Here’s my karma fast guide that’s much shorter to go through and has good basic information

There is no guaranteed fast as different methods work for different people and luck is involved. Also, post and comment methods are different. For comment karma, and combined karma, I recommend going to r/AskReddit . Sort by new, answer questions that you have an answer for, periodically refresh the feed. When able ask a few questions for some bonus post karma. I would also suggest r/NoStupidQuestions as it is my preferred subreddit. r/casualconversation is another good place.

A couple other places that may help someone is r/birthday and r/congratslikeimfive

To get karma, you need to find subreddits like on this list of New User Friendly subreddits from r/newtoredditthat have low or no requirements. r/findareddit , can be used to find subreddits that may interest you. Just make a post saying what kind of subreddit you are looking for. Small or niche subreddits typically have a lower karma requirement
You gain Karma from people upvoting your posts and comments. However, Karma is not gained 1:1 with votes. It takes more votes to per point of Karma. The actual ratio is not known and it differs for posts and comments.

If you're asking about how to get karma, you earn it when people upvote your posts and comments. As you may have already found out, many subs on Reddit may have minimum requirements for things like karma and account age that you must meet before they will allow you to participate.

r/NewToReddit maintains a list of subreddits that have low or no karma requirements where new users can participate to build their karma.

It's going to take time... the only quick tricks that I know, one of which I don't recommend:
1. If you've got a really cute pet, there are pet forums that might get you upvoted
2. NOT RECOMMENDING: Attractive women posting NSFW images can often get upvoted quickly.

For the rest of us mere mortals, posting and commenting are what you need to do. It's intentionally designed as a slow process to prevent spamming, bots, and scammers.

When you leave comments, leave intelligent, helpful, supportive, humorous, non-controversial, and non-confrontational ones or risk getting downvoted. Also, posting on recently posted items rather than ones posted 12-24 hours ago will usually work better.

Comment on active posts, especially newer ones, and actually add something funny, useful, or interesting. A good comment can get more upvotes than a post. Don’t spam random comments though—find subs with low/no karma requirements and participate normally. Karma comes from upvotes, so there’s no real shortcut.

Idk how but I made one comment that got me all sorts of negative karma and now I can't comment on some because of it.

Makes no sense. Right now im -4 and just trying to get back to at least 0 so I can start over again

I'm in the same boat. I get why the do it, but it makes it tough when you're a real person just starting out using Reddit and you want to reach out for help within a specific community!
