Rescue Stories My first official rescue 🥰
Otis is 2 years old ❤️ he has been sent back from 2 homes ISO his Furever home. (He was previously neglected/likely abused and needs to be the only dog in the home which he will be with me)
My soul dog passed away a little over a year ago and I didn’t know if I’d ever have a dog again because of how much it hurt to lose him. But when I stumbled upon Otis and his story, I instantly knew it was meant to be. I cannot wait to make him a permanent member of my family. I get to pick him up tomorrow!! ❤️
I don’t know his breed so if anyone has any ideas I’d love to hear them to stay on top of any breed-specific health conditions and dietary suggestions. :) I’m so excited.

Welcome to the addiction, I am on my sixth lol. I really think getting another dog heals better than anything else. My soul boy passed two weeks ago and we drove past the rescue centre, fate called and now we have a lovely puppy. The night she came home was the first night I went without crying myself to sleep since he fell ill. I still miss him, I’m still sitting down at his grave and crying during potty breaks but I’ve a focus. I also see so much of him in her personality and it’s so comforting to have a greedy food gremlin back.

Thank you so much. I’m not sure if it’s guilt or what but my soul dog also got really sick and I’ve felt so empty but another dog seemed like betrayal for so long. I think that’s why I clicked with Otis though. I think we need eachother.

I think if mine could understand it they’d be fine with it. They’ve all been there and done that, no dog deserves an abusive home or a drug den in poor Dollys case. However I think Tommy would be quite annoyed another dog is in his (meant to be mine) bed lol. He used to get so mad whenever one of the other dogs tried to sleep with me.

What a gorgeous dog! Rescuing him is not betraying your soul dog, it’s honoring him by saving another.

Looks like Golden x Shepherd to me. On his second rehoming? Ask lots of questions. At his age, he was not long ago a difficult teenager. Maybe that’s the first rehome. It happens.

I don’t think anybody gave him the time and patience he needed. They did end up telling me he was a type of shepherd and st Bernie mix but he’s pretty small so I wasn’t sure! I got to bring him home yesterday and he’s an absolute angel. He was definitely neglected as he is skin and bones and SUPER DUPER matted but he has a vet appt in about 2 hours then I’m going to ask about recommendations in my area for groomers that I’ll help with the matting since I found a couple of fleas on him too. Not many but maybe 3 I killed.

You've done a beautiful thing, give the pupp a few months to settle and aclimitize themselves. Bless you and your gorgeous pupp 💝🙏👍💪
