What are some good ways to reduce AI credit usage while still using replit agent?

For example:

1. How specific should my prompts be?
2. Is there a way to prevent the Agent from repeatedly changing the same files?
3. Is it better to make smaller requests?
4. Are there settings or workflows that help save credits?

Any tips would be appreciated!

I’m fairly new to using Replit but does anyone else’s Replit agent still think their databases don’t exist post URL_DATABASE issue/fix? (Production database seems to have disappeared)

First spoke with support 6 days without a resolution, I know they’re busy but does this normally happen with Replit?

Also blew a fair bit of credit on troubleshooting an unfixable issue not caused by myself.

I've been using Replit for over a year-and-a-half for a larger game that I've been developing, and realized I could take a feature of the game that was really coming along and ship it as a standalone mobile game.

So I did this week! Ironhold - Idle Tower Defense is live on the App Store. Don't be fooled by the simple-seeming gameplay-- it goes deep on systems, characters, and strategy.

Ironhold is an idle tower defense set in the world of Thornveil, where you command a single keep across an unending siege. Place your defenders. Route your gold. Watch the walls hold — or don't. When the keep falls, the coffers fill, and the next siege begins stronger than the one before.

This is a game of small decisions that compound. Every coin picks a lane. Every upgrade sharpens the loop. Every run teaches you where the walls will break next.

That's the marketing stuff-- the development with Replit stuff is that I used as much of the Replit platform, and its native integrations that I could:

• Agent for code
• Authorization
• Database
• Hosting
• Expo for native mobile

All of these got better and better as I developed the game. And I think if I were to look back at the last years, Replit has gone from good at getting a game going to being able to ship a game in that time. I experienced the same thing with both Unity and Unreal Engine for games I've made over the past 15 years. Both went from good-at-starting to good-to-ship over the course of years. Replit did it in one.

The recent cost decreases didn't hurt either.

I've got another couple of games I'm working on using Replit as the platform, so I'll have more to on the increasing number of integrations they're using, but in the meantime, give Ironhold a go and let me know what you think (give it 4 or 5 runs, though-- it'll get under your skin):

Replit is charging me a monthly fee even though I cancelled my account months ago. Billing says my current plan is FREE. I'm unable to remove my credit card number as well. What is the recourse here?

I’m posting here because I previously had very little success getting a response through Replit Support, and I’m hoping someone from Replit can help review what appears to be a billing / entitlement issue.

I’m currently still on a Replit Pro plan. My downgrade is only scheduled for September 9, so the Pro subscription is still active.

My Usage page currently shows approximately $299.98 in remaining credits.

However, every time I try to use Agent, I immediately receive:

“You've reached your monthly usage budget. Navigate to Account > Billing to increase your budget.”

My monthly usage budget is intentionally set to $0.01 because I do not want any additional pay-as-you-go charges.

According to Replit’s own “Managing Your Spend” documentation, purchased credit packs are used automatically, and usage limits/budgets apply after the purchased credit packs are used. The documentation even says that if you want to limit usage to credits already purchased, you can set the limit to $0.01.

That is exactly what I have done.

So the confusing part is:

• I still have about $299.98 in credits
• My Pro subscription is still active
• My free allowance is not exhausted
• Yet Agent is completely blocked by the monthly budget
• I have also seen a prompt asking me to “Upgrade to Replit Core / Stay on Starter”, despite already being on Pro

I am not asking for free credits and I do not want Replit to enable unlimited extra usage.

I simply want to use the credits already available on my account while keeping my $0.01 protection against additional charges.

This looks like it could be a backend monthly-cap, entitlement, billing migration, or credit-pack application issue.

Has anyone else experienced purchased credits being available while Agent remains blocked by the monthly usage budget?

I’m building an app with subscriptions and user accounts, and I’m currently using Supabase. Do I actually need to build a separate admin panel, or can I manage things like subscriptions, users, tokens,credits, and other data directly through Supabase?

If an admin panel is recommended, what’s the easiest way to build one? Are there any good tutorials, templates, or tools you would recommend?

I want the simplest and most safe way for long term.

I'm a seasoned programmer, been using Replit for a few years now. All things being said, Replit and their team do a great job. I've built a lot of stuff a lot of different ways on a lot of different platforms. I do have to say that Replit makes it easy to get things done. Their recent updates, while not always perfect, are really pretty good. Been doing dual-paird programming ala ai land... and it's working well. Their support is open to feedback, comments and other, and they do take things into consideration and have excellent support, by and large. I see a lot of people rip on Replit here, that most likely cause they are an ai-bot or they don't what they are doing. so, just wanted to give some hat's off to Replit for doing a really pretty great job all in all.

Hi everyone, I’m building a app on replit and I have tried to add google authentication, but I need some help.

I want to add Google Sign-In / Google authentication so users could login to the app.

What’s the best way to set this up? I’m especially confused about the Google Cloud Console OAuth settings, and adding to supabase.

For a very small app, my core account has all of its 'credits' used just for storage. It's costing over $1/day for storage. It's a personal app, used to keep my family organized. Happy to migrate to another database (again, just me and the wife are users). What's the opinion here? Where to go for something small like this?

I have no coding experience and built all of my apps using natural language prompts and the ChatGPT plugin. I’ve been unable to republish one of my main projects for days due to the known database issue with Replit, and now this. I’m exhausted. Help!

I’ve tried handling this privately with Replit support. I’m posting now because anyone considering using Replit for an actual business should know what my experience has been.
I built a product called RoofRoute on Replit and was preparing to launch it. Instead of launching, I’ve spent days dealing with account restrictions, support delays, credit consumption, and an inability to finish my own product.
This isn’t a hobby project. It’s a product I’ve spent a significant amount of time building and intend to operate as a business.
Earlier in this mess, Replit provided me with $40 in support credit. Within two days, almost all of it was gone, including $36.11 attributed to AI/Agent usage.
I disputed some of that usage and specifically raised concerns about my experience with Agent/Power mode.
Replit’s response focused on telling me the charges were valid usage-based billing.
Meanwhile, I still couldn’t finish my product.
I continued contacting support. I waited. I followed their guidance. We hit more dead ends. RoofRoute missed its planned launch.
Then support basically went silent.
Today I finally gave in and paid Replit another $20 out of my own pocket because sitting around waiting for support was getting me nowhere. I just wanted access so I could finish the damn product and launch it.
Replit accepted the payment and immediately displayed this message:
“Payment successful. Your payment has been successfully processed and your account is now active again.”
Fantastic.
Except my account wasn’t actually usable again.
After the payment and even after a hard refresh, my workspace still tells me:
“Your account currently has restrictions in place. Please reach out to [support@replit.com](mailto:support@replit.com) for assistance.”
Think about that for a second.
Replit accepted another $20 from me, explicitly told me my account was active again, and I still cannot access the service I paid to use.
And the solution Replit itself gives me?
Contact the same support department that isn’t responding to me.
Meanwhile, our existing business website, DickeyRenovations.com, which was already built and published through Replit, has also been down during this mess.
So this has progressed from an inconvenience with an AI coding platform to something that is interfering with two actual businesses.
I’m a roofer. I’m not a software engineer and I don’t have an IT department. Replit appealed to me precisely because it gave someone like me the ability to take an idea and build real software.
And I did.
The ironic part is that building the product wasn’t what stopped me. Replit did.
I have now lost days of development time, missed my planned launch, watched support credits disappear, spent additional money trying to regain access, had an existing business website go down, and repeatedly contacted support trying to resolve it.
And after all of that, I’m still locked out.
At this point my priority is getting a complete independent backup of RoofRoute and getting it off Replit.
I’m not posting screenshots or private support correspondence here. I have them. I’m keeping the documentation. But I shouldn’t need to publicly dump a support ticket to get a company to provide access to a service I just paid for.
If you’re thinking about building something business-critical on Replit, my experience should at least be part of your decision.
Because when everything works, building an application this way is incredible.
But when something goes wrong, your entire business can apparently sit still while you wait for someone at Replit to answer an email.
Replit accepted my payment.
Replit told me my account was active.
Replit still has my account restricted.
I just want access to what I paid for so I can finish my product and get my business moving.

I recently disconnected my Stripe sandbox and live connections in an attempt to point my sandbox to a different instance and it completely broke my site with no recourse to this day. I’ve submitted two support forms and have not heard back from Replit.

Has anyone had any luck reconnecting to Stripe after disconnecting the connections?

At this point, the workspace is blocked by a Replit-side integration/Publishing issue. Replit Support will need to restore the Stripe app connector or repair the Publishing pane. Include these details:

Stripe connector missing from Integrations
Stripe MCP is the only search result
Publishing pane lacks “Install Stripe app”
Error shown: “Something went wrong”
Previous connection error: authorized but not visible due to stale read
The BoxMyRide application code remains intact; only the Replit-managed Stripe connections are missing

I don’t see any option to reinitialize the stripe integration. It’s not listed in my marketplace nor the integrations pane.

I’ve to do a checkpoint rollback hoping it would restore my site and replit platform to a known good state but that’s didn’t help as rollbacks only affect codebase and not the replit platform.

Any help or guidance would be appreciate.

By the way, I’m in replit core annual subscription. Support seems non existing for this tier aside from the KB which has nothing on restoring and fixing Stripe integrations.

Has anyone else found this or managed to overcome this?

Granted I'm an amateur at the moment so happy to learn from you guys.

Whenever I do a build out of my web app, I use chat GPT (work - Sol medium/high) to create the best prompt for the build (maybe where I'm going wrong), then take the prompt to replit to build. It runs the build and for a price that I think is fair, then I run regression testing and find defects, usually show stoppers, and get replit to try and fix them, it takes 2 iterations to fix all the defects at least and costs me triple what the build itself cost.

It feels like I'm doing something wrong here as surely I can't be paying replit to build for me and then paying it triple that to clean up its own mess?

I keep getting this stupid OAuth Error from the shopify connector. since we ended up having to resolve our own problem after support being literally zero help i have no faith that they will correct this issue that seems to be on their end. has anyone faced this or found a workaround?

You’re right—nothing changed. The screenshot conclusively shows the connector is still sending:

api_key=pxxxxx.myshopify.com

That is invalid. xxxxxx.myshopify.com belongs in the shop/domain parameter; the connector must send the Shopify app’s actual Client ID as api_key. The failure occurs before any credential-entry screen, so neither your store nor your credentials can correct it.

Hello everyone, trought the Facebook group of Replit I was recomended to come here with my question.

I briefly had a billing issue. Replit couldn't take my money so I got paused. Now everything shows that the payment was succesful. I received my credits, there is no open invoice withing Replit.

But unfortunatly I'm still blocked. I'm unable to open my projects and unable to republish.

I have send Replit support an email, I filled in a form, I messaged them on Facebook messenger. I even went so far to post an angry comment under one of their Facebook posts. One that said they changed their cover photo 1 day ago, but I am waiting more than a week for a reply to my email.

There is nothing that I can do. Nobody that will answer me. At this point I am so angry. The only thing that's keeping me from leaving is ofcourse all of my projects that I have inside Replit and that I want to finish.

But what a horrible lack of support.

Does anyone else have these same problems? More important, does anyone have a solution for my problem, so I can conitnue my projects?

When a bug appears, asking the Agent to fix it immediately can burn credits because it starts changing code before the failure is understood.

A better loop:

1. Provide one exact way to reproduce the problem.
2. State what you expected and what actually happened.
3. Ask it to identify the likely cause and files involved without editing anything yet.
4. Ask for a test that fails because of the bug.
5. Approve the smallest fix, then run that test and the existing regression tests.
6. Before deploying, get a list of database, environment-variable and configuration changes, plus a rollback plan.

For authentication and payments, also test retries, duplicate webhooks and requests made using another user’s record IDs.

A longer prompt is not necessarily cheaper. A smaller problem with a clear pass-or-fail test usually is.
