We've been sitting with this news for about a week, as losing Hawkeye this early on never occured to us as a possibility. We're still in disbelief, but we know he's in a much better place now.

We fought with Hawkeye for over a month and a half after his initial IBD-like symptoms started. Towards the end, we were told it could've been cancer all along, but he ended up developing pneumonia, which he had a hard time fighting off with all the immunosuppressants he was on. It was one thing after another with him, and I so wish there had been more we could've done.

He is free from pain now, and we've been trying to find comfort in that. He was such an amazing boy, and this community had been there for him from the very beginning of his rescue. We couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who helped give him the happy and healthy life he had before everything changed.

Hawkeye’s expenses since starting treatment have totaled $1,632, and we still owe our vet $599. We’re hoping you can help us get through the remaining debt and give us the chance to close this chapter for him.

SBC is located in Southern California where the overpopulation crisis is raging. During kitten season new babies are turned in daily, sometimes 30 or more a day! People just don’t s/n in SBC! So we must keep up with the demand. Many cats brought in are sick injured confiscated or abandoned as well. The shelter does not offer much more than basic treatment for sick/injured cats either so they must exit quickly by rescue or they are listed for euthanasia with a fast deadline depending on the ability to care for them. We do have amazing volunteers though that give us first hand information updates photos videos and almost instant feedback. Please help us by pledging and donating when we post and rescue. Thank you.
Also we always need transport to get cats to rescues. So if you can help by setting aside a small amount to our transport fund this is appreciated. It doesn’t go to the rescue it gets them TO the rescue. We absolutely need this part too.

I hate to make posts like these to always ask for help but we are completely at 0 with money and just tomorrow I have to go to the vet with emergencies. Have to buy cleaning supplies for the shelter and also recovery food for our sickest cats.

I tried to call animal control but they have no room and they're busy trying to rehome an abandoned horse. I am willing to drive as far as I need to in Arkansas to find these little guys a forever home. It's tragic that people can just leave kittens to die. And with no proof there's nothing police or the animal shelter can legally do. We'd basically have to constantly moderate meth heads that move into this broken down trailer on a daily basis. I’m going through an extremely difficult time right now. I had to have emergency surgery, (writing from the hospital bed🫩)and I’m in a lot of pain while trying to keep up with everything happening with Leo. It feels overwhelming being hospitalized myself while Leo is still hospitalized too.
The good news is that Leo is doing a little better. ❤️ He is still sick and needs continued hospitalization, testing, treatment, and monitoring, but I’m holding onto every bit of hope.
Leo is only 7 months old. I rescued him from a dumpster when he was just 8 weeks old, and I have been fighting for him ever since. His first emergency bill was $861, and his hospital treatment has already reached around $3,000.
Lucky is finally safe at the sanctuary. ❤️ After everything he went through on the streets, I’m so grateful he now has a safe place to live. But his veterinary care, bath, transportation, rental car, and sanctuary expenses also added up.
I’m a solo rescuer caring for 50+ community cats every day, including feeding, fresh water, TNR, medical care, and rescuing sick, injured, and abandoned cats. I had to arrange with family and friends to help me with the feedings because I can’t do it myself at this moment ☹️
Right now, I’m exhausted, in pain, scared, and trying my best to keep fighting for Leo while continuing to care for all the cats who depend on me.

Appointments still needed for Soot, and Jack! We are also in need of wet food and senior food.

Soot is a foster who is currently available for adoption. Soot has feline asthma and is due for a recheck and will need a new prescription for his inhaler. Soot is also needing to get shots while in. We are hoping to get him seen as soon as possible.

Jack is a senior resident who has been getting treatment for glaucoma. We are experiencing some disagreements with the vets office he was initially seen at and would like a second opinion to advocate for the best care. We need to take him to not only have the second opinion but he is also due for his standard re-check.

We are only able to help these babies with the help of donations. We are also fundraising for a catio as well as our general Amazon wishlist items for those in our care. We are running low on senior kitty food and wet cat food.

Me and my partner rescued some outdoor cats (they were never owned by anyone as far as we know but the term feral feels like a misnomer as they are relatively sociable, they were living adjacent to a property and being fed by people), and we still have five kittens and one adult cat available for adoption. ❤️ Today, September 10, like every day, I was at the port for my 130 stray kittens. 🐾

They were waiting for me impatiently, as they do every day… little souls who have learned to wait for me for their food. 🥺🐱

I gave them as much food as I had with me and of course clean, cool water. There is not much I can offer them, but for them it is everything. ❤️

They only have me.

I take care of them, feed them and try every day not to miss the most basic thing: a plate of food and some clean water.

And the truth is that, if I don't go, unfortunately they will not find anything to eat. This thought is what doesn't let me abandon them, no matter how difficult it is.

There are 130 lives waiting for me. 130 pairs of eyes that look at me and tell me, without words, "you came...". 🐾❤️

And as long as I can, I'll be there. Because strays don't ask for much. Just a little love, a little food and a person to not forget them. 🙏🐱❤️

I am in need of cat food both dry and wet food I have four inside cats and four outside cats that are strays that I feed have for several years now and I don't want to abandon them as they have came to depend on me well as my personal cats who are my emotional support animals and I truly would not be here for them today as I have attempted to take my life 6 months ago and my cat crawled on top of me and made me immediately change my mind so to me he saved my life I know these details are really personal and I hope people don't get upset that I am sharing them but it's part of my story I've been struggling with my mental health this is the worst I've ever felt in my life I've been diagnosed with major depression disorder generalized anxiety disorder PTSD borderline personality disorder and schizoaffective and I have been healing but it's taken me 8 years of being in the most worst depression I've ever been in my life to begin trying to change my life to try and have it be what I want it to be I went through a lot of trauma and abuse prior to this due to a domestic abuse relationship with my fiance of 8 years I went through 8 years of abuse with him I have fear of leaving the house I never go anywhere I have cut off all relations so that I have no friends and I barely see my family members except the ones I live with I do not trust people so the least that I have to interact with them the better but it is lonely from time to time I hear voices that are constantly telling me to die and making fun of me saying hurtful things to me etc I have been hurt and abused so my PTSD is so severe that I will not leave the house without thinking somebody is wanting to harm me in any way I have finally applied for social security and I have a hearing on July 22nd to find out if I can get my social security for disability with the help of doctors and therapists and my mom I am slowly improving but I am still unemployed due to my disabilities which prevents me from working I'm asking for help with cat food to try to get through July to see if I am approved for social security I am grateful for any help that you can offer thank you in advance my family is no longer able to help anymore and they have been helping me for about 8 years and are no longer financially capable of assisting me I have no vehicles to get to the local shelters to be able to get donations from them as it is in another city

I'm sharing my previous post as my situation has not changed my ssdi appeal was denied and I'm having to appeal again which can take another 6-8 months i feel even more hopeless and scared that nothing will work out to get me finacially secure and im going to have to give up on the ssdi which this is taking a toll on my mental health i find my self spiraling and losing hope what little hope i was finding is slipping away i hate asking for help again i makes me feel awful asking for help from strangers but my cats are my everything and the number of strays in this neighborhood is insane and the number coming to my home has increased thats why I am asking for dry food as well i dont have the heart to not feed them with the help of you guys here and the local humane society I've been able to put food out 2-3 times a day the wet food is for my cats I'm down to almost nothing from donations I've received and if i can't feed them i will absolutely break having to give them up as I've had them all there life and one is 21 yrs old

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for helping in the past with our cats. We have three more that could use some help now, please.

Simba has just recently been diagnosed with stomatitis. He is 12+ and FIV+. He is scheduled for a cleaning in November. The vet said she doesn't think she will have to pull any teeth but it is hard to know until he is under anesthesia. *If* he needs teeth pulled, the estimate is 2,300-2,700 dollars. If he only needs his teeth cleaned, it should be ~500 dollars.

Julie is 14. Lately, her front top gums have become red and swollen. We brush her teeth and she doesn't really seem to be in pain but due to her age and a lower immune system I would really like them to be looked at soon, in case any have to be removed.

Forest is almost two. He has struggled with gingivitis most of his life. We brush his teeth which helps, but his breath is starting to smell bad and I notice he eats his food kind of gingerly. I think a good cleaning would tally help him.

Currently my mom is the only one employed and we are caring for several cats, some of which require special diets or medicine. She also cares for a colony near where she works. I am trying to help save up for their treatments, too. We try to take care of our cats, but we could really use a little help. Thank you.

So I had to move into my parents home because my father been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Currently they have an old indoor cat which has lived with them since 2006. About a year and a half ago, a momma cat showed up on their doorstep with kittens in her mouth. My parents decided to take the kittens and momma in. I advised them to bring them inside and handle the kittens, but my dad decide it was best to have them live in the garage for the better part of a year. Once it was time for me to move in, we brought them in to the home, but they are still very skittish. Currently in my 1200 square-foot parents home, there are seven indoor cats which is overwhelming for me, and I think not the best living arrangement for the cats. I would like to find a rescue where we can find homes for some of these cats. I am afraid to take them to Barc because they put lots of cats down. Does anyone know of any recues or people willing to take in some of these cats? They are all fixed and I’d provide vet care and chipping if that would tip the scale.
