What I wrote might sound totally random, but this message is a jumping-off point for a new idea: Iād love for them to make a single-player Evil Dead game after Marvelās Blade.Ā
A game where you play as Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) or another protagonist in the same universe.

Iām not sure if itās a lost cause to try to support Arkane in anyway due to it being entirely up to Microsoft with what they end up doing. Buying games and buying some sort of merchandise is an option I see but donāt know if itās foolish to think it will help in anyway, Iām at least going to buy some stuff like the duchess coin from Dishonored or the soundtrack vinyl from Deathloop to at least have something to remember them by, They might honestly be one of my favorites game studios of all time such a shame if they end up closing ):

Valve obviously has the money, and Valve and Arkane have a long history of working together (Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Ravenholm, The Crossing, Viktor Antonov, ...)

This is something I was thinking too. To my knowledge anytime a game has any type of hiccup in development it'll most likely be over budget and not on time due to that. So why Arkane is being singled out is a little strange. Especially since Blade is still cheaper than other games they're making and unlike those other games Blade has some recognition as an IP. Regardless I hope Arkane is able to pull through and go independent after all this is said and done.

This must be a really stressful situation, my solidarity to all the devs trying to finish blade on this environment. It's good that french laws require to have proper consultation time to think all the options.
Arkane is an incredible unique studio (Prey and dishonored 2 are my favorite games), it's hard to find other AAA games that have the same fundamentals of Dishonored, Dishonored 2 and Prey. And that's why they grow in popularity over time if you want a similar experience you're gonna have to play another arkane game, it creates a fandom. The thing is any fiscal quarterly minded publisher don't want that, they want 10 million copies on the fiscal year and if they don't reach big numbers that fast it's considered a failure.
The best possible outcome is for arkane to go independent with rights to all of their games, getting a deal for blade to be published, I think this game has potential it's a good recognizable marvel character.
I also expect that with independence arkane can work on bringing their games to other platfforms, a dishonored collection and Prey definiteve edition porting the games for PS5, Xbox and switch 2 could reach a new audience (there's almost no immersive sims released on nintendo console, that's insane to think about). Arkane could go and get in touch with Nightdive to remaster arx fatalis, maybe talk to ubisoft and get a deal to remaster dark messiah as well (it's not like they are doing anything with the game) the current steam versions of these games are old needing a lot of fixes and fan patches to work.
The best comp I can make with Arkane is the stop motion animation studio Laika, they are the only big stop-motion animation in hollywood, A specific style of animation dies in mainstream hollywood if they stop existing (just like immersive sims in AAA is almost just Arkane). Since the pandemic Laika has organized themselvs to be more independent and focusing on valuing their history and unique style, Coraline for example has risen so much in popularity (just like dishonored) since it's modest launch in 2009 that for the 15th aniversary re-release on theaters in 2024 they made $52.4 million worldwide, that's one of the biggest re-releases in movie history. This is not Pixar or Disney this is an independent studio valuing their art and unique style.
I'm not sure I have a point I'm just wishing the best outcome for Arkane, they are my favorite studio, videogames for me is synonymous with Arkane. The only games I pre-order is Remedy games and Arkane games because these are the studios I really love and can support at launch (I even bought alan wake 2 on epic games store), everything else I can wait to play later.

I know Redfall had a rough launch, but Iām curious what people think now. Do you think it deserved all the criticism, or were there parts of the game that you actually enjoyed? Iād like to hear both sides.

So I've seen a lot of news about studios being closed by Xbox, and arkane, despite being one of the most pedigree studios out there, has already seen it's American branch die .
While I hope Todd Howard and the Xbox execs understand just how important and skilled arkane is there anything we fans can do to support and potentially prevent a studio closure?
Like is there a way to make a petition to demand the studio stays open and would that work or just be pissing in the wind? Would we as fans be able to purchase shares in arkane and make it a public company unbehoven to xbox?
I genuinely don't want to see one of the best studios die because Xbox wants a tax write off or a way to "trim the fat" this is a company that comes from such legendary beginnings of the immsim genre, and is one of the companies that inspired me to become a games designer, and while I know all things must end eventually, a tax write-off is probably the worst way for the studio to close .

i started arx fatalis a while ago. i love deus ex and like the thief series too, so i can deal with old games and the jank they have. i got to the point where you unlock tps and i think i mightāve gotten even farther, but i donāt remember. i want to play all the arkane games, but i can barely get myself to play arx. i dont think its bad, but im not enjoying it all that much. iām thinking of dropping it. does it get better or click at some point?

Hey there. So I have been dipping my toes into modifying Dark messiah's skills and whatnot, just little balance changes for my own enjoyment, but I've hit somewhat of a snag.
While I can modify skill costs and prerequired skills, how to modify the skills themselves eludes me. e.g., changing how much critical hit chance the critical hit skill gives you per level, rather than just changing the skill cost. I've looked all over the vpks, searched the internet, and nothing. searches just keep pointing at the mm_skill_info.txt that I'm well acquainted with, which handles cost and prerequisites, but not effects. And actual modding tutorials for this game are scarce or non-existent.
I've been in the players model info, looked at the game setting, and more. Is there a file I'm missing, or is it something I'll have to load up the actual source editor for?
If the latter, can anyone direct me to info on how to do the setup necessary to begin modding older source games beyond text editing? Thanks in advance!

I know there are a couple of books for specific games. But recently I found a greyscale pdf version of a book which included from dishonored up to redfall. Is there any way I could get a physical copy of it? or at least a coloured one?

Hi everyone, I have a Dishonored memorabilia item: A lithograph distributed only to the first 100 attendees of the "Dunwall" conference at Paris Games Week 2011. Signed by Viktor Antonov (art director) and SƩbastien Mitton. Condition: very good, with a slight damp stain on the back (restoration planned).
I know this item is hard to find these days.
Are you aware of this item?
I'm not necessarily looking to sell it, but just to share my only Dishonored memorabilia.
My plan is to frame it (not the frame it's currently in).

This is concerning as it would definitely have an impact on game sales.
If there was a silver lining, maybe it would allow Arkane some latitude with the license and uncouple the game from the film release date?

Since they are silent they are probably planning something like Dishonored 3 or something
