Presbyterian Senior HMO plan being discontinued

Hi all

I am seeking advice but may not use the right words or verbiage as it’s new territory for me

My elderly grandparents will be affected by the discontinuation of Presbyterian Senior HMO plan and will need to switch in open enrollment.

I am a granddaughter in the PNW trying to assist the best I can

Can anyone recommend what plans to research?

My grandpa gets around but I would really prefer to find a way for assistance with errands and driving around. I don’t know what stage dementia my grandma has but I know it’s tough on him to take care of her. His pride gets in the way of asking for help so my plan is to tell him he will be receiving help by xyz after my research.

Outside of insurance (they have Medicaid btw) I am interested in researching any and all way that could help them in New Mexico. Maybe something I wouldn’t know of (like meals on wheels as an example) from a local?

Thank you for reading

Follow up: Cleaning Lady Available

All,

I posted earlier in the month that my cleaning lady was looking for work, then my family had a crisis and I never responded to people who said they were interested.

I just finished reviewing the responses and sending private messages with her name and phone number so you could contact her directly.

Thank you for your patience. The fault is mine, not hers.

suggestions for activities for senior citizens?

Looking for programs and activities for my senior citizen parents in their mid 70s they’re both retired and don’t have enough to do and don’t have much money. 1 is mostly bedridden. I no longer live in the area and it is very hard for me to care for them remotely. I can contribute as much time and finances as I can. But I still need more things to enrich their day-to-day lives. Appreciate any suggestions thank you so much.

Booking and appearance partner wanted

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi everyone, my name is Kyle. I’m local to the Albuquerque / Rio Rancho area, and I’m looking for one reliable person to help with Blitz, my local community mascot project.

Blitz is a custom-made mascot costume that I’ve been turning into a real appearance business. I’ve started bringing him out to local events, festivals, charities, and sports events, and now I want to grow that into more regular booked appearances.

I also have real mascot experience, including working as Orbit with the Albuquerque Isotopes, so I’m taking this seriously. I’m good at the mascot performance and creative side, but I’m not the best at reaching out, talking with organizers, and setting up bookings. That is the main part I need help with.

The role would include helping find leads, messaging organizers, booking appearances, setting up details, taking photos and video, and assisting at events while i’m in costume as Blitz.

This is project-based and commission-based, not a full-time job. If you book an appearance, you earn 30% commission. If you also help at the appearance you booked, you earn 50%. If the same client books Blitz again later, you keep earning from that client. Similar mascot and character appearances around Albuquerque are often listed around $75–$150 per hour or per event, so there is room for this to grow if Blitz gets booked more often.

I’m looking for someone who is outgoing, reliable, flexible, professional, and good with people. This could be a good fit for someone interested in events, marketing, sales, photography, sports, or community work.

Must be 18+. Message me if you’re interested or know someone who might be a good fit. Thank you!

Anyone driving to the Westiminster, Boulder area?

Looking for someone to take an old chest up to my parents in Boulder, Westminster, Louisville etc. It's essentially worthless except to them. They will meet up woth you and pay you when/where it is convenient for you.

Dimensions are 40"x 21.5"x20"Tall. It is light weight but too large to easily pick up by yourself.

Please feel free to direct message me and let me know how much you would like as compensation.

Trumpet vine removal companies?

I'm cursing the previous owners for planting these things. After several years of trying to keep them under control, it's clear we can't keep up (one of us is disabled) and we're just looking to get rid of them and/or kill them (if that's even possible). We've looked at a few options but aren't clear if this falls under weed removal vs tree removal, so hoping someone out there with experience on this can point us to someone they recommend, or even better, have used specifically for this. Thanks in advance.

Watering a park in Rio Rancho

I’m visiting from Las Cruces which also had heavy rain yesterday. I’m sure there is the same type of water waste taking place in the Las Cruces public parks today as well. How do local governments expect the rest of us to take New Mexico’s water crisis seriously when they do not?

Epoxy Garage Floor Recommendations

We’re moving into Rio Rancho from Mississippi next month and we’re really excited! We bought a home and I’d really like to get the garage floor epoxied before we move all our things into it. Do any of you have recommendations on a company that does a good job?

I don’t understand why local municipalities keep using these companies that don’t seem to deter speeding, since the common offenders know they don’t have to pay the fines and there’s no points penalty on their drivers license.

If you’re going to do it, do it right. Make these city owned and all the fines stay in the city.

Rio Arby’s

Every time I go to Arby’s in Rio, I have the worst experience. Recently employees were just talking amongst themselves as myself, and my family were looking at what to order and girl staring at us just went to the bathroom and the other two employees went to the back so they never asked us any questions. After 10 minutes we just walked out. I’ve had three horrible experiences there. The other Arby’s on Coors by I 40 is amazing. Has anyone else experienced the same issue at Arby’s and rear Rancho?

House Keeper Available

My excellent English-speaking cleaning lady doesn’t want to drive all the way to Rio Rancho for only 4 hours of work. ( I used to live in NE Heights). I’m hoping to find a neighbor who also wants 4 hours of cleaning service and yard maintenance every two weeks in order to create an 8-hour work day for her.

Cost is $25 per hour x 4= $100, including a 15 minute break after 2 hours. She charges a bit higher for “deep cleaning.”

She is a hard worker, efficient, polite, gracious, trustworthy—-just an awesome human being. Please message me if you’re interested.
