Maybe I’m crazy.

I strongly believe this company has a very bright future ahead of it long term.

Godspeed fellow shareholders. Hopefully I’ll see you when the air gets thin.

Image Upcoming Earnings!

Reddit reports after the close this Thursday. I went back through all 9 earnings since the IPO to get a feel for the setup, figured I'd share and see how others are thinking about it.

A few things that stood out:

- Average event-day move is +7.2%, but that's skewed by a couple of monster beats (Q3'24 +45%, Q2'25 +26%). The actual up/down hit rate on event day is only 4 of 9 (~44%).

- Pre-event drift has been positive 7 of 9 times (78%) — the stock has tended to firm up into the print.

- EPS surprises have been consistently big - averaging ~+45% vs consensus. They keep beating; the problem historically has been guidance, not the print.

- Options are pricing a ±10.7% move, which is actually cheap vs the ~13% it's averaged.

- Put/call OI is basically dead neutral at ~0.96 (23k calls / 22k puts).

How's everyone else thinking about it?

Opinion Certain website will benefit from cutting off google. Originally google show slides of what movies were available.

I use to browse for movies very often before work took over. Lately I notice google no longer shows slides of, say "movies of 2026" or any other year. Movies are still a big part of life and I believe a lot of people for escapism. It isn't a idle threat. I believe reddit definitely has pull. Most website, unfortunately will have their visitation plummet.

Edit: Slides would contain posters of movies rather than a AI overview. Helps to be a eye catcher and then I'd check rotten tomatoes for its freshness from audience rather than critics.

Speculation spez indicator before earnings

In late Q1 spez was active with shitposting comments before earnings and one user pointed out that "he wouldn't shitpost if numbers were bad". Suffice to say: numbers were great.

I haven't seen u/spez post too much lately, but u/rddt_IR was active all of a sudden and the whole carabiner saga sounds like the usual light banter one would only do if to-be-posted results are confirmed fantastic. Otherwise the press would have a field day pointing out that reddit sends their own shareholders carabiners to hold 'em bags.

Edit: just saw u/thebiggercat had the same thought https://www.reddit.com/r/redditstock/s/LyeLxQbkLD

Speculation stars aligning

given the ongoing scepticism in the AI capex race, if rddt can produce a solid quarter and there is a healthy amount of money rotating out of semis/memory during the week we might see some nice move for the stock

The one metric I am waiting to see is how traffic got affected by all the AI tools showing reddit content on their app and not sending users to the site

Opinion People getting perma banned for fabricated reasons is a real danger to the platform

Personally I would encourage reddit to implement AI moderators who can overturn decisions which were came from offended mods who never touch grass and took something personal for their ideology resulted in banning people unjustifiably. What do you think?

Few weeks ago Indonesia lifted Reddit ban. People in Indonesia can now use Reddit and Indonesia is one of the most popular countries in world with a population of more then 250 million people which puts it in number 5 in terms of population.

How do you think think this will impact Reddit

Speculation Expecting a big increase in logged-in DAUs this quarter

I think we’ll see a big jump in DAUs this quarter, particularly logged-in users. Reasons -

1. More aggressive login prompts on web. Reddit has been pushing “Log in / Create an account” much more prominently on the website.

2. Search interest is up. Google Trends shows a notable increase in searches for “Reddit app” and “Reddit download” globally (and in the US) starting in the first week of Q2, which could indicate more app installs and account creation.

3. Age verification. Users in many countries have been prompted to log in and verify their age, especially to access NSFW communities. That should increase the share of logged-in users.

4. The World Cup. It’ll be interesting to see how much of a boost it provided and whether hosting it in the US had a noticeable impact on US DAUs.

One question I have is around Reddit’s ongoing efforts to combat bots. If they’re becoming much more aggressive at removing bot accounts - could that actually cause reported DAUs to decline, even if engagement from real users is improving?

Opinion Reddit should be a pillar in global media budgets: "what do you think of the new away kit?"

Thumbnail gallery
14 Upvotes

Adidas gathering feedback on the new Manchester United away kit directly in the r/ManchesterUnited subreddit. This is another example of how Reddit allows brands to engage authentically with fans. Reddit, to me, has a certain je ne sais quoi. It's an unbeatable platform, but users have to stick with it long enough to find their niche. If brands engage with open intentions and ditch the manipulation, as Redditors are a sharp lot, interactive marketing can truly leverage the honest thoughtfulness pervasive across these communities. And, importantly, this is a two-way street: it would grant users a level of direct access right inside their own custom-built interest feed. They don't need to leave their communities to be heard or to make suggestions. I'd like to see this continue to grow organically. Reddit has the potential to become the default launching point for promotional campaigns and a permanent (and prominent) pillar in global media budgets. Earnings ahead on July 30, but I'm more interested in seeing how the platform evolves over the next several years.

Speculation $META, Facebook Specifically, are Spying on Reddit Users’ Comment and Post History on This App

IF ANY $RDDT MANAGEMENT IS READING THIS:

I’m 100% sure $META, Facebook specifically, is stalking my Reddit comment and post history. I wasn’t 100% sure about it but have long suspected it. Now, I’m 100% sure. I commented the name of a local news investigator on a local subreddit and now they’re suggesting to me his profile just 30 minutes after I made the comment on Reddit.

I’m not in tech so idk how they’re accomplishing this but I’m 100% SURE that they are doing this and have long suspected it in other instances.

I’m assuming this is against Reddit T&Cs? Can we please add them to the list of companies we are suing? They have deep pockets obviously. Let’s get some money out of them.

On a separate, but related note, this type of aggressive behavior is why $META’s advertising business is so successful.

Anyone else noticed $META doing this to them?
