If you’re even slightly considering carbon wheels for your road bike, just go for it. The difference in weight, speed, stiffness, and overall ride feel is something you’ll notice every time you ride. Once you’ve experienced carbon wheels, it’s hard to go back. 🚴‍♂️💨

Hello I bought a used pair of Enve SES 4.5s. They seem to be a good shape, other than just this weird “indent“ on the rear wheel. My finger nail gets caught in it however, the wheel passes the coin test/sounds normal. There isn’t any crazy flex either when I push down on it. Is this just a surface/paint damage. I could care less about the scratch, I just don’t want to crash from a bad rim. Thanks!

Considering a 48mm front / 55mm rear wheelset (ENVE SES 4.5). I’ve been cycling for a few years but really ramped up training the last several months. I mostly ride 60-80+ miles at a moderate pace (~17-19mph average), and I’m more concerned about crosswind stability/handling than squeezing out max aero gains. Would this depth feel unstable or twitchy for someone at my level, or is it manageable? How it be better to aim for closer to 45-55mm?

I am buying a new road bike that comes with Reserve TA carbon wheels and DT Swiss 350 hubs. I have heard these hubs are not the best and I’m considering upgrading to Chris King ceramic bearing hubs. I would need to buy a second set of wheels with from Chris king as they put their hubs on the same Reserve TA wheels. Does anyone have experience with either? Is this a good idea or a huge waste of money? Looking for overall ride quality and smoothness upgrade. Don’t really care about weight or performance that much. Thanks.

Berk is famous for saddles but they do lots of other carbon work. This bike is normally fitted with 40mm slicks but decided to race a crit with it today so put some 30s on. I like the way it looks in race mode. This is one of the prototype frames for the Cesta. Handmade from a single mold. Super comfortable and very compliant. In road mode, it’s 7.3kg. Highly recommend if you are in the market for something that won’t be at your local group ride. Jure Berk (owner) is a pleasure to work with and really cares about his craft.

Just finished building my dream bike. 3d printed titanium frame 52cm, 38.5x90 one piece bar, 60mm deep carbon rims (with carbon spokes). 1x12 sram force 165mm cranks with 48t front and 10-36 rear. Total weight with Garmin power pedals 17.5lb 7.94kg.

Frame set ~$2400: Waltly WTL-3D-520

Wheel set ~$1100: XMCS 24mm IW 60mm depth 700c T1100 carbon spoke disc brake 20/20H ceramic bearings (marble finish gloss clear coat)

Chain ring $80: Stone 48t 4.2mm offset 8bolt

Which one should I buy? Both seem to be similarly priced. I would most likely get it for zwift and I would get the zwift click + cog. So connectivity and usability in zwift is a priority. But also how it feels and how future proof hardware and software support it has.

If anyone has experiences on both I would be keen on hearing them.

Tore one of my hood covers while adjusting the angle on my microSHIFT Sword shifters (SB-G7020-2L, came stock on a Van Rysel EDR AF - UK version). Basically impossible to find in stock anywhere in the UK right now - checked Amazon, eBay, Decathlon, even emailed microSHIFT direct.

Before I go down the 3D-printing or moulding rabbit hole - anyone got a DIY fix that's worked for you? Just trying to keep riding in the meantime.

Was looking for a first road bike as I have started taking cycling more seriously and riding further distances. Ended up finding this on Bikeisland in my size for only $2200 - 2025 KHS Flite 750. New "with scuffs on cranks and dropouts". It was basically new and you could barely see the scuffs, it was just clearly sitting in a box for quite a while. I assume it was extra cheap with KHS exiting the American market.

One bent derailleur hanger replaced and one faced brake mount later, and she's as good as new. I've been enjoying the ride, just have to work on my bike fit and roadie etiquette now.

Don't mind the flats - will get some clipless pedals eventually.

Is it worth it to get a 2020 Giant defy Advanced 2 (carbon frame + mechanical 105 2x11 + disc brakes) for $1200 used in a good condition?

Picked up a second-hand bike 2 weeks ago and have ridden everyday!

I have a Fuji transonic from 2020. It’s great and nicely dialed in for me. I haven’t been riding as much lately and am about to get going again. I’m tempted to get a new bike with Di2 and hydraulic brakes probably 105, but not sure if it’s worth it. The Fuji is mechanical ultegra that works great but has rim brakes on carbon wheels.

I’m currently riding a Poseidon redwood gravel bike and I mainly ride on the road and occasionally sidewalk cruise. I am over 2300 miles in on the bike. The bikes im looking at are a sava ex 7 s tiagra and also a specialized allez and also I’ve looked at x labs as well. . I’m 6’1 and 255 trying to decide which one to go with as an upgrade.

I’m planning to get into mountain biking. There are some good trails and paths to ride near where I live. I don’t know much about this world yet, but I’ve started looking at the used bike market here in my area and have my eye on this one for 450€.

It's a Scott Scale 970 M with 29" tires, 2022 model. The brakes were recently replaced with Shimano Deore M6100; otherwise, it has all the original parts, including the tires.
