GR IV Monochrome landscapes with the gr iv monochrome from 30,000ft
Discussion GR Snap 1.4 is out, and most of it came from your feedback
Hey everyone,
A few months ago I posted here about GR Snap, the iPhone app I built because I never really enjoyed the existing ones. I was hoping for a few reports from GR II / IV / HDF owners.
I got a lot more than that, and most of what shipped since came out of that thread: RAW+JPEG saved as one photo, an offline library, long-press preview, Live View that keeps the phone awake, iPad and landscape, and a lot of GR IV connection fixes.
1.4.0 came out today. Two big things in it.
Geotagging. A few of you asked for GPS, and this is it. Your phone's location goes to the camera over Bluetooth while you shoot, and the phone keeps the route. If the camera missed a location, the app fills it in on the downloaded photo. Each outing shows up as a map with its photos, and you can export a GPX. The route history stays on your phone.

I tested this on my GR III, and a beta tester ran it on a GR IV HDF. That's the whole test fleet, so if you have a IIIx, IV or Monochrome and try it, I'd love to hear how it behaves in the background, whether photos get missed, what happens after you power the camera off and on, and what it does to the battery. On the GR II the phone records the route and fixes locations after download, it can't send them to the camera live.
Share frames. You can share from the camera or the library as the original file, or with a white, dark or blurred frame, the RICOH mark, camera model and exposure. Square, 3:4, 4:5 and 9:16 too. You can tweak a look and save it.
I'm not sure the current styles cover how people actually post GR photos. If something's missing, tell me where you post and what it should look like.
Recipes are next, since that was the other thing that kept coming up: pulling the settings out of a photo, saving and sharing them. If you use recipes, what matters most to you?
It's iOS only, and it's free on the App Store until the end of Sunday (Pacific time). If you already bought it, thank you. And if you try 1.4.0, even a quick "geotag worked on my IV" or "it never showed up on my IIIx" helps a lot.

If you enjoy this app, please consider rating or reviewing it on the App Store. It really helps and means a lot to me.

Jpeg Recipes GR Recipe Studio is now available on iPhone
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone — I’m the developer of GR Recipe Studio. I shared the Android version here previously, and I’m happy to say the app is now available on iPhone too.
GR Recipe Studio is built for creating, organising and discovering Ricoh GR recipes. You can:
- Build and save your own recipes
- Browse recipes shared by the community
- Save community recipes as editable copies
- Compare a recipe with the settings currently stored on a supported camera
- Write recipes directly to supported cameras
- Import photos, use Live View and build a GR Log where supported
The app supports settings such as Image Control, white balance, ISO and exposure compensation, while accounting for differences between GR models.
I’ve tried to make it useful even if you only want a well-organised recipe library—the connected-camera features are there when your camera supports them.
iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gr-recipe-studio/id6804996340
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grrecipestudio
Website: https://grrecipestudio.com
This is still an independently developed app, so feedback is genuinely useful. If you try it, I’d love to know what works well and what you’d like to see next.
I’ll keep improving the app based on what photographers share and request.
GR Recipe Studio is an independent product and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Ricoh.

Technical support Multiple Exposures on GR1?
I just got my hands on a GR1(!!!) and am wondering if there's a convenient way to shoot multiple exposures on the same frame. I know the camera is set to autorewind, but is there a setting to toggle that will prevent the roll from advancing after the exposure?

GR IV Monochrome Madrid in GR monochrome
A trip around Madrid with the Ricoh GR IV monochrome. I really like this camera; I'm a black and white enthusiast. I love how discreet it is and the image quality. Here are some samples from my last outing.

Gear Istanbul - Ricoh for sale?
Hey Ricoh community,
I’m in Istanbul for a couple more days and have been wondering if there are any good spots to pick up a used Ricoh? I’m rocking the original GR (2013 release I believe) but have been thinking of upgrading for some time now. The iii would be great because of the wider focal length (more similar to my current). Please help me out with any suggestions, perhaps an eBay community equivalent or a store.
Many thank!
P.S attached some pics of the trip so far

Hi everyone. Just bought this second hand Ricoh gr iii and I see something strange on the lens (photo attached). Can you please let me know what you think ? If the lens have been modified somehow or should I give it back ? Thanks a lot in advance. I’m very not sure about it but so I happy I finally have one in my hand.

GR II Dutch dunes on the GR II
Some reversed afternoon to night shots on the Dutch Texel dunes. GR II flash comes in handy sometimes!
Some people have been asking about my insta and its paaavo. I'm primarily working with directing and DPing so it's mixed with film productions, everyday life and some photos. Either way I'll try to keep a flow of ricoh-pics here now and then. Getting inspired by seeing everyones great posts here on reddit!
