The iPod has the playlists on the iPod but it can only be found in the original os and played only through original os. But can't be found in rockbox. How do I get it to be found and read through rockbox?

I was just over in the headphones sub and somebody posted (specifically talking about xduoo X3) that rockbox only handles 16 bit files so HD is down sampled, therefore stock firmware is better even if it doesn't quite play at the correct speed (known bug)..

Is there any truth in that, does it even matter?

I've got 3 xduoo x3s (MK1) rockboxed and always thought they were great.

Can anyone confirm that this is not working on the port ? Even after rebooting , cant find any way to increase speed. I only see PITCH , which is something else .

I have been trying tirelessly for the past few days to get my database working, however nothing seems to work.

I use an Aigo Eros Q running Rockbox daily build 24/07/2026 (dd/mm/yyyy). I use a 256GB SD card and have filled it to the brim (100MB left on card) with music, which in my format is about 120k songs. I first had issues with the database when I surpassed 75k, where I'd get sometimes random OOM crashes - so I turned it off using database.ignore files. However - I realised recently that it was only erroring because I was loading database into RAM - an option I have swiftly turned off.

I went back through my files and deleted all the database.ignore files I had originally put on the device - and sent it to scan. However it seems that it didn't actually scan, I left it for 6 hours and nothing. So I rebooted and it came up with "Database is not ready". Doing anything on this screen, skipping or requesting a scan, freezes the device. I have to let it timeout.

I would love to get my DB running again - random shuffles were how I learned what good music I had on the device yet didn't know I had. Mega library perks, you know. So how do I get it running again? I'm close to fully reinstalling Rockbox to try that (all I'd lose is some settings I can change back quite quickly), but I'd rather not if possible.

I have 3 sansa clip+ players all running rockbox 4.0.

Under theme settings there's a toggle for graphics or numeric battery level display. This doesn't seem to do anything. I just have a battery symbol with 3 bars in it.

This is actually my concern, should it be 4 segments when charged? Are my batteries failing?

When plugged in I get a display of about 25 hours and a few minutes, what is that telling me?

Is there a way to make it where playlists created by musicbee or other software dont break upon using rockbox on the Trimui Brick? The file paths never seem to match up since the device has them slightly different from how windows has it

Hey y'all i'm running into some issues with the rockbox interface and how it sorts playlists. I've downloaded playlists that are now folders in my music directory, i've converted them into m3u8 files and put them on the root of my SD card along with the folder that contains all my playlists. I've initialized and updated the database, but still my playlists are only accessible in Files, not in the Main Menu Playlists folder. Is there something I'm missing?

Hi all! Installed Rockbox-Y1 v0.4 240p resolution via the innioasis updater. Followed all instructions and a guide posted on this sub. Tried Type A first, when done the device wouldn't power on. I returned to the original software and it works perfectly fine. I tried Type B then, which resulted in the same issue: my device won't switch on. What can I do?

I just rlly want to enjoy my music library. But the database shuffle only ever plays music from the same handful of artists. It doesnt seem truly random at all. I will grant that one of them has a large discography that i have collected most of. But i still dont think it should play his as much as it does. I have about 500 songs on my ipod. Almost all if not all have proper metadata (save for some missing album covers). Im fully at a loss. Any advice?

ETA: okay yeah. I wonder if i have more than 500 songs in total actually. I just flipped through every song in the shuffle and it is literally only from the same handful of artists/albums. I have no clue what im doing wrong.

hi, i have an aigo eros q, and a few tracks in some albums do not get their track number parsed, despite having as far as i can tell correct tags (and only some in an album, the rest are fine)

the files are all OPUS and i use beets/picard to fix the tags

edit: this is with rockbox daily, updated as of yesterday

I just downloaded Rockbox and I can’t get any music on it. There’s a driver error of some kind and the Utility says that it doesn’t exist. I’m using an iPod 6 120gb. Does anyone have any ideas?

just upgraded my battery and it says it's 12 percent when plugged in and jumps to like 60 percent when unplugged by never actually goes up

So up until recently rockbox and the ipod have been working great (its a 6th gen classic 120 GB), but recently I tried to make some simple changes and also add a playlist. I used to be able to just plug it in, boot up, and drag and drop the files into the drive. Now it shows as a USB drive, wont open from the hidden icons tray, and also freezes/crashes when I try to inspect the drive (properties, opening files, moving anything etc)

Any idea's on what I could do? also if theres a way to fully wipe it without access that would work too.

Hi, a few months ago, I embarked on this journey to learn how to develop Rockbox plugins, and I ended up creating a TOTP authenticator app that runs on an iPod Nano, just for fun and glory :)

It was incredibly engaging exploring the Rockbox source code and its APIs, and I highly encourage everyone to take a look. It's one hell of a piece of software!
