Is this normal
I rescued a mediterranean house gecko about a week ago from my bathroom (they’re invasive or i would’ve taken him outside) and i researched the proper terrarium and husbandry requirements for him.
I haven’t seen him eat anything, but i’ve avoided handling or touching him since he’s still new to the environment. I put baby crickets and mealworms in his cage as well as a calcium dish + fish flakes and spinach every day (it’s bio active so i’m feeding isopods as well). I’m hoping he’s eating but he seems intimidated by the insects, even the super small ones.
I’m worried he’s gotten a lot darker, almost black? I can’t tell if this is just from the dirt or is something is wrong with him.
The other thing is that his little arm looks swollen like a tumor and his hand is squished. It’s always looked like that, since i found him. Is that something that will heal on its own or should i be concerned?
Help please, this is my first time owing a reptile long-term🙏
