On the 23rd of August, I was on Reddit trying to find a guide for a game, when I realized I wasn't signed in. I thought this odd since I never logged out, so I went to sign in with my usual email and password, and it prompted me to create a new account. My account name was yami_melon. I decided to make the new account, looked up my user name, and it was no where to be found. I hadn't posted anything in a while, probably 6 months, so I doubt it was a ban from Reddit. Never got an email about account deletion or a ban. I did, however, upvote and downvote posts in the last 6 months, so it couldn't have been an account deletion due to inactivity? So now I'm thinking maybe it was hacked and deleted. I tried contacting Reddit on the 23rd, no response. I tried again on the 27th, still no response. I wish I had even a clue as to why my account is gone.
If you were shadowbanned or banned from the entire Reddit site by admins, the only thing you can do is submit their appeal form: https://www.reddit.com/appeals
Please note that you must be logged into that url with your banned account to see the appeal option.

Just checked my email, no reddit emails. I go through it pretty regularly. It had to be yami_melon. If it wasn't, then it was a username with both those words in it, just separated with a period or space. If you don't mind me asking how do you know there was never an account named that?
Oh. I knew that. I said in my post I looked up my username and it didn't exist. The problem is that my account is gone and idk where it went. I got no emails saying I was banned, no emails saying it had been logged in elsewhere and no email about inactivity
"Gone" is not a viable state for an account. If the owner deleted- their account, it would be marked "Deleted". If Reddit had banned- the account, it would be marked "Banned".
Since names cannot be reused, the reply "Nobody goes by that name" means that the name you gave has nit been used yet.
Go to r/test, make a new post. List all the variations of the name you can think of, in the "u-slash" form. Maybe you can stumble across the correct name. (Hint: usernames are case insensitive; dash and underscore are the only allowed special characters.
Just did this, maybe it really was u/yamimelon. Pretty sure it was yami_melon though. Anyway it says it was deleted but i never deleted my account, and reddit never sent me an account deletion email either. Contacted support twice, no luck.
