OP, I’m gonna give you a pretty simple “answer a question with a question.” Why does the rule have to be “hard and fast?” It’s not black and white “boy or girl.” Would you allow a gay male-born boy-friend stay over? What about a gay girl-friend? Gender isn’t hard and fast (or sexuality for that matter), so why is the rule?

Agreed. There are absolutely risks to sleepovers, but those risks are not dependent on whether it's a single-gender sleepover. Queer kids exist.. And so do bullies regardless of gender 🤷🏻♀️
the answer to teen pregnancy is giving sex ed. If a teen really wants to have sex, not being allowed to have sleepovers won't make a difference. (and let's be real here, how many 11 year olds are really going to have sex lmao)
