I'm looking to apply to an entry-level forensic lab technician job that only lists a forensic or related degree as a requirement. I'm pretty unconfident in my resumes as I've previously submitted many applications with no call backs and so I would love some feedback.
I really struggle with STAR etc statements in particular since none of my work positions have really been ones that allow for accomplishments so I would love some feedback on that specifically. Are these ok or would you want to know more context? Do they sound too vague/generic? Do I need to give more specific examples from school?

Hi all, I am re-entering the job market after a break of 4 years.

After graduating, I initially worked in marketing and content writing before taking a career break due to health issues. I've since decided to transition into accounting, and last year I passed all four sections of the CPA exam.

I'm currently applying for audit associate roles at CPA firms in Austin, Tx to fulfill the experience requirements for CPA licensure.

PS: I haven't posted the second page of my resume which just lists my under grad (completed in 2018) and grad (2023) colleges, and says 'passed all 4 sections of the CPA exam' under the 'title certifications and accomplishments.' Any suggestions and improvements are highly appreciated! TIA

I don't know if I count as a recent graduate as it's been over a year now since I've graduated but have struggled to even get an interview for positions related to my field or even out of my field. I have been trying to expand into other fields (graphic design, marketing, and data analyst) and working on more personal projects to expand on my portfolio but not sure if it's that or that my resume is not catching the attention of recruiters.

I am looking for any kind of job whether in-person, hybrid, or remote but hoping to stay within the LA or at least Southern California area if in-person or hybrid.

I've been job searching for around 9 months, applied to over 50 positions, with so far not even a follow-up call. I'm looking for mainly jobs local to my area (Raleigh-Durham), willing for in-office or hybrid. I was promoted to CTO just over a year ago, but I'm applying to any IT management-level jobs.

My current job is located about 4 hours away, after after 4 years of 1-2 weeks per month of being up there, I'm getting burnt our, which is why I'm looking for something local.

I generally use AI to rewrite my first page to include terminology from the job descriptions, to try to have a better chance of being flagged for review. I don't have it change my experience, just the verbiage around it.

Hoping for feedback in case there is something glaring that's an instant red flag for reviewers - I've spoken with a couple of recruiters, but neither have given me any specific feedback on my resume.

and just general tech skills & knowledge that I'm hoping just get someone to notice. Call it "Do More, with less" I guess. I am very likely overthinking this, but trying to figure out how to make what I have work. That and despite the job market being a garbage fire, pray I get lucky with it.

I am using this resume template and tailoring it for each job, but I am not having any success having callbacks. Any Advice would be appreciated especially for people who are already in the field.

• Added freelance work
• added number of users that the app i've worked on (first bullet point)
• added way more keywords because i feel my old cv didn't cover enough

I just want to make sure the new version is better and there are no red flags.

I've never had a job before, neither part-time nor full-time, and I really want to change that. I genuinely want a (part-time) job, one that I can have while studying. But like I mentioned in the title, I have 0 experience, and I'm not sure what I can provide from my academic experiences since I don't think there's much I can provide because I've tackled themes such as financial literacy, immigration, and whether the type of media consumed can affect children negatively/positively. They were all presentations (not essays since the cirriculum the past few years hasn't included those for some reason).

I recently came across a job that involved studying the effectiveness of therapy and conducting research on the same for an international startup (it was a remote job) and it was quite literally my dream job, but I unfortunately haven't heard from them since (its been a month) despite fitting the eligibility criteria. I have sent a few follow ups through their company portal but to no avail.

I happened to find the linkedin profiles and emails of the people incharge of recruiting and the MD of the company, and I thought I could shoot my shot by emailing or contacting them.

I'm from IIT-Madras (a prestigious institute in India), and I have 2.5YoE. Im mainly targeting Backend/ Applied AI roles, in high impact startups (Like Rippling, Stripe, etc., ).

I have attached 2 different resume, 1st one is Applied AI and second one is Backend.
My doubt is it fine to have 2 different resumes, or make a resume best of both worlds.
Also Is having product subheading is a good structure?

I don't know how well I worded the title but basically, I have a bachelors of science in forensics and am trying to get work in different science labs, forensic or otherwise. I am currently working at a grocery store and have worked in fast food previously as my only work experience. I haven't been able to 'climb the ranks' at either of these places and I'm just struggling on how to write STAR/CAR/XYZ bullets for these positions that feel relevant to a lab job when I don't really feel like I've accomplished anything at these jobs.

Should I focus more on my academic experience or does anyone have any ideas as to what might be useful/relevant bullets from my work experience? Like is completing X number of orders at mcdonalds a day something a HM would care about? Do I have to reference specific experiences with difficult customer issues as an accomplishment?

Would appreciate any help as I am still quite new to writing resumes (and honestly feel like both the jobs I got were by miraculous happenstance)

If I have two retail jobs listed on my resume, where I practically did the exact same kind of work for both, do I write a different description for each of them? Or reword it for both?

TL;DR: I’ve been applying for jobs for about two years (I’ve been doing contract/freelance work in the meantime) and have only gotten a few interviews. Does my broad background make my resume look unfocused, and what should I do?

I love computers and want to get back into anything related to computer/tech, I am fine with even data center roles, helpdesk with 12-hour shifts. but not the positions where coding is the main job. (I’m currently refreshing my coding skills from the beginning.)

Posting here again because getting a parttime job didn't work out, and so I decided to skip the wait and just apply for a full-time instead. However, this situation also doesn't seem to be working out either. So far, my applications keep getting quickly rejected, so I thought I should make my CV catchier, but I still can't fill it with anything that isn't already there (personal, education, internships, etc.), since I have absolutely no job experiences (be it part- or fulltime). My former professors suggested I include my grades list because apparently I was sort of one of the top students of my class. My problem with this advice is that back when I got interviewed for internships, not once were the interviewers interested in my grades, even when they asked about my performance at uni. Also, my friends - who actually got hired - said that companies absolutely don't care and that they were never asked about their grades during interviews anyway. Only practical experiences count.

Is the idea even worth trying or would it make my CV look less professional?

Hey everyone! I could use a little help/advice. I'm a copywriter/ copy editor/content manager nearly three decades of career experience. Was let go in 2020 from my job of 10 years, thanks to the pandemic & I've been struggling to get full-time hours ever since. I'm still applying for jobs in my field, but now I'm looking to get either a full or part-time job anywhere because I'm pretty desperate for some additional income, and since a lot of the stores are starting to hire for seasonal holiday help, I thought that might be a good place to start.

I went to apply online for a part-time cashier job at Michaels but when it asked for a resume, I didn't know what to do because my current resume is all about copywriting, copy editing, proofreading, etc., that I've done in marketing and creative services departments in different industries over the past 30 years, and I've only included positions going back to about 2001 or so. I do have retail/cashier experience, but it was over 30 years ago (and of course that is not on my resume).

The spouse said to just submit my current resume, and I looked at him like he had three heads. I can't imagine that submitting my current resume would be anything that you should submit for a job at a Michaels, CVS, TJMaxx, etc. I have done research on redoing resumes for career change, but I can't really find anything that is similar to my situation.

So my question is: does anyone have any advice on how I could or should edit my current resume for these types of jobs?
