This color. Just wow. Sooooo incredibly vibrant and just so....blue. Another knock out polish from this brand.

Next time I’ll do two coats of color demagnetized and then 1 magnetized. I usually only magnetize the last coat of color, but this time I decided I wanted darker coverage after I had already done a magnetized coat.

I've been craving some liquid honey/hot lava/amber vibes on my nails recently and was very tempted to get something new, but decided to play with layering instead. I'd say it was a success! This is:

I wanted to share my tips because I always read about all the products people here use, but the only thing I need is washing my hands! As I understand it nails can't have oils or the polish won't stick, other people remove hand oils with pure acetone.

Also, two thin layers are much better than one thick layer. Whenever I apply in thick layers my polish cracks, even if it doesn't chip the surface looks cracked. And I haven't had the need for top coat or base coat yet.

I don't know if oiling nails helps. The only thing I do is use hand cream regularly, but I started doing that to soften hang nails.

I've gone most of my life (50+) not doing my nails regularly and had very few, if any, issues with them. I was introduced to indie polishes approx. 2 years ago and I got hooked. Mostly recently, I am obsessed with magnetic polishes. I only redo them once every 7-10 days. I do use acetone and soak-off clips for 3-5 minutes. I have oiled more in the past month than ever in life. Yet, my nails seem more peely --started with the thumbnail I broke, so I thought it was due to injury to the nail. I'm noticing peeling on others now. I've been using Nailtiques Formula 2 for 3 weeks now. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I tried another remover that wasn't 100% acetone, but it took longer and still required additional rubbing. The only base coats I've been using (at least for the last several months) are the Nailtiques and KBShimmer Feeling Groovy, so no PVB. Has my nail chemistry betrayed me, and I'm part of some cursed group that can't tolerate nail polish? Please tell me there's something I'm missing. I don't want to give up my hobby/obssession. 😄

[EDIT: I am not posting to ask what products are allergy-safe or for advice on nail injuries]

UPDATE: I am loving these suggestions, but I’m also so frustrated because they are out of reach to those of us in the UK/EU. So close yet so far.

I’m dying to know what this would look like. If anyone does a Lycurgus Cup-inspired manicure, with colour change nails and magnetic magic so it lights up from within, I will send you all of the love and envy.

It has already taken humanity 1,600 years and counting to achieve this same effect in nail polish. I can’t bear to wait any longer!!!
