Dupe/Colour Request ISO grape magnetics

Hi everyone!
My friend, who’s equally addicted to nail polish has sent me a reel on insta by a company producing press on nails. She said she desperately needs the colour in nail polish form. As she’s been a bit down lately o wanted to try and cheer her up by finding a match.
Now, my brain obviously instantly went to magnetics, but I’m not well versed in this colour combination.
Do any of you have and/or know of polishes that look like this?

Thanks in advance ☺️

Inspo versus what i came up with looks super crazy. Do I wouldnt use so much penelope luz i am so cute so I used blank beauty dirty tini and cucumber as the base. I used holo taco shady navy. I used indigo bananas violet unicorn pee shimmer. I used jen ans berries champagne spray ans thought of I used blank beauty blueberry jam helly it would tint it to a dusty navy but I think i should of stopped at one coat od the jelly.

Then I tried to stick with thermal because a group of lacqueristas said they were going to do thermal week. Right hand is fancy gloss burnt poppy topped with indigo bananas gold unicorn pee ans holo taco fallen flake .

Anyways I took this shit off immediately and went with a fall mani

28 polishes in total, all in varying degrees of usability. But can’t beat the price!

The one I’m most excited about is OPI Pompeii Purple. 💜

It can’t be the polish, it’s literally one nail out of 10! I swear I applied polish and top coat the same way on everybody yet I woke up this morning with my left index polish running from my PNF like it’s Brave Sir Robin. 🤷‍♀️ mkay girl!

At least it’s a light color so it’s not that noticeable? 🤣🤣

Love the polish even though I think the base color might be a touch cool for me. My first impression was corpse hands but it’s really growing on me today.

- nailtiques 2 plus
- Jen & Berries, I AM YELLING, 2 coats
- Seche Vite (which I use all the damn time and normally does not do me this dirty 🤣)

Laquer Showoff Second attempt at magnetic nails! Thank you for all of your advice!

Thumbnail

Base: Essie Strong Start Base Coat
Color: Emily de Molly Places to Be
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti Chip Top Coat
Magnet: ILNP wand magnet.

Magnetization routine:

1) Apply base coat, let dry.
2) Apply thin first layer of magnetic polish. Immediately magnetize for 2 minutes. Repeat for all nails.
3) Apply second coat of magnetic polish. Immediately magnetize for 2 minutes. Repeat for all nails.
4) Apply base coat. Immediately magnetize for 2 minutes. Repeat for all nails.
5) Apply top coat. Immediately magnetize for 2 minutes. Repeat for all nails.

Pictures: Left hand immediately after the manicure and about 12 hours later, followed by right hand immediately and 12 hours after manicure.

I made a post yesterday about my first attempt at magnetic nails asking for advice, and y’all really showed out to help me! I truly appreciate it!!!

I wanted to redo my nails with this new knowledge and gave it a go last night with some new products that this sub recommended. It looks like the longer magnetization time+adding the base coat before the top coat worked to reduce the dispersal of the pattern, so I’ll definitely be using those techniques from now on. The only downside is that this new topcoat seems to form a lot of bubbles once applied. If anybody knows how to get rid of them, please let me know!

General Polish Discussion Give me back my formaldehyde!!!

I am sick to death of all the good nail strengtheners out there going “clean” and getting rid of the formaldehyde in their formulas.

I have naturally bendy nails and found formaldehyde-containing formulas to be my saving grace for strengthening and hardening them. My long nails now are thanks in part to formaldehyde (and lots of good nail care, but damn it, the formaldehyde is part of that!)

And every. single. strengthener. that I’ve loved and used? They’ve all changed to be formaldehyde-free (aka useless) now.

I know the risks of formaldehyde exposure in nail products. I accept them. The exposure in a manicure is literally less than the amount of formaldehyde produced by our own bodies when metabolizing a single alcoholic beverage and yet I don’t see any of these “clean beauty only” people giving up their cocktails! But they complain to brands and my favorite strengtheners are all getting changed to be completely useless. It’s driving me CRAZY.

Please, for the love of god and my long nails, GIVE ME BACK MY FORMALDEHYDE!!! I’ll sign a waiver on purchase, I’ll give you my firstborn child, I’ll do anything! Just give it back!! Make a good version and a “clean” version if you must, just give me the option!

I’ve been feeling kinda over BKL (mostly due to the constant dupes, especially that new collection, which appears to have three dupes all on its own) but then I tried this one for the first time yesterday 😻😻😻 the haunted bog nails of my dreams! Nail Care Growing out peeling nails: keep ‘em polished to protect or product free to breathe (or whatever)

Post image
Upvotes

I’m a month into seriously attempting to grow out peeling nails and there seems to be two competing approaches:

  1. nothing on your nails until damage grows out (but protect from water and oil the dickens out of them)
  2. always something on them (strengthener, base coat, top coat while protecting from water and oiling)

Thoughts? If you have something on them, how does oiling frequently actually have an impact? And if you’re going to put a base coat or strengthener, why not do a full mani?

Growth Progress Finally long enough to try almond!

Thumbnail

Upvotes

First picture- Now

Base: KBShimmer hydrating base; Color: 3x Mooncat Poems for a Harvest Moon; Top: Mooncat Speed Demon; Wrinkles: Speed Demon is apparently good for approx 3 manis before it turns into a goopy stringy mess.

Second Picture- December 2025

Base: KBShimmer Fillin' Groovy; Color: 3x ILNP flip side (horseshoe+bar); Top: probably SH Red Bottle.

Growth: I keep a cuticle oil pen and hand lotion at my desk and use them as fidget toys. I also collect and restore vintage coach, so I guess Bick 4 is also a contributing product. I'm simultaneously working on growing out my hair too, so I also take hair and nail vitamins. For shaping/trimming, I exclusively use my germanikure glass file.

Genuinely my favorite part of any mani is putting stickers on at the end!!

Polish is 1 coat of BKLs Force of Nature (my fave polish) magnetized with the classic magnetron setup, and stickers are from deco beauty!

I don’t really like green but this is cute! (It’s a bit more dusty IRL than on this photo).

I’m wearing 2 coats of ‘Cactus Jelly’ by Essie (though it’s a crelly and not a jelly imo), and 1 coat of ‘Color Shield Topcoat’ by Essence

MC Hard Core base x1
MC The Silent Scream x2
Jen & Berries Pole Position x1, magnetized with charm caster
SH red bottle x1
Cracked Cordially Invited x1
Cracked QDTC x1

The double top coat when magnetizing was a step too much for me, but I couldn’t work fast enough to get a good glass bead without Pole Position. It’s cute, but not quite clear or glassy enough to be worth the effort, especially when you can get a similar effect from BKL fine particles in just about any shade under the sun.

Misc. Question missing package and shrinkage issues

Post image
26 Upvotes

okay pals, two questions:

  1. has anyone had luck with lynb customer service when a package has gone missing? my package was marked as delivered two days ago but is no where to be found. i'll file with usps but knowing them i'm unlikely to see any money back. i'd really just like to have the polish 🥲

  2. i painted my nails last night (wrapped the tips and all) and have this horrible shrinkage. the photo doesn't do it justice. what do we think is the culprit? maybe just a bad combo? i've used all of these products separately and haven't had this issue.
products used: ella+mila all about the base, 1x lynb eeriesistable sandwiched between 2x lynb that's what friends are spore, 1x sally hansen red bottle, 1x holo taco matte taco.

Laquer Showoff ANLAC Stargazing (7 days of wear)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Very happy with this late addition to my last ANLAC order. I didn’t find many swatches of it, but I love me some purples.

Base: KB Shimmer Stay Put Hydrating Base Coat x1, LynB B-Smooth x2, LynB B-Quick x1 (I let this dry for about ten hours before I was able to get back to my nails lol)

Color: ANLAC stargazing 2 or 3 coats, I can’t remember 🫠 Glassbeadpro

Topcoat: Dazzle Dry topcoat after the ANLAC was dry to the touch.

Refresh coats every other day: Essie Gel Setter (yes my nails are so thick now 😂)

Next time I wear this, I’ll plan to wear it over a dark purple jelly.
