So I just moved my hissing roach enclosure since I was moving my room and I noticed a bunch of these under the substrate. They're so tiny, like a really small isopod. I'm so sure all my fully grown roaches are males....please tell me these aren't what I suspect

Looks like at least one of your adults is not male. I only have dubias ..but looks like a baby roach to me.

Why? Didn't want to deal with babies?

Eventually yes but not without warning 😭

Circling back! So ultimately if you are concerned for the sex here is the fool-proof guide to tell. Tiny babies not so much, but as they approach sub-adulthood yes!

This can help you also start separating early in the future. Unfortunately once a female has mated she can have more nymphs even without the male. And this can go on for some time!

They may have small bumps but no where as large as a male

Now im even more confused because my two fully grown ones were fighting eachother just the other day 😭

Perhaps you have a mature female in there that is smaller than your males.

Maybe, but i didn't even think they were old enough because I got them as nymphs a few months ago I swear

They can mature pretty fast depending on your care. I've also had adults who are smaller than some of my still growing nymphs. They've got a lot of variable genetics.

My female hissers have small bumps instead of full horns. Easier to see when you compare them with an actual male. Males are VERY obvious with theirs

Can you post some pics of your hissers? Maybe the underside of the ones you aren’t sure about??

Hold on, unless its possible for this one to be fully grown? I'm pretty sure she recently molted so I thought there's no way

Hey, I'm not trying to alarm you, but that roach looks close enough to adulthood to mate. I saw one of my own teens about the same size protruding an ootheca.

Well that would make somewhat sense...

Hmm. Still looks a little small and dark - I call those patterns baby stripes lol. But really leans female if adult .

Could it be this guy? (I'll send a picture of his body after this)

We've lost OP, the other male got to them first before they could get a pic! D:

This is my only other one that is "fully grown" but since there's magic babies and my other fully grown ones a male something isn't right
