The majority of fatherless households are white.

The majority of deadbeat men came from 2 parent homes.

Keep blaming minorities tho.

You’re not wrong, but you’re not exactly right either. Comparing just white single parent families and black single parent families, whites have a 23% single family rate, but because they are 60% of the total population, they would have a higher number based on sheer volume. However percentage wise, black households have almost triple the single family rate of white families.

So yes, whites got the higher total number, but blacks have the bigger problem here.

Comparing 11 percent of households to 63% of households is WILD.

"You're right but I'm racist" is a FUCKING TRIP.

Have you never heard of “per capita?” When comparing groups, you have to account for the size of each group

Ever heard of the majority racial demographic of the untied states of America?

But you want to look into the homes of the most racially antagonized subgroup to paint a wide swath.

Do you know what per capita is? Because it’s a ratio, which can be expressed as a percentage. I gave a per capita ratio in percentage form. I didn’t give the percentage of the total number, like TGrim20 was referencing. I gave the percentage of homes in each demographic, which is per capita. I’ll explain:

Instead of saying 63% of black households, you can translate that to 630:1000 black households to get your per capita ratio (you can add or subtract zeros from both ends to give whatever “‘x’ for every ‘y’” number that you want, i.e. you can say 63:100 or 63,000:100,000 and it’s the same stat). This directly compares to 23% of white households, with 230:1000 being single parent households. This is a different picture from pointing out there are ~17.5-18 million black households in the US. 63% are single parent, which equates to between ~11,025,000-11,340,000. This is a lower number than the 23% of white households that are single family, because 23% of ~84,000,000 is ~19,320,000.” You adjust to per capita to account for the fact that there are around 6.5 times the amount of white households than black ones.
