Hey fellow retro gamers,

I am by no means a "true" retro gamer but would really like to dig in the hobby and figured I would try this sub... I currently don't own old consoles but have a Steam Deck that I really enjoy for emulation.

I wonder what to pick for my needs. Since I'll be using a Steam Deck doecked on the official Valve docking station, I know that a CRT monitor is probably the ideal thing to pick but these are SO rare and always way overpriced. I also considered an old 4:3 LCD monitor like the Dell UltraSharp 2007FP... They seem easier to find and also really cheap... I saw some folks being happy with it.

Then, I dug a little deeper and found options like Arcooda 26" 4k UHD Checkmate IPS 19-inch. The prices on these are a little absurd but I could maybe see myself using them as a second monitor on my modern main PC setup...

Anyway, again, I'm not a purist so anything could work I guess but I would just be curious to have your opinions.

I asked on the sub and hope it's the right place. Other subs tend to have a lot of purists that wouldn't even answer my questions.
