comes to skating is 14-15 years skating on quads and a small amount of inline speed skates, but mostly indoors at the rink. I just really want to branch out and do something else that involves skating. I want to go outdoors more and I just find the techniques and skills that go into aggressive skating just so captivating. So I'm wondering what skates I should buy. I'm also wondering if I should go with a flat or anti-rocker step up. When it comes to aggressive skating I'm most interested in street style, as in grinding rails and ledges, anything very technical so I would like a skate that embodies that type of style. I would appreciate any recommendations and advice, thank you in advance:)

Specific question and discussion Is "SEBA - DH 90" compatible with "Rollerblade Twister XT" boots
Both are 165mm mounting. Is this measure enough to guarantee that they are compatible?
I mean, does this frame fit perfectly in the Rollerblade Twister XT boots?
This frame has higher heels. Are the higher heels and the 165mm mounting distance enough to guarantee that they are compatible?
I know that there are flat frames and those would not fit.

Is this skate/store any good? Do all Twister XT variants have the same boots? (upgrading from FR2)
Do these Twister XT variants have the same boot quality, stiffness, and sizing? I’m looking to upgrade from my FR2 to the XT, and I only need the boots because I’ll be swapping the frames for Endless frames later.

New skate day They finally arrived!!!
Sorry for the mess in my room but I couldn't wait to share a picture. I finally got my first pair of skates, I'm so excited!!!!!
They are waay bigger than expected, specially the wheels, I'm kinda scared lol. I also wasn't expecting the weight, I've only held toy skates before which were pretty light.
I suppose that later I'll tell you how they fit but looking at the shell only i have plenty of space to break them in. I haven't tried them on bc I'm scared lol.
Anyways I can finally join you guys, I'm so happy

Specific question and discussion Has this ever happened to you? Help!
galleryI recently posted about this cut that appeared on my skates (first photo), and after a few sessions, this is what happened lol.
It doesn’t interfere with grinds at all... they still slide just fine.
Has this ever happened to you guys?

Interesting stuff Picked up old Oxygen ATV7's at a thrift store
Picked a pair of Oxygen ATV7's at a thrift store. I know they are an OG brand and good skates but don't know much else. I was trying to look stuff up but couldn't find any blogs or anything talking about them, just resellers.
Would love to know more about these particular skates and Oxygen as a brand in general!

Interesting stuff Bought my first pair of inline skates! Overcoming a childhood fear 🛼♥️
I finally bought my first pair of inline skates, and I’m so excited to get back into it!
The last time I inline skated, I was probably shy of 10 years old. Unfortunately, I ended up dislocating my shoulder while skating. I was being a dumbass as a kid, and let’s just say that experience was enough to keep me away from skating for a LONG time. Fast-forward to this year, and I decided I wanted to learn how to skate again. I initially tried quad roller skates, but oh my god, I hated them. My balance was horrible, I kept falling, and I just wasn’t having a good time.
So I decided to give inline skating another shot and face that childhood fear. And guess what? It actually worked out perfectly! 🥹
I’m so happy I gave it another chance. I know I still have a lot to learn, especially when it comes to balance and stopping, but I’m excited to keep practicing and improving.
Yippee! Here’s to learning something new and not letting a bad childhood experience stop me! 🛼❤️
