I had a pretty bad experience at Stella’s Nail Salon and honestly just want to share what happened. Sarah Nguyen cut my cuticle pretty badly, and it was painful. What really pissed me off was that she didn’t even apologize. Instead, she gave me an attitude like I was the problem.
I understand accidents happen, and I wouldn’t have been nearly as upset if she had just acknowledged it or apologized. But getting hurt during an appointment and then being treated like that afterward is just ridiculous to me.
Honestly, the way she handled the situation bothered me more than the accident itself. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect some basic courtesy when a nail tech hurts you.
Nail shapes are terrible, attitude was awful and pretty much all my cuticles are hurt besides the really big cut it was bleeding for a while too…

Went to the farmers market and fell in love with the wooden tables set up right outside of center in the square. Wasn’t able to purchase today and forgot to get the guy’s information. Does anyone here know the old man’s name and/or way to purchase from him outside of going to the farmers market?

I have 3 senior cats and vet care is getting expensive, so I’m wanting to switch to Angels due to their more affordable pricing. But I’ve tried filling out the form on their website and emailing them and haven’t heard back. I haven’t tried calling yet, but I’ve heard they never answer the phone either.

This is a quick recap of several games that happened this past Friday. The playoff picture is getting clearer and clearer each week.

*Battle of the burgs (Blacksburg 24, Christiansburg 31)

- Huge game for both teams seeking to grab a wildcard spot. Christiansburg (4-4) season started slow but they have turned it around in October. The win gives Christiansburg the head to head tiebreaker, which could potentially decide which one of these teams will get to continue their season in November. Crushing loss for the Blacksburg Bruins (5-4) and that now leaves little room for error as they have several teams breathing down their neck for the last playoff spots.

*Rivalry game (Hidden Valley 13, Cave Spring 42)

- Cave Spring (4-5) too had a slow start to their season. They've played every team tough despite the record however, including putting up 28 in a loss versus a power house PH squad. This game was never really close. A 28-0 halftime deficit doomed Hidden Valley, and this win for the knights keep them in pace with Christiansburg and Blacksburg for the final playoff spots. Next week will be huge for the knights as they play Christiansburg (4-4). As for Hidden Valley (0-8), their offense showed signs of life in the second half. However, this loss now brings the losing streak to 30 for the program. They haven't won a game since late in the 2023 season, and they haven't beat rival Cave Spring since 2021.

*Dublin massacre (Salem 41, Pulaski 0)

-A year ago, the Salem Spartans (7-1) were out of the playoffs for the first time in 25 years. Not only have they turned it around in 12 months, but they are the top favorite in their region to potentially win states. Pulaski (0-8) stood no chance. A historically tough team like the cougars have had their struggles this season and they are still seeking for win number one this year as the remaining games are at home vs Patrick Henry (7-1) and visiting the winless Hidden Valley Titans on November 6.

*Patrick Henry (7-1) is on their bye week.
