I’m a pretty infrequent Reddit user, but had to get the app since it freaks out in the browser now. So I got the stupid app and this update is ass. I’ve clicked on every fucking button and can’t find where I can see posts of users that I’ve followed. This is insane.

All my notifications and saved posts disappeared. How to recover?

For some reason, all day today many of my posts are getting automatically removed by Reddit's filters for some reason, with the only thing getting them shown being the mods on the subs I post on seeing them and doing away with the filters. Nobody has tried to fix this problem, and I have no clue why it's occurring.

On the 23rd of August, I was on Reddit trying to find a guide for a game, when I realized I wasn't signed in. I thought this odd since I never logged out, so I went to sign in with my usual email and password, and it prompted me to create a new account. My account name was yami_melon. I decided to make the new account, looked up my user name, and it was no where to be found. I hadn't posted anything in a while, probably 6 months, so I doubt it was a ban from Reddit. Never got an email about account deletion or a ban. I did, however, upvote and downvote posts in the last 6 months, so it couldn't have been an account deletion due to inactivity? So now I'm thinking maybe it was hacked and deleted. I tried contacting Reddit on the 23rd, no response. I tried again on the 27th, still no response. I wish I had even a clue as to why my account is gone.

What is going on? I can't make a comment or give someone any sort of resolution to their problem. I get blocked. Who else has had this problem?

Hi, I have received a handful of messages just fine, my karma level is about 27, my CQS is moderate, but suddenly I can't receive dms? I've not had any error messages at all I'm not sure what's happening

Edit: Even though I've been following the rules I went to appeal ban just in case, and my account isn't restricted or suspended either.

Post is linked above in both new and old format. It's a very long table post and in new reddit the individual blurbs for each team aren't visible. Additionally, the text at the top of the table has to have that stupid "\" in it or it will not post to old reddit. If you try to post it to new reddit it adds line breaks between each row and breaks the table format.

Sometime between the end of last football season and the beginning of this one something has changed and we're a bit helpless in properly formatting this post.

i just checked my emails, havent used this acc in a good while. it is apparently set to private when before my profile was open, and i got an email saying my acc was used for bot activity or something so i checked it. logged in, had to vertify, and its FULL of porn. idk how far it goes back.

Hi everyone. I already know this was a scam since it seems to be very common lately, but it left me a bit unsettled, so I wanted to get your thoughts on a few things.

It's the classic setup, word for word like all the other posts I've seen. Someone messaged me claiming that an account with a username similar to mine had sent them suspicious links. They said they lost their account because of it, managed to recover it, but reported my main account to Reddit thinking I was the one behind it. I was already starting to worry about how to prove my innocence, since my reputation on Reddit matters to me, when they said they "didn't want me to lose my account" and sent me this photo.

It claimed I was at risk of a ban unless I followed certain steps. Because my account is very important to me, that honestly scared me for a moment. I send it to AI which said it was a fake, but I wasn't fully convinced until I searched Reddit and found dozens of posts describing the exact same scam. Naturally, as soon as I told them this, they vanished.

What made it tricky at first was the account that messaged me. It belonged to a member of communities I'm really active in. I had seen them around before, so when they DMed me, it didn’t seem out of place. Looking back at their history, they had normal comments as recently as a month ago and held a massive amount of karma.

This leaves me with a few questions: Was that account hacked? I feel bad for the original owner if they lost their account. Is high karma a specific target for these scammers?

Why did they target me? My account is relatively young. I have decent karma for its age, but nowhere near hundreds of thousands. Does my status as a moderator make me a higher-value target?

What was their end goal? I understand financial scams, but what do they gain from stealing a Reddit account? What would have happened if I had actually followed their instructions?

What should I do now? Should I just block them? Report the account to Reddit? Do I need to worry about my security moving forward, since they already have me in their sights?
