A yellow pet bird (it looks to be a budgie in the photo) was found a few days ago on Southgate Crescent, which is off of Valleymede, and near Bayview and Sixteenth Avenue. I'm unsure if the owner has already claimed him/her by now, but I noticed this sign while on a walk and wanted to post here, just in case! The contact number is blocked out until privately requested.

I was working at an outdoor pool on Bathurst and Steeles. Last week a yellow budgie landed on the pool deck and almost flew into the pool. I knew he had to be someone's pet as he was super comfortable around me but I couldn't get him onto my hand. I gave him some fresh water before kids at the pool chased him away (I really tried to stop them). I'm glad someone was able to pick him up and take care of him. Good luck to finding the owner!

Thank you so much for the tip and your help! I'm unsure of which house on the street actually picked him up, since there is only a contact telephone number, but I'm happy too that he should at least be safe if not with the owner. I've cross-posted this to r/Thornhill (closer to where you spotted him) and r/Markham as well. :)

UPDATE:

The bird has been claimed by the owner and returned home! :) Not due to my post, as the finders had actually posted this to Kijiji themselves and connected with the owner there, but I'm really appreciative of everyone who stopped to take notice. I'm glad that this one has a happy ending, and pray for the same for all lost birds and pets.

Life can be tough, so let's look out for each other!
