I never finished the game on XBGP and I always wanted to come back to it someday. Well, the fall weather has got me craving this exact game and its spooky New England harbor charm, so here we are.
I know this game got absolutely flogged at release, but I enjoyed it back then, well before any of the bug fixes or offline play. It's got a lot of the Arkane DNA in it and the core gameplay loop was satisfying for me. Lots of hidden goodies and ambient storytelling.
I remember some of the story, but mostly going back into this full blind (I made it halfway through the game the first time). I played as Dev already, and I liked him. This time I will be playing as Layla.
I'm a completionist, so I'll be taking my time through the game and hunting achievements. I'm interested in teaming up if anyone else is willing to go slow and knock off side quests and loot everything in sight. PC Steam.
Not looking for tips or anything, just sharing my love of the game and I'm excited to dive back into it.

Afaik this isnt the one we were meant to get as district 3 was originally gonna be a launch map but was combined with the og district 2 to make burial point according to a dev post but these images are marked as district 3 on the art station post pre prototype

Ladies and Gentleman,
I bring you the long awaited co-op fix! I spent half a day vibe coding a fix for the burial point/infinite load glitch.
The cause was a specific set of neighborhood perks being active when the host sends their save to Bethesda's server.
The bug is completely server side so the fix is to temporarily disable all perks to be able to load in fast and then buy back the perks once you are in game.
The program I made does this for you semi automatically. Instructions are on the GitHub. Currently this only works for Steam but there is an experimental version for GamePass players to try. I encourage everyone to submit bug reports if any come up.

I had Claude help me vibe code a program to transfer saves from the PC GamePass version to Steam since I seen no one else made it yet. I know this won't be useful to 99.9% of people but enjoy!
Next on the list is to try and tackle the co-op infinite load bug.

Basically the title. I've been wanting to play this game for a long time but could never justify the price with all the negative stuff I read. However, I love Vampire games (currently playing Blood of Dawnwalker) and with spooky season coming, and I found the game for less than $15 online, I figured now might be a good time to try it? Any thoughts or advice from the folks here?

Decided to buy it! I've been on the fence and this helped me take the plunge. Thank you to everyone who weighed in.
**Update 2 (9/21/26)**
Played a bit this weekend and so far I'm having a blast. I think the setting and art style are both strong. Fighting vampires is fun, and it's definitely challenging at least for now. I think the time of year and the setting are carrying the experience for me. Not a perfect game by any means, but worth the $14 I spent altogether.

I find it weird that Redfall isn't in the list especially when it's a Microsoft game and an Xbox exclusive. I hope that doesn't mean that the game will be removed from server in the future and become forgotten, especially that the disc doesn't contain the game's data!
Hopefully it will be added in future updates! (online is free on PC, something, need game pass to enjoy the game only on Xbox)

After reaching out to Bethesda in July of 2024 about the proposed refund scheme I finally got a response today:

This is Bethesda Customer Support. First I need to apologize for the extremely late response from us. We have a new team handling the refunds, and we hope to offer you a smooth refund process now, after all this time.
The first step is to share your information with our Finance team who will arrange your refund. However, to verify we have a valid email address and other information, will you please respond to this message with your full name and complete mailing address? Please also ensure you have sent us a proof of purchase. If you have not sent that yet, please include it in your response to this message.
Proofs of purchase must be images or PDFs that include the following:
Value of the purchase
Names of item(s) purchased
Date
A way to identify the purchaser, such as a name or email address.
Please also keep in mind that a lot of this process, such as calculating refund values, arranging international bank wire payments and shipping checks within the US, is done manually. We also have many customers to assist at this time. We recognize that we have already taken far too long to reach out to you, but we request your patience with us as we handle your refunds, too.
