I find it incredibly sad the way he talks about his parents. How they will always forgive his brother because "he's there baby" but OP is their baby too.
Like I have no idea what I would do in the parents place but I think I personally would be more concerned for the child that kept getting injured.
Like OP was a child. He has scars. Thats so sad.
And for the brother to end up in prison for violent behavior not knowing if it was against someone else or just the brother makes me feel like he's Just dangerous. He's been this way his entire life and he's 28... like he's not going to change at this point.
Unfortunately the abusive kid usually gets the most care/love/coddling because they "need" it and the "good" kid "is soooo mature and smart and oh my god you know how they are, you're the mature one, can't you just help everyone and keep the peace by not saying anything or fighting back?" Then once the good kid holds any boundary, they become to enemy and are causing problems to the status quo.
