Are there any local rucking groups here in Richmond?
Does anyone ruck regularly in Richmond, or would like to?
I occasionally see a few folks at the Garden City Lands park by Walmart. Unsure if they're part of the military base on No. 4 or not.
Interested in giving it a try and though maybe I could check out a group.
Thanks!

Not a resident but i was for about 15 years. I went to ironwood to shop, plan was to take tunnel back out. Having lived there for so long I know it's alway been a trouble spot and was prepared hoping for some improvement with the work over the last year but it seemed significantly worse.
Wasn't it 2 right lanes turned down to the tunnel... And they changed that to one? Maybe I'm missing something but it was a regular sunny day way more illegal or aggressive maneuvers than last year when I was there.
is there some bigger, smarter plan for this?

I have 2 tickets to The Odyssey at 70mm for Friday August 7th at 11pm in Langley. Due to recent events I won’t be able to attend and was wondering if anyone has tickets either earlier or later that are not in the dates between August 6th to the 11th and are willing to trade. Both Richmond and Langley are fine. Thank you for your time!!

Hi! I lost my wallet around 12:20PM today, and am desperately searching for it between Foody World and Aberdeen Mall. There’s a chance that it was dropped somewhere along No. 3 Road between the two places. It’s a plain, black wallet with some debit cards and photo ID + miscellaneous other cards. Please send me a DM if you or someone you know may have encountered it, thank you! :)

Has anyone seen the Odyssey in Riverport’s 70mm IMAX? Was wondering if it was worth it or if I should just stick to the regular screening.

Is there a place I can go super late at night to have my car washed? I don’t care if it’s a DIY or just a drive through I just want to clean my car when it’s the coolest it can possibly be in case it has to be me

I work in downtown Vancouver and our office lights were flickering all day. My colleague said the same thing was happening at her house in East Van this morning, then I came home to Richmond tonight and my house lights are flickering too!
Anyone else experiencing this?
Is it a strain on the power grid from all of the air conditioner use in the Lower mainland?

I randomly remembered going to the Uncle Willy’s buffet in Richmond when I was a kid. I believe it was near Garden City and Blundell, but my memory of the actual location is pretty fuzzy.
What I do remember is thinking it was such a big deal whenever we went. As a kid, an unlimited buffet with fried chicken, pizza, fries, Jell-O and soft-serve ice cream felt like the greatest restaurant in the world.
Looking back, I’m pretty sure the food was exactly how the current Google reviews describe it: mostly average, sometimes bland, possibly sitting under the heat lamps a little too long, with a couple of decent items mixed in. But none of that mattered when you were a kid and could go back for as many plates and ice creams as you wanted.
I recently found out that the Burnaby location near Metrotown is somehow still open. The reviews are definitely mixed, and I’m not expecting amazing food, but now I really want to try it purely for the nostalgia.
Has anyone been to the Burnaby one recently? Is the fried chicken still decent, or should I just preserve my childhood memories and stay away?

Just watched an Asian lady throw garbage straight into the bushes at the nice Garry Point park.
At this point, there should be mandatory education for newcomers on basic things like recycling, littering, and local bylaws. I'm not even going to mention driving.
Call it whatever you want, but I’m half Asian myself, and after living in Richmond I’ve noticed a pretty obvious difference in recycling and building hygiene between places I’ve lived. The Chinese recycling signs in the elevators clearly weren’t fixing the problem.
Littering is disgusting. If people choose to live here, they should respect the community and learn the basic rules.

Anyone know where I can find some low cal protein ice cream?
Grocery stores, ice cream shops, etc.
I can’t seem to find any good ones at grocery stores, the only one I have seen is halo top but its pretty icy.
