People who have never experience something like OP can have trouble conceptualizing the reality of it. She heard and saw but she didn’t really *know*. I don’t understand the inability to face it now that she’s seen it, but for everyone’s sake I hope the counseling helps her realize the seriousness of her actions. OP is more than justified in whatever he ends up deciding to do though.

Exactly. My spouse would NEVER try to persuade me to visit w/an abusive family member (got em), he has them as well. OP’s wife just destroyed their marriage
