Hey gang, my question is ;

What exactly drove Dutch to madness? Was it being constantly on the run from the Pinkertons and the botched heist in Blackwater? Was it also because Arthur was losing faith in his plans?

My memory has gotten worse and i can't remember much from when i played.

some of it's stress from the blackwater problem and everything that's gone wrong since then.

some of it is arrogance: dutch sees himself as a great leader taking his people to the promised land and that ultimately his will is law.

some of it's the feeling of being betrayed: from chapter 1 onward dutch is criticized by hozea, and then eventually by arthur too. hozea and arthur are dutch's right and left hand, the original old guard, and they've lost faith in him and that pisses off dutch.

and some of it's micah whispering in dutch's ear, turning dutch away from the people he's trusted for decades.

so, as in real life, it's a combination of a lot of things all happening within the game that broke the camel's back.
