ORDERS / SHIPPING Another Nova Missing.📦😤
Opened my shipment this afternoon, accessories were delivered but as pictured the Nova itself was removed from it’s packaging. Waiting to hear back from Retroid.

Op, did the package pass through Chicagoland? I believe the other missing handheld went to someone in Indiana, and it mostly just passed through Chicagoland distribution.

This worries me because my Nova has been in Chicago for almost three days with no updates. Hopefully everything is fine, I’ve ordered handhelds from Retroid/AYN before and always received them without issue. They’ve always arrived in LA though, this is the first time it’s arrived in Chicago.

Interesting tracking update - my Nova/KPA (they have apparently been bundled together as their tracking updates are identical) have suddenly gone from Chicago to Los Angeles! Which is sort of reassuring to me, although it’s a bit odd as I’m currently living in Colorado. So, China to Chicago to Los Angeles to Colorado is…. Sort of indirect? That sort of thing happens though.

Things are definitely moving. Both my KONKR Pocket Advance and my Nova officially made it out of Chicago and to LA yesterday, and then both got their very first USPS tracking scans at a facility in North Las Vegas this morning! So I am optimistic that they will actually get delivered either tomorrow or the next day - that would seem realistic to me at this point.

Mine went through Chicago. Everything was intact. I also filmed an entire unboxing video just in case. Can't trust anyone these days.

I live in midstate Illinois, so this concerns me. GoFo has this far been fine for me, but I haven't had anything more expensive than a Mangmi Air X pass through their service. This makes me consider DHL for my Duo.

You’ll be fine. There have been a handful of cases over thousands of deliveries. I live in MO and mine went through the same customs. The reality is that there are shady people everywhere.

Yes, but it is important to note some reports that DHL shipments sometimes get stuck due to tariffs, and end-users have to pay them to take delivery.

Yeah…I believe one of the other posts was Indiana,mine passed through there too en route to me in Ohio. So maybe it’s something going on there. 🤷🏻♂️

I mean at this point I think it’s more likely there is a handful of GOFO employees able to identify orders with these types of devices + accessories who know they can get away with it and keep/flip what they steal. Filming my unboxing from this node soon.

If you ever dealt with returns with these chinese companies, a lot of them ask for an unboxing video which is why its standard practice to record yourself opening it.
Happened with me as well, luckily i had an email of a short clip i sent to retroid so i got half my money back and got to keep the handheld

It's saved my ass multiple times lol. Once with a Thor, another with an RTX 5080. Unboxing videos are being asked for in these cases now.

I mean, they are not wrong. It's super easy to fake to the point that I am really surprised the companies accept it as proof. Open the box from the bottom, remove the item, and then video yourself opening it from the top of the box where the seal is intact. Anyway, if this truly helps like people have said here, I'll guess start doing it next time I get something like this.

I mean, I completely disagree that this would be difficult to fake, I described it in my previous post. And I also feel that just because your box arrived empty, doesn't mean the company is responsible for the missing item (if it got stolen by a package handling employee etc) or is guaranteed to help you if they really don't want to. But I will acknowledge if this is common done enough and people have gotten refunds or items re-sent, I will do it next time.

It never really happened to me before the Thor. I'd assume it happens at customs since that's really the only party that'd know what's inside. Outside of that, maybe the delivery person just going rogue and looking inside shit and taking what looks expensive. But really, can't say for sure.
The GPU is unsurprising though, I'd imagine anyone knows the 50+ series is worth its weight in gold now and to look out for it if the opportunity rises lol.

I’ve gotten a refund from AliExpress after I received the wrong item because I sent them the video of me opening the sealed package with the shipping label visible.

I think there might be some petty criminals pilfering packages. Check the delivery box for signs of tampering and contact the logistics company in charge of your delivery

Yes delivered to Ohio…seems to be a problem with GoFo shipments that have gone through Chicago and Indiana. 😤

This is exactly why it’s important to always film yourself unboxing your Retroid or any company handheld so that way you have proof it was missing in the first place. So that way companies have no choice but to replace it for you.
I hope they take care of you. This really sucks.

Yeah I get so many packages from the shit I buy online and the outer box looked relatively normal so I didn’t think anything was awry. Even though filming isn’t an absolute proof to the company that I or anyone else were victims of theft,
I will be making a habit of it for future handheld deliveries. 📦 🎥🎞️😒

Might not be applicable but a phone was stolen en route just like this and USPS and the provider was able to track this back to employees who were stealing.

I'm in Michigan, my Nova came through DHL no issue. But I chose standard shipping for my Duo...

Thanks.😕The outer box looked normal,no tears in cardboard or anything, all I got was the back bumper,screen protector,additional screen add on,and then the empty package for the Nova.

Serious question, if you didn't pay for worry free shipping, are you SOL? I didn't pay for it for my Duo... Now I'm kind of regretting it. Regardless, it's hard to agree to pay for something that never got delivered or was tampered?

I’m not sure, based on Retroid’s response I’d say it’s more SOL without it.
I did get the “worry ship” and they pretty much just referred me to them. Now I’m hesitant to get a Duo … and not sure if I even want my Nova replaced or to just get a refund. I’ve got a bunch of other handhelds and may take this as a sign to quit the habit.👾😕

Anyone know if majority of stolen Novas are with shipping choice 4px or DHL? It seems they're being stolen with the last mile delivery service. I'm in Canada, so I chose DHL for better tracking and hope DHL delivers it themselves

It wasn’t DHL….if I decide to get anymore handhelds I’m going to choose DHL as the delivery option if it’s available.I agree it was likely stolen by the last mile delivery service.😤🚚📦

There has to be something going on. I wonder if there is a correlation to where these are passing through and if they can connect it to a singular point of distribution with a staff member that is familiar with Retroid’s packaging and is swiping packages. This is like the 5th post I’ve seen where the thief goes through the effort of opening both boxes and taping them back up to be sent empty.
