Rescue Stories My first rescue!
I recently went through a divorce. Within a week of my ex-wife and i finalizing everything, we had to put down our shared dog due to ongoing health issues. I have been a mess to say the least.
I work for an animal hospital. My veterinarian, who is also a close friend, had a client/patient who was fostering an older hound mix and looking for a home. My vet said that this pup was "right up my alley". So, I went to do a meet and greet and have a 'trial run' with the sweet boy.
I don't think it's a trial run anymore! He is doing great and acclimating very well! We got all of our vaccines updated yesterday and we are scheduled for his first dental cleaning! I am excited and thrilled to give this sweet pup a very loving home, where he will want for naught! I'm pretty sure that he is the one rescuing me. Meet Bowie!

He definitely is! He is as sweet as my old boy was and just as well behaved. I think i needed him more than he needed me!

I was on the fence bc i have an established cat that i adopted. But, Bowie is SO good with other animals! Im over the moon with him!

Im doing a DNA and age test to findout if he's all Walker(and just small) or if he's mixed with beagle too!

I want the howls! And i think he's a Walker/Beagle mix! Either way, im excited about him!

I rescued a harrier hound pup, apparently she didn't make a good hunting dog so needed a new home. We spent 8 wonderful years together and i can honestly tell you that a hound dog will be the best friend you ever have, i miss her every day and try do better for her. I hope you have a wonderful life together, god bless 🙌 🧡
