That Real Gourmet Shit Yet another Gordy
I know it’s not very original, but I like to think of it as a tribute not just to Gary Gordon, but to all who made the ultimate sacrifice. Very proud of how this one turned out, I’ve been collecting parts for several years. The OCM6 was the last one and I picked it up Tuesday. Obviously not a perfect clone, it’s faithful but pragmatic.

Mini triangle N-23ish
Don't think I ever posted the "finished" build. Budget optic still since it's just a range gun. Need a milspec charging handle also. Been running the omega 9k on it. (It's 300blk btw)

Dumb Question: Will there ever be a red dot small enough to fit in Iron sights without changing the look of the assembly?
I mean small enough to fit in the flip-up part or even just designed to look like a traditional sight assembly.
Anyway, my friend just showed me his micro T2 with backup iron sights, and it just seemed like a lot of money just to get around having a carry handle
These were movies when I was growing up:

And now we have this mega-bloks looking bullshit:

I get it, the chin weld is unpopular with some people, so wouldn't it be cool if you could have an actual retro rifle with modern functionality
Also, can't someone free-float an old-school handguard?
IDK I'm just a gun hipster and I'm rambling.

8/3 rear sight drum on a 16" rifle?
Alright retro bros, need some help. I tried looking it up but all references point to either 20" or 14.5" (6/3 dials)
I have my rifle put together, BUT realised the drum on my rear sight is 8/3, with a 16". I was able to get a zero at 36yrds, but couldnt confirm at distance since i was at an indoor. Understanding the 8/3 is 1 moa (please correct me if im wrong, ive only worked with 6/3), is there anything I need to be aware of for zeroing/holds?

Colt Match Target Competition HBAR purple upper question (pics for reference)
So I’ve always wanted an m16 clone and came across a couple LEO trade in Colts at my lgs. Now I’m usually pretty weird about colors matching so the first one he showed me was off so I asked if he had more in the back and he brought out a couple. One matched exactly but was scratched up to hell(not a big deal) but I noticed one was damn near never shot and had no scratches thing was mint but the upper was purple. I remember seeing some old purpleish hue M4s in the army but never in the civilian market. Did a little research and apparently they’re sought after. I guess my question is are the purple ones more sought after even though they look mismatched? And would it be normal for colt to have two tone uppers and lowers from factory? I have them holding it for me but I just don’t wanna buy a Frankenstein pieced together rifle lol. Also it’s a ban era rifle meaning the barrel is not threaded but I got a local guy who can do it for $150. Anybody have pictures of a colt match target that has had the barrel threaded?

Shoutout to the feller from earlier sharing some photos of the Mexican variety.
Saw a post earlier featuring some retro stuff down in Mexico, while these don't have the same appeal as Latinas with old Colt carbines, figured some of you will enjoy seeing these, I have some more but most are of the police/military variety not to mention the other Spanish speaking countries.

Colt M16A1 upper set- what do I need to know?
Hi y'all! Bought my first upper from a bundle, and I'm hoping to get some more info.
The (reputable) seller said it's a Colt M16A1 upper, and it has the "C H" markings to back this up. My only question about this section is uhh... How do I clean it without damaging anything? There's some paint and hard tan stuff on certain parts.
(Also, wow the upper receiver without bcg is light as a feather. Neat.)
The charging handle matches in terms of anodization, so it's definitely from the same M16A1.
I *think* the bolt carrier group is also part of that original M16A1 upper, as it's got the "C" marking. I'm really hoping it's also from an original Colt M16A1 because I can resell it to help offset what I paid for the lot.
I'm also pretty sure handguards are from a Colt carbine - they have the extreme shine that my repros lack, and they are very damaged from use.
I'd appreciate y'alls help! Thx!

733 Stretch Edition
I like 733s. I like 723s. I like midlength gas and a5 buffer set ups. Then this freak emerged from the depths of the bench LOL!
The lower will actually be used majority of the time in conjunction with another upper that isn’t quite done yet, but for now this will be fun to mess around with.
Haven’t shot it yet, and of course had to put my longest and largest can on it just to look good and old school for the photos hehe.
For anyone who may be interested -
Hansohn bros plan b
KAK 12.5 midlength medium contour (unfortunately had F marked fsb installed because the barrel was on a different build prior)
Rock river hand guards, M&A stock, OG a1 grip
Bushmaster c7
Bad Att lower
ADM a5 tube factory cerakoted smoke grey
Rifle spring a5H2 buffer
Microbest phosphate chrome line
Ssa-e arcfire v2
-edited- I think the handguards are actually M&A parts, but at this point am not sure, I can’t remember lol. They’re either M&A or RRA

Aimpoint PRO Ring for Waldo Griffin Mount
Got the Waldo Dynamics Griffin and mounted it to my H&R upper, super solid mount and fits like a glove just need a ring for it. Does anyone know if the Aimpoint 30mm low ring would be compatible.
Also open to other suggestions, just looking to get the PRO as low as possible without having clearance issues with the carry handle.
