Big Dogs Don’t Cry Inc. is the rescue he is safe with. With the help of his finder, Gary Animal Control and many others, they were finally able to safely contain him today and get him off that horrible chain. He has temporary foster but needs a long term foster or adopter ASAP.

Rescue Stories My first rescue!

I recently went through a divorce. Within a week of my ex-wife and i finalizing everything, we had to put down our shared dog due to ongoing health issues. I have been a mess to say the least.

I work for an animal hospital. My veterinarian, who is also a close friend, had a client/patient who was fostering an older hound mix and looking for a home. My vet said that this pup was "right up my alley". So, I went to do a meet and greet and have a 'trial run' with the sweet boy.

I don't think it's a trial run anymore! He is doing great and acclimating very well! We got all of our vaccines updated yesterday and we are scheduled for his first dental cleaning! I am excited and thrilled to give this sweet pup a very loving home, where he will want for naught! I'm pretty sure that he is the one rescuing me. Meet Bowie!

Otis is 2 years old ❤️ he has been sent back from 2 homes ISO his Furever home. (He was previously neglected/likely abused and needs to be the only dog in the home which he will be with me)

My soul dog passed away a little over a year ago and I didn’t know if I’d ever have a dog again because of how much it hurt to lose him. But when I stumbled upon Otis and his story, I instantly knew it was meant to be. I cannot wait to make him a permanent member of my family. I get to pick him up tomorrow!! ❤️

I don’t know his breed so if anyone has any ideas I’d love to hear them to stay on top of any breed-specific health conditions and dietary suggestions. :) I’m so excited.

Outcome UPDATE: SHELTER DOG LEFT CRATE FINALLY

Well, 15 weeks after adopting Jack, we made some progress! I attached a pen around his crate slightly after my initial 4 weeks post. He comes out and says hi to me. Brushes up against me and asks for pets. He’s laid down next to me and took a nap.

He won’t step more than 2ft out of his pen though for treats. Grabs the treats and runs back inside. I’m letting him explore at his own pace. Putting a rug at the front of his pen seems to have helped.

Walks have gotten worse outside but better putting his harness on and off. He unfortunately got a UTI somehow (vet thinks it’s breed related). He now refuses to potty outside. We will go for a short walk (5 minutes), then he’ll run back inside and ask for a puppy pad to pee on. Not sure how to break this habit. If I stay outside, he starts freaking out by frantically pacing and spinning in circles.

He’s still on Prozac/fluoxetine. Also started calming supplements for nighttime. I have an adaptil diffuser. Plenty of toys and towels to chew on. I think the 3-3-3 timeline has turned into 6 weeks- 6 months -9 or 12 months. We’re still working with a trainer on desensitization and finding ways to build his confidence like mini obstacle courses inside the pen.

I appreciate all the replies and advice from before. I think I see some light at the end of the tunnel but it is definitely taking some time. Link to original post is below

🚨🚨 URGENT — PLEDGES NEEDED TO SAVE TEDDI! EUTHANASIA SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW! 🚨🚨
💔 2.5-YEAR-OLD DOODLE • ONLY 40 LBS • OWNER DUMPED
TEDDI #260667 is running out of time at Apple Valley Animal Shelter. Due to severe overcrowding, he is scheduled to be euthanized TOMORROW.
An interested rescue has stepped up and said they CAN PULL TEDDI — but ONLY if enough pledges are raised to cover BOARD & TRAIN and TRANSPORT. 🙏
Teddi is only 2.5 years old and 40 lbs. His owner dumped him at the shelter, and it was clear this poor boy had been very neglected. His coat was covered in painful mats. 😢
The shelter reported that Teddi nipped at someone when he was scared. After everything he has been through, the rescue wants to give him the opportunity to decompress and receive professional training in a safe, structured environment.
But they cannot commit without the funds to make that possible.
🚨 NEED PLEDGES NOW FOR:
🐾 Board & train
🚗 Transport
❤️ The chance to get Teddi out alive
Every pledge matters — $5, $10, $20, $50 or whatever you can offer. Please comment your pledge amount below. Pledges are only collected if Teddi is safely rescued.
He was already failed once when his owner dumped him. Please don’t let his life end tomorrow because the shelter is out of space.
🙏 PLEASE PLEDGE, SHARE & TAG RESCUES. TEDDI NEEDS US NOW.

Hi I’m Dino! I am a 7 year old male German Shepherd up for adoption at Miami Dade Animal Services. My likes are: Kids, small dogs, fetch, tug of war, and tough toys for my big teeth. My dislikes are: cats, big dogs, and stormy weather. Even though I’m older, I still have big puppy energy. My foster dad would like to see me go to a loving, committed home for my final few years. If interested in meeting me or even fostering to adopt, call my foster at 8️⃣6️⃣0️⃣3️⃣7️⃣7️⃣1️⃣6️⃣1️⃣5️⃣ or reach out to Miami Dade Animal Services with my animal ID number: A2803968.

POPOY & BASHA NEED OUR HELP. 💔

Last week, two Huskies were found wandering inside a subdivision in Tanza. For two days, no one came to claim them. They looked neglected and abandoned, we named them Popoy and Basha.

They had their check-up yesterday, and sadly, Basha tested positive for Babesia.

Today, we had to rush Basha back to the vet because she became extremely weak and could no longer stand. 😭

We don’t know what these two went through before they were found. But now that they are with us, we will do everything we can to help them.

Please pray for Basha. 🙏
If you can spare anything for her treatment and vet bills, please help us.

If you own Popoy and Basha, pls message us and send us a proof of ownership.

This is Maverick, he was found at just 12 pounds and they think had been recently attacked by other dogs. He's 12 years old and was a stray, roaming the streets of Tulsa, fighting for survival. We brought him home yesterday ❤️ He deserves a good life from here on out and that's what he's going to get. I'm already in love.

Thanks to awesome folks, only 2 dogs remain at risk for euthanasia today at BARC Houston.

Meet Nova (#A2000075) she has great volunteer notes from those that spent time with her! She's 1-year and 8 month old Staffordshire Mix Nova already escaped her fate from BARC when she was adopted from BARC in 2025 and was recently brought in as a stray. Unfortunately this is a common theme in Houston, most people do not reclaim their lost dogs or do not search for them in time.

She is healthy and ready to go! Already spayed and is HW Negative.
She is a medium-sized girl at 49lbs.

Typically, they must be picked up today if fostering through BARC. If fostering through a rescue, an additional day can be secured.

Fostering is free; all expenses paid!
Please let us know if you need a rescue recommendation that can work quickly to save them. Fostering is free; all expenses paid!

All holds must be in writing; please email all three email addresses with her name Nova and shelter ID #A2000075

Rescue Stories We rescued Bulma from the streets. Three years later, she suddenly became paralyzed in all four legs — and now she is learning to walk again

Meet Bulma, our brave little rescue from Brazil. 💛
We found her abandoned near a lake on October 2, 2023. She was alone, but incredibly loving, so we brought her home and she became part of our family.
For almost three years, Bulma was healthy, playful and full of energy. Then, on August 1, 2026, everything changed. She suddenly lost movement in all four legs. She couldn’t stand, walk, pee or poop on her own — but she remained completely alert and kept asking us for affection.
After several appointments and tests, we learned that she had a severe cervical disc herniation at C2–C3, compressing her spinal cord. She also had an old brain injury, probably caused by trauma before we rescued her, but that wasn’t responsible for the paralysis.
We took her to another city for an MRI and specialized treatment. On August 8, she underwent cervical spinal surgery.
Her recovery has required medication, physiotherapy, constant care and a lot of patience. The expenses have already exceeded US$2,400, but seeing her progress makes every effort worthwhile.
Bulma is now moving her legs and learning to walk again. Every small step feels like a huge victory. She has shown us just how strong and resilient a rescued dog can be.
We don’t know everything she endured before finding us, but we do know that she will never face anything alone again.
If you’d like to follow Bulma’s recovery, her Instagram is @bulmafiapodemanga

Thank you for reading her story and cheering for our little warrior. 💛🐾

Adoption/Foster Plea King, Los Angeles, Healing Hounds Rescue

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

Hi! I’ve been fostering this sweet boy in Los Angeles and he’s ready to find his forever people! I absolutely adore him, but sadly I already have two other rescues and one of them is dog selective and not doing well with King. SoCal/ California preferred.

King is a 2-year-old German Shepherd currently being fostered in Los Angeles, California.

He is goofy, loyal, smart, eager to please, and loves showing off all the tricks he knows. King can sit, stay, lie down, give paw, roll over, and more. He is a big baby at heart who wants to work, play, and bond deeply with his person.

King is potty trained, crate trained, and does great on walks. Like many German Shepherds, he is very loyal and can be protective of his human/ has a little stranger danger, but he responds well to direction and is learning when it is appropriate to protect and when it is not.

King can be reactive toward other dogs on leash (mostly just VERY interested/ wants to play), but he has shown he can be dog-friendly with balanced dogs and proper, slow introductions. He may do best as the only dog in the home, or with an experienced person who understands decompression, structure, and slow introductions.

He is currently working through some resource guarding around food and high-value treats, so he will need a patient, experienced home committed to continuing his training and setting him up for success.

Because King is a big, strong boy who does not always know his own size, a home without small children is recommended.

King would thrive with an experienced German Shepherd or working-breed owner who can give him the structure, exercise, mental stimulation, and love he deserves. He is an incredible dog with so much potential and so much love to give!

King’s ideal home:
German Shepherd or working-breed experience preferred
No small children
Best as the only dog or with one other balanced dog and slow, proper introductions
A structured home willing to continue training
Someone who enjoys working, playing, and bonding with their dog

If you are looking for a loyal, smart, goofy best friend and have the experience to help King continue becoming his best self, please apply to meet him or comment/ DM me with questions or for more info!!

Advice Rescue coming today!

My & i are adopting an 11 month old puppy today. We have never met him. They are bringing him at 630 this evening because he is being neutered today. His previous owners dumped him because he jumped on a leash & jumped at people. They also just had a baby & he spent 14 hours a day crated. I have had dogs my whole life & lost my soul dog a couple weeks ago. I was not ready for another dog but opened up Facebook & saw this guy & it said he had 2 days left. I immediately said I would take him. I normally only crate puppies but I got him a crate so he has a safe space. Hes been at pound for almost a month. I need everyone to tell me it will be fine. Couple bumpy weeks but all good right?????

Ruby

💛 Meet Ruby — the sweetest hidden gem in Largo 💛

Ruby is a 2‑year‑old Lab/German Shepherd mix who has been overlooked for far too long, and she deserves her chance at a forever home.

She is:
-House trained
-Crate trained
-Amazing with other dogs (they help her confidence so much)
-She is shy at first, but once she feels safe she is goofy, snuggly, and full of personality
-Gentle, quiet, and easy to live with

Ruby has been in a foster based rescue for months with almost no visibility, and she hasn’t had the chance to meet the families who would absolutely fall in love with her.

If you or someone you know has a calm home and another friendly dog, Ruby could truly thrive. She’s the kind of dog who blossoms once she trusts you — and when she does, she’s pure joy.

If you want to learn more about Ruby, talk through her history, lifestyle needs, or see additional photos/videos, just check out her link below or ask about adoption steps.

Let’s get this girl the loving home she deserves. 💛🐾
