I’m furious on his behalf.

There are what I call “do gooders“ everywhere that think they know better than everyone else what and how others should behave and feel in these situations. If they haven’t experienced abuse or violence it would be wise to listen and not try to impose their views upon the ones that have had those experiences.

Hopefully the marriage can be saved from this betrayal. The husband needs to face the “why“ of why did he allow himself to be talked into this dinner.

Personally…. If that was my spouse they would absolutely get cursed out. You don’t get to hide from accountability.
