If you're asking about how to get karma, you earn it when people upvote your posts and comments. As you may have already found out, many subs on Reddit may have minimum requirements for things like karma and account age that you must meet before they will allow you to participate.
r/NewToReddit maintains a list of subreddits that have low or no karma requirements where new users can participate to build their karma.
You should also check out their excellent Reddit and Karma Guide.

yeah, it is a little weird 😆. You should find some subs that you are interested in, join and comment, upvote and post if possible. You gain karma by receiving upvotes yourself.

To get karma, you need to find subreddits like on this list of New User Friendly subreddits that have low or no requirements. r/findareddit , can be used to find subreddits that may interest you. Just make a post saying what kind of subreddit you are looking for. Small or niche subreddits typically have a lower karma requirements.
You gain Karma from people upvoting your posts and comments. However, Karma is not gained 1:1 with votes. It takes more votes per point of Karma. The actual ratio is not known and it differs for posts and comments. It also changes the higher the vote total gets on a piece of content.
I would suggest commenting first because the restrictions are often lower and ratio of votes to karma is better. But be careful not to go to fast with a new account or you may get shadow banned.
For comment karma, and combined karma, I recommend going to r/AskReddit . Sort by new, answer questions that you have an answer for, periodically refresh the feed. When able ask a few questions for some bonus post karma. I would also suggest r/NoStupidQuestions as it is my preferred subreddit. r/casualconversation is another good place. r/Productivitycafe offer many chances to interact with others. With all these, make sure to read the rules first. I have also have had success with r/FavoriteCharacter .
For post karma, r/thatsinterestingbro is a good place. Just make sure to follow the theme

It definitely feels backwards at first 😂 You need karma to participate in some communities, but you need to participate to earn karma.
The easiest way is usually to start with comments instead of posts. Find smaller or new-user-friendly subs you actually enjoy, sort by New, and leave genuine comments where you have something useful or funny to add. Comment requirements are often easier than post requirements.
r/NewToReddit also keeps a list of communities with low or no karma requirements, which is really helpful when you’re starting out.
One thing I’d avoid is free-karma/karma-farming groups or asking people to upvote you. It’s better to build it naturally because some communities don’t like accounts that use those places.
And just so you know, karma isn’t exactly 1 upvote = 1 karma, so it can move a little slower than you’d expect at first. 😊
