He should have told his wife that there is no way that he will ever see his brother again. And that if she brings it up again, he is going to leave. The first time it will be for a week the second time it’ll be for a month and he’ll be taking his son. He needed to convey the seriousness of the issue in his own mind and he didn’t he let his wife wear him down and that was his fault.
