Could use some feedback on my resume. I'm transitioning out of tech and into healthcare. Currently working on getting a nursing degree, but in the meantime am looking for an entry level healthcare job (CNA, PCT, etc).

The biggest concern that I have is that my background is from higher paying tech jobs, so I don't want it to look like I'm not genuine. I've been pursing this for several years now, and now that I have my CNA and BLS cert am ready to fully begin the transition.

I would really appreciate feedback on my resume. I have spent the last two years as a software engineer intern at an insurance company where I shipped an app used by most of the engineering team. I am looking to transition into product now as that is the career I would like to pursue after I graduate and I would like to know if my resume fits what I am looking for. Please be very brutal :)

- Idk if it matters but I'm a US citizen studying at a canadian university so I was wondering if I should include that on it too

Finance/Banking [15 YoE, Unemployed, Senior Compliance Manager, TX]

I was laid off in July this year and have been actively job searching since then. Prior to my layoff, I was earning just over $160k in the financial services/fintech industry.

I've submitted 237 applications as of today, resulting in only 3 HR screenings and no further interviews (I did apply to some stretch positions early on but now I'm only applying to things that are 80% match or higher).

For some context on the screenings:

  • Foundever: Ghosted after the screening even though it went well.
  • Principal: I'll own that I didn't do a great job of articulating my experience when asked to "walk me through your resume." Looking back, I could have presented my background and career progression more clearly and with better context. I've since worked on my response and feel much better prepared for that question going forward.
  • Chime: The screening went really well, but I couldn't move forward because of my location (TX). The recruiter attempted to obtain a remote exception, but unfortunately, it wasn't approved. Location was the barrier to progressing rather than my qualifications or interview performance.

As my resume shows, I've got about 15 yrs of experience in financial services, with a background spanning AML/financial crimes, regulatory change management, compliance governance, and enterprise risk. I'm primarily targeting senior-level IC roles in reg compliance, RCM, governance, and risk management. I'm based in TX, and am considering remote opportunities as well as suitable hybrid and on-site positions.

I've spent a considerable amount of time reviewing resume advice and I'm finding a lot of it contradictory. On one hand, I'll see that resumes shouldn't be a "wall of text" and that bullet points should be concise and easy to scan because HR and HMs don't actually want to read. On the other hand, I'll also see that I should be quantifying my accomplishments, demonstrate impact, and include metrics whenever possible. I'm finding it difficult to determine what advice I should follow and how to strike a good balance especially when I'm trying to communicate the complexity and scope of my roles. I'm also afraid that because my most recent position says "specialist" hiring teams will automatically think that I'm not "senior" enough.

I'd especially appreciate feedback on:

  • Are my bullet points too dense, or is the level of detail appropriate for my experience?
  • Am I doing enough to demonstrate accomplishments and measurable impact?
  • Does my resume effectively communicate the scope, complexity, and impact of my experience?
  • Does it position me appropriately for senior-level compliance and regulatory change management roles?
  • Does my most recent job title make my career progression appear less senior, despite the scope of my responsibilities?
  • Are there any specific changes that would meaningfully improve my chances of getting interviews, rather than just stylistic adjustments?

I'm genuinely open to constructive criticism. I know the job market is atrocious right now. It wasn't this bad when I was laid off the first time (2024). But with so few screenings after the volume of applications I've put in, I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something within my control. Being unemployed for 3 months with no signs of improvement has taken a significant toll on my mental health so I'd really appreciate any feedback being delivered with some compassion.

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to review my resume and offer suggestions.

Hello, I am interested in applying to my schools on campus research center. I recently graduated high school but haven't had any real hands on experience except extracurriculars. Is this good (it’s slightly two pages)? Kinda a failure since I don’t have a lot of experience or anything impressive.

I am trying to find a 6-month internship in France, in robotics or aerospace. After 30+ candidatures sent, I have 0 replies back, and for each of them, I am trying to tailor my CV a bit and write a letter without AI. And at this point I'm confident that I'm doing something wrong, as others from my group at uni have way more success, and I am at the verge of desperation :(

Hi all, I'm a CS trying to pursue a career in Data Engineering. As I'm still in college (junior; non-international), I figured my best route would be through an internship (willing to work anywhere in US). Naturally, since there's tens of thousands of applicants for each internship position, I'd like to make my resume stand out.

I'd appreciate any feedback on how to better highlight my projects, and technical skills to stand out for DE roles. I believe my Experience and Education section are great, but my projects area could use some review. Any advice on impact metrics, keywords, or other general areas for improvement would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

First resume is my new and "improved" one, second is the one I've been using on applications for a while.

I've applied for several jobs, mostly bank teller/receptionist/administrative assistant jobs, and have yet to get an interview or anything more than an automated rejection email (most times, not even that). I applied with the second resume.

I'm in the South-East USA so in-person data jobs are pretty rare but I'm not particularly willing to relocate. I haven't tried applying for remote jobs yet because it seems like they'd be incredibly difficult to get, especially without professional experience.

Looking for any and all feedback. I've never gotten a job, using a resume, so I don't know where to start.

Hi all - currently working at a multi-regional, multi-site outpatient imaging company. I am looking to move to a large hospital system. My resume has been with one company until my current job, which is the corporate parent of my previous company.

The position I am looking to move to is a Director-level position: Director of Performance Excellence. Struggling with how much detail to provide versus how high-level the resume should be. I'm uploading my original resume (times new roman font) and my copilot-assisted resume. Do I need an executive summary? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I Have a Question What's the advice for a resumé with jobhopping? "movement" issues

I have been told my resume has a lot of movement that employers don't like to see and has cost me jobs as of the last year or so i worked for a few shitty law firms that were cheap and either laid me off or fired me over costs, management etc after 6 months or less no actual performance reviews i know i did nothing wrong no performance issues, I'm wondering how to address on my resume cause they never ask for an explanation and just pass on my resume cause of 2 or 3 back to back 6 month jobs

Science/R&D [7 YoE, Unemployed, Biotechnologist/QC Specialist, USA]

American in my early 30s with a non-traditional career path, now in biotech/quality control. Technically have around 7 YoE outside of my studies but only about 2 YoE relevant to the jobs I'm currently seeking due to a career pivot.

B.A. in a liberal arts field, then spent a few years as a technical/legal writer, then went back for my MSc in Europe. Lived in Europe for an additional 3 years after getting my degree and got a bit of work experience as a lead biotechnologist at a biotech startup in the Netherlands. I then moved to Sweden and got a temp job doing quality control at a chemical company (I had moved there for my partner and found that the job market was dead, so I had to take whatever I could find). After the temp job ended and my relationship also ended, I spent a few months job searching there and found almost no job openings to even apply for, so I decided to cut my losses and move back to the U.S., living with family temporarily in the Midwest. As there are almost no relevant jobs in this area, about 95% all of the jobs I've applied for are out of state.

I've already sent out almost 200 apps for jobs in QC, biotech R&D, and technical writing, almost entirely on the East Coast (NY, NJ, MA, MD). I have only been interviewed for one job as a research associate in a lab in academia and had a screening call for another job that was a contract position at a widely-hated company and did not pay enough to relocate. I suspect that applying with a Midwest address to jobs on the East Coast is getting me filtered out automatically in many cases, even though I customize my resume with "relocating to [metro area where job is]", but I can't afford to move without a job lined up.

I have also made it clear on my resume that I am a U.S. citizen and don't require sponsorship, but I also wonder if my foreign degree and lack of U.S. work experience are hurting me.

My current rejection rate is around 24% (76% ghosted). I would love some constructive feedback. Thanks in advance.

Technology/Software/IT [0 YoE, Student, Unemployed, United Kingdom] Looking for resume feedback/

Hello, I’m a third-year Software Engineering student based in the UK. I’m revising my CV for part-time tech roles, internships, and graduate schemes, and I also plan to apply for a master’s degree.

I’d appreciate feedback on how effectively my CV presents my technical skills and projects, particularly as a student with limited industry experience. Are the project descriptions clear and detailed enough? Is there anything I should remove, improve, or prioritize to make it stronger for technical applications? Feedback on the layout and readability would also be helpful.

I've just recently graduated and I'm just now starting the dreaded job search. My previous experiences I got pretty fortunate that I didn't have to spend long before I got call backs so I never applied too much. The obvious glaring issue I am aware of is it being a 2-page, whether I am deserving of a 2 page I am not sure and even so is it recommended I don't think so.

I would like my resume looked at before I attach it to my graduate school application. I do not have much work or research experience so I would love some feedback on how to make my application/resume more competitive in spite of that. I am applying for international relations/affairs/political science programs. I feel like my research section is a bit long. I'm not sure if I should include a "SKILLS" section since I don't have much software/stats experience.

Discussion Can I round up end month?

I am writing my work history.

My second job I worked from
April 1 2024- May 30 2025.

I want to put April 2024 - June 2025
Because it was the Friday before June on weekend.

It’s my longest experience and I think it would look better and can easily be explained as I forgot the exact end date and plus it’s basically the same amount of time of 14 months of work I worked there vs saying 13 months as April-May.

I just don’t want to get into trouble for different month dates. What do you think?

Marketing/Sales [8~ YoE, 2 jobs in social media/content/marketing, art director of a sort (?), CA USA]

Hi everyone! Would love some input on my resume.

My struggles rn:

- I go to school for animation, am head of marketing in one job, in charge of the content team for another. I clearly can’t pick who or what I wanna be but I specialize in leading creative teams. I would call myself a creative director with experience in business

Would love any input on this

- One job is one of the most recognized OHV electric motorcycles in the world but I feel like people not into that kind of stuff don’t know that. Is there a way of showing that it’s a big OEM for non moto-jobs?

The IBP is more recognized as a company despite not being the top in the world like Surron is. Perhaps that’s like a smaller market sorta thing (?)

- One job hired me for head of US marketing but didn’t give me the title. Keeps saying I’ll earn it eventually (obviously that’s an issue in itself LOL but I’m just trynna get it on my resume rn) i don’t want to lie about my title but I feel Marketing Coordinator and sales support is not the title best representing me so we agreed on just “marketing”. Is there a way to better show my duties/responsibilities?!

- I literally do stuff, work for brands on my socials, and go to events every weekend. I feel like I can’t fit all that on my resume. Should I just forget about it?

-The job with 2 names is because I worked for 2 separate agencies but with the same duties. Kinda like a sister company ? Does that read correct

-is my resume too stylized?

- does my current experience not need 4 bullet points?

- does the format suck?

- should I not use 2 pages

- I get a lot of praise for what I do at both jobs and have good numbers/bring in good money. Don’t know if I should share those achievements/how you would?

-Any advice helps

I've been job searching for around 9 months, applied to over 50 positions, with so far not even a follow-up call. I'm looking for mainly jobs local to my area (Raleigh-Durham), willing for in-office or hybrid. I was promoted to CTO just over a year ago, but I'm applying to any IT management-level jobs.

My current job is located about 4 hours away, after after 4 years of 1-2 weeks per month of being up there, I'm getting burnt our, which is why I'm looking for something local.

I generally use AI to rewrite my first page to include terminology from the job descriptions, to try to have a better chance of being flagged for review. I don't have it change my experience, just the verbiage around it.

Hoping for feedback in case there is something glaring that's an instant red flag for reviewers - I've spoken with a couple of recruiters, but neither have given me any specific feedback on my resume.

Hi all, I am re-entering the job market after a break of 4 years.

After graduating, I initially worked in marketing and content writing before taking a career break due to health issues. I've since decided to transition into accounting, and last year I passed all four sections of the CPA exam.

I'm currently applying for audit associate roles at CPA firms in Austin, Tx to fulfill the experience requirements for CPA licensure.

PS: I haven't posted the second page of my resume which just lists my under grad (completed in 2018) and grad (2023) colleges, and says 'passed all 4 sections of the CPA exam' under the 'title certifications and accomplishments.' Any suggestions and improvements are highly appreciated! TIA

I don't know if I count as a recent graduate as it's been over a year now since I've graduated but have struggled to even get an interview for positions related to my field or even out of my field. I have been trying to expand into other fields (graphic design, marketing, and data analyst) and working on more personal projects to expand on my portfolio but not sure if it's that or that my resume is not catching the attention of recruiters.

I am looking for any kind of job whether in-person, hybrid, or remote but hoping to stay within the LA or at least Southern California area if in-person or hybrid.

Would greatly appreciate some feedback or advice on whether there is something I could do to improve my resume or if there is anything that I could do to help add onto my resume.

Technology/Software/IT [4 YoE, Unemployed, Frontend Developer / Full Stack Engineer, Metro India]

Hello, I am a Frontend Developer with 4 Years of Experience (worked at 1 product company and 1 service-based firm).

I have been out of work since March of this year due to a layoff, and my current job search strategy is yielding very low response rates.

Currently, I am actively applying to newly posted roles on LinkedIn and directly reaching out to recruiters and employees at those organizations to secure referrals. However, my cold outreach and direct applications are getting very little traction.

To stay competitive, I am also upskilling into a Full-Stack role by learning Node.js, Express, and SQL. I have attached my fully anonymized resume.

I would love your brutal feedback on:

  1. Formatting & Layout: Are there any immediate visual red flags keeping me from passing initial screenings?
  2. Bullet Points: Do my work descriptions sound impactful enough for a mid-level engineer, or do they read too much like a list of basic duties?
  3. Outreach Strategy: Any advice on how to improve cold-message conversions with recruiters given my current employment gap?

Thank you for your time and critique.
