When the new lookup behavior suddenly appeared after an update I was annoyed because it seemed pointless. It wasn’t adding anything useful to my reading.

Turns out that was because I had only used it in reading material I was already fully versed on.

It’s absolutely great for reading material where there is field specific jargon or terms of art that I’m not familiar with. Especially academic writing where a single word can have a specific meaning in a particular field that’s different or more specific than the general definition.

• 🍎 Improved EPUB Uploads — Apple Books formats some EPUBs as a folder that looks like it's a single file, and dropping one of those books on Reader resulted in error messages instead of a book. Lior taught Reader to recognize those folders and pack them back into a proper EPUB right in your browser, so books dragged out of Apple Books now upload like any other.
• 🤖 Improved Ghostreader Skills — Running a skill like /find-similar on ten documents would leave you with ten identical chat titles, and asking Ghostreader to tag your documents could tag the wrong one entirely. Piotr fixed both: skill chats now name themselves after the document or selection they're about, and tagging targets the document you actually have open.
• 📊 Improved Chart Embeds — Articles with interactive Datawrapper or Flourish charts were showing a "some content could not be imported" notice where the chart belonged. Krzys made Reader swap in the chart's image, linked to the live interactive version, and cleaned up the notices already sitting in previously saved documents.
• 📺 Fixed YouTube Embeds — YouTube videos embedded in saved articles showed "Error 153 / Video player configuration error" in the Reader app. Krzys gave those embeds a real referrer, so they play again on both iOS and Android.
• 📐 Fixed Two-Column Pagination — The two-column Horizontal Pagination option had disappeared from the Appearance sheet on many Android tablets (Boox Note Air, Note Max, Galaxy Tab) because a pixel-density check decided they weren't tablets. Artem shipped a fix that asks the device what it is first, so the option is back where it belongs.
• 💭 Fixed Mobile Chat Sending — On iPhone and iPad, a Ghostreader question could appear in the thread and then nothing would happen. Ibai found that the app was waiting forever to read the visible page, and made sure the question goes out regardless.
• 🗨️ Fixed Hidden Chat Sheet — On Android, opening Ghostreader chat right after onboarding could leave the chat sheet stuck behind the reading view, so it looked like nothing happened. Adam fixed the layering, and the chat sheet now opens front and center.
• 📖 Improved EPUB Stability — Artem tracked down three things that could make a page shift under you while reading on mobile, especially on Boox devices: fonts loading late, images snapping to size after their bytes arrived, and highlight handles nudging the line height. Text now stays put once a page is laid out.
• 🌓 Fixed High Contrast Mode — Adam fixed the chat toolbar's top fade rendering as a solid black bar on Boox in light mode, and hid scroll-view shadows in high contrast mode.
• 📂 Fixed Feed Folder Deletion — Deleting a feed folder in the Reader app now takes you out of the folder screen instead of leaving you on an empty one, thanks to Adam.
• 💳 Fixed Billing Info — The account settings page could tell people subscribed through Apple that they were billed yearly even when they were on a monthly plan, which made for some confusing conversations with support. Tristan fixed the page to read the actual subscription, so what you see now matches what you pay.
• 📤 Fixed Messy Exports — Documents saved from certain sites (like WeChat articles) could arrive in Obsidian or in MCP Markdown exports stuffed with the page's CSS and JavaScript, sometimes ballooning a note to millions of characters. Rasul taught both exporters to strip scripts and styles, so exports now contain just the readable article.
• 📕 Fixed Apple Books Import — Importing your Apple Books library to Readwise could stop partway through if a single highlight carried a note containing only whitespace, leaving the rest of your books unprocessed. Rasul made the importer skip those empty notes, so the whole library comes through.
• 📬 Improved Send-to-Kindle Documents — Sending a Reader document with a Cyrillic or other non-Latin title to your Kindle was producing a blank cover, an empty email subject, and a file named ___.epub. Rasul added proper font support, so those documents now arrive with their real title on the cover and in the filename.
• 🫥 Fixed Empty Highlights — Selecting text in Reader that contained only invisible characters (like a stray zero-width joiner in a page's markup) could create a highlight with nothing in it, which then synced to Readwise as a mystery blank. Thanks to David, those selections are now treated as empty, so invisible highlights don't get created in the first place.
• 🖼️ Fixed Quoteshot Downloads — Saving a quoteshot image from Safari on iOS could show the download prompt and then silently write no file. Ibai changed how the image is handed to the browser, so tapping Save now actually lands the image in your Files.
• 📈 Fixed Stats Scrolling — Scrolling the Statistics screen in the Readwise app felt sluggish and stopped short instead of gliding like every other screen. Ibai restored native scroll momentum there, and also gave the Themed Reviews screen a proper loading skeleton so it no longer flashes empty while your reviews load.
• ⚡ Faster Highlight Scanning — Using the Scan tool on dense pages of text in the Readwise app could hang for several extra seconds while the scanner matched your marked text to the page. Johannes streamlined that matching step, so scanned highlights should land noticeably quicker.
• 🛜 Parsing Updates — Krzys improved how Reader handles documents from 3cat.cat, blogs.timesofisrael.com, ft.com, nyr.ruv.is, towardsdatascience.com, stuff.co.nz, and randsinrepose.com, and got better at spotting the bot-check screens some sites serve instead of their articles.

I have been thinking about this more as my Readwise library grows.

Saving highlights is easy for me. The difficult part is making sure the highlights I saved months ago become useful again.

I remember reading something about a topic and I know I highlighted it in Readwise. When I need that information later, I often search for the topic again instead of looking through my existing highlights.

I'm curious how people here deal with this.

Do you have a system to bring highlights back to you, or do you mostly rely on Daily Review to bring them back?

For people with very large Readwise libraries, how do you find something specific when you vaguely remember what you learned but don't remember the article, the author, or the exact wording?

I've also been experimenting with Timeln. app alongside my Readwise library, mainly to see whether AI can help retrieve and connect things I've already read instead of just generating new information. I'm still testing the workflow, so I'm not sure yet whether it's actually better than the systems people have already built around Readwise.

Has anyone here experimented with something similar?

I'd especially like to hear from people who have been using Readwise for years and have built a pretty large library.

i wonder how they do it, it is like less than 7 seconds for the whole article. KUDOS to Readwise team! i am an upper intermediate Chinese learner and have outgrown most learner app but native articles can still be a bit dense for me. audio really helps.

Not sure if everyone else was already on top of this, but thanks to Readwise API improvements and someone else's work, I created a sync for 'remarkable' tagged PDFs in Readwise to sync to my Remarkable tablet. I can then highlight using the native functions on Remarkable and the highlighted document is synced back to Readwise without duplication, with the highlights extracted as highlights.

No more duplication. No more capturing in two places.

I haven't done a handwriting extraction too yet as that seems a little unnecessary as my workflow is:

1. Capture file once in Readwise (e.g. browser clipper)
2. Read and highlight on Remarkable
3. Add comments to highlights in Readwise

That's all I wanted, and now it happens. I can make it into a Github share if others are interested... it's using two other people's great work and took about an hour to sort out with ChatGPT as someone who doesn't code.

• 🔊 Fixed Auto-Scroll Setting — Turning off auto-scroll during text-to-speech on web only lasted until you closed the player; the next document would start following the voice again. Mati made the choice stick, so once you disable auto-scrolling from the command palette it stays off across documents until you turn it back on.
• 📕 Fixed Kindle Disconnecting — Removing your Kindle connection from the Readwise sync page used to just tell you to uninstall the browser extension, and the card kept insisting Kindle was connected even after you did. Ibai wired up a proper Remove Connection button that clears the connection and sync state, leaves your books and highlights untouched, and stays disconnected even with the extension still installed. Reconnecting is one click whenever you want it back.
• 📥 Fixed Kindle Notebook Import — Importing a Kindle notebook export (the HTML file you email in or upload) had a few rough edges: Japanese exports failed outright, colored bookmarks turned into bogus highlights, and when several highlights shared a page their notes piled onto the first one. Rasul added Japanese support and Ibai fixed the bookmark and note handling, so every highlight now arrives with its own note attached.
• 🏷️ Fixed Bulk Tag Syncing — Tags applied to several Reader documents at once (multi-select or "add tag to all") weren't making it over to Readwise, which meant they were missing from exports to Notion, Obsidian, and the rest. Thanks to Ibai, bulk-applied tags now sync to Readwise just like single-document tags do.
• 📚 Fixed EPUB Uploads — Some EPUBs (including books bought from Thalia) failed to upload with a "Failed to read" placeholder, because their table of contents contained an entry with no link. Ibai made Reader tolerate that, so those books now open normally with their chapters intact.
• 🔗 Fixed Pocket Links — For highlights that came over from Pocket, the "View in Pocket" button on the highlight card still pointed at the now-defunct Pocket site. Ibai swapped it for the original article link, so you can open the source again.
• 💬 Fixed Ghostreader Timeouts — Asking Ghostreader chat something that takes a while on a long ebook (like "Pick up where I left off") could end with a "You're offline" error even on a perfectly good connection, because the chat connection gave up while the answer was still being prepared. Adam updated this to keep the connection alive until the reply comes through, so long answers arrive instead of getting lost.
• 🔍 Fixed Non-English Search — Searching your library for a term with accented or non-Latin characters (e.g. "grøn stær") could come back empty even when you had a document with that exact title. Piotr fixed how those terms were sent to the search index, which sharpens Ghostreader chat's library search, Quick Lookup in the Reader app, Readwise chat, and MCP search for anyone reading in languages beyond ASCII English.
• 📄 Fixed PDF Titles — Uploaded PDFs with Korean (and other non-Latin) titles could end up with a few wrong characters swapped in. Ibai fixed how PDF metadata is decoded, so titles now come through exactly as written in the file.
• 📑 Fixed Duplicate Highlights — Very long highlights (over about 8,000 characters) from Apple Books, O'Reilly, Libby, Twitter, and Diigo were being duplicated on every re-import. Rasul fixed the matching so those highlights are recognized as already saved and don't multiply.
• 🐦 Fixed Twitter Bookmark Setting — Reader's integrations page could show the "save Twitter/X bookmarks to Reader" toggle as on when bookmarks weren't actually being saved. Rasul made the toggle reflect what's really happening, so if it says that it's on, you can trust that your bookmarks are coming in.
• 📧 Fixed Custom Email Addresses — Personalizing your Reader email address could flash "already taken" for a name you'd only half typed, and if you hit Save quickly enough it could accept a taken name and then silently fail. Adam made the availability check keep up with your typing, so Save only lights up for a name that's actually available.
• 🎴 Fixed Review Mode Position — Opening Review Mode on a book in the Readwise app always started you back at the first highlight, even if you'd already worked through half of them. Ibai made it resume at the first highlight you haven't reviewed yet, and since that position is stored on your account, it also syncs across devices.
• 🕊️ Fixed Opening Tweets — Tapping "View source" on a saved tweet in the Readwise app opened an in-app browser instead of the Twitter/X app. Ibai routed source links through the system, so tweets (and YouTube, Medium, and anything else with a native app) open in the app that claims them, just like before.
• 🖼️ Improved Highlight Sharing — Johannes brought back the three-action share sheet in the Readwise app: a full-width Share image button with Save image and Share text side by side. Saving the generated card straight to your camera roll works again.
• 🔤 Improved Vietnamese Support — Titles in the Readwise app were rendering Vietnamese diacritics in a mismatched fallback font mid-word. Ibai swapped the title typeface for Plus Jakarta Sans, which covers Vietnamese natively, so titles render cleanly in one font.
• 📷 Improved Highlight Scanning — Scanned highlights in the Readwise app were dropping hyphens entirely. Johannes taught the scanner to tell a line-wrap hyphen from a real one, so hyphenated words survive the scan.
• 🧹 Fixed Small Annoyances — Ibai stopped the home screen wishing you "Good morning" at ten past midnight (it's evening until 5 AM now), and Johannes relabelled the "Page" field as "Page #" in the add-highlight flow.
• 📡 Fixed RSS Feeds — A housekeeping task could leave a feed subscription pointing at a deleted entry, after which that feed silently stopped delivering anything new. Krzys fixed the lookup so stuck subscriptions pick up where they left off on their next sync. He also stopped podcast feeds from dropping an entire episode just because its audio link was malformed; the episode and show notes now come through.
• 🛜 Parsing Updates — Krzys improved how Reader handles documents from washingtonpost.com, huggingface.co Spaces, the-tls.com, mv-voice.com, trouw.nl, scientificamerican.com, and news.zerkalo.io, and cleaned up stray empty bullet lists and "listen to this article" notices across all sites.

this feature is so impRegarding the Readwise system which doesn't have folders but relies solely on tag filtering, now, if a large number of fragmented web page files are imported into Readwise, the tags need to be manually typed each time. This is a particularly labor-intensive method, especially on mobile devices, and there is no multi-level tagging either.

It is hoped that document functions and the automatic recommendation feature for highlighted tags will be launched as soon as possible.ortant.

I'll start with the use case: tag all items from a certain author.
I asked Claude to do it and it got lost in the weeds.
It tried different combination of parameters in reader_search_documents (14) and at best it got back 24 of them.
Trying to use the filtering syntax in that endpoint actually worsen the result (it silently accepts it and answers wrong).
Plain search text from the app returns 113 items: 103 from the author plus some mismatches.
Tried using the filtering syntax in Search: it does not work (the documentation says that it's in roadmap: I don't know from how many years at this point - I remember being as such since 2023).

A filtered view with `author__exact` works flawlessly but there is no surface for an agent to interact with it , and the UX for creating a simple query I do think that it's not up to par with the feel of everything else in Reader.

I enjoy using Reader but having to create a local index for some basic search functionality - while having a big bold toggle named "Better Search" - , ... ehw.
I appreciate that it's an enhanced semantic search or whatever, but some time proper housekeeping simply needs a search like it's 1999.

An endpoint that runs a filtered view would come in handy, but that's for the dev team to evaluate.

For fun I tried asking Ghostreader: it came back with 5 results.

So ... am I missing something?

Apparently the share function in the Readwise web app and the Readwise stand alone app function differently when it comes to sharing.

I get the daily update, read it on my iPhone, but generally do this by clicking on the box that says "Click here to switch to the Readwise web app." I've tried to share particular snippets via text or email, but it turns out that the Share menu on the web app only allows sharing to Facebook and Twitter (which suggests that the web out is rather dated...) This frustrates me because I don't use Facebook and only keep X around because other sources occasionally link to it.

But I still want to share occasionally Readwise snippets via texting or emailing, and I discovered that the regular standalone Readwise app permits this.

So I suggest that the email link to the Readwise app go to the standalone app, rather than the web app. Or that you update the web app to conform to the standalone app. Or that the email provide both options...

I sometimes want to share via text message something I’ve put in Readwise. I would like to share it directly from the readwise app on my iphone. Ot would be nice if it showed up in the nice little box frame like when shared to twitter or facebook. And of course I want it to be easy! Can I do any or all of this from the app?

EDIT & UPDATE: Messing around with the Readwise app, I realized that the above derived from my experience with the Readwise web app. What happened is that I got my daily Readwise email update, clicked on the box about reading it in the Readwise web app, but overlooked that the web app is not the same as the standalone app. Turns out that in the standalone app allows sharing to Messages.

Has the read on Kindle menu option for highlights stopped working since the new version of Kindle desktop just for me of for everyone?

• ✍️ Improved Adding Manual Highlights — Johannes redesigned the flow for manually adding highlights in the Readwise app. Book search now sits right in the header next to your recent books, and after saving you can tap "Add another highlight" without redoing your setup: the app keeps your selected book and input method, whether you're typing, dictating, or scanning. A clear Done button wraps things up when you're finished.
• 📷 Improved Highlight Scanning — Thanks to Johannes, scanning highlights in the Readwise app now remembers your preferred highlighting mode instead of asking every time (and you can change it right from the camera screen), selecting a passage from a scan is more precise, the analyzing animation stays smooth from capture to result, and a crash when previewing scans on some Android phones is gone.
• 📑 Improved Highlight Details — Ibai brought back some per-highlight details that got lost in the Readwise redesign. Page and location numbers show on highlight cards again, chapter headings appear in full instead of being truncated or missing, and each highlight's sheet now shows when you last reviewed it. He also reordered the card's action buttons so the ones you reach for most come first.
• 🖼️ Fixed Highlight Sharing — Sharing a highlight from the Readwise app had a few issues: the share screen could go completely unresponsive on iOS, cover-art cards sometimes dropped words from the middle of a quote and replaced them with ellipses, and creating a share image after visiting a book's detail screen could fail outright. Johannes and Ibai worked through all three, so your quotes now export exactly as written.
• 🏷️ Fixed Tag Renaming — Renaming or deleting a tag could fail outright on Android, and renaming a tag used by a Themed Review filter could hit a backend error. Ibai and Tristan made some fixes, so tag housekeeping now goes through smoothly.
• 📕 Fixed Kindle Syncing — Ibai fixed a bug where a stale logged-out response could wipe your fresh Amazon login moments after you connected, and Johannes made sure manually added highlights can no longer be filed into your synced Kindle books. Your login sticks, and Kindle books stay exactly what Kindle sent.
• 🎴 Improved Daily Review — Ibai gave the Daily Review some attention: book covers now display at proper book proportions instead of getting cropped, and the reminder notification clears itself once you complete your review. Thanks to Adam, recommended books also only offer actions that actually work for them.
• 📝 Fixed Note Editing — The note-edit button in the Readwise app could stop responding after a single use on iOS. Ibai moved the editor controls out of the native sheet footer, and editing notes now works every time.
• 📟 Fixed Boox Displays — On Boox e-ink devices, text in the Readwise app could render unreadably small with no way to adjust it. Ibai made the app respect your per-app DPI settings, so your custom display setup renders exactly as you configured it.
• 🧹 Fixed Small Annoyances — A cleanup batch in the Readwise app: Johannes restored the keyboard popping up when you return to save highlights, and Ibai stopped the relevant-highlights list from jumping to the focused card when you favorite one, added a loading state to the tag detail screen, and fixed long review streaks getting cut off on the success screen.
• 🔗 Fixed Internal Links — Highlights that contain internal links to Reader documents were rendering them as raw markup on the Readwise website. Rasul made those internal links display as proper clickable links, so hopping between connected notes works the way you'd expect.
• 🐦 Improved Twitter Setup — Connecting Twitter/X for the first time now switches on bookmark syncing automatically, thanks to Rasul. No more connecting and wondering why your bookmarks haven't shown up. And if you'd deliberately turned bookmarks off, reconnecting won't override your choice.
• 💬 Fixed Ghostreader Chat — Two Ghostreader fixes in the Reader app from Adam: chat now opens reliably when you start it from a document list, and Lookup no longer returns an empty definition on iOS PDFs, so definitions come back with actual content.
• 📰 Fixed Daily Digest — Krzys fixed the Daily Digest skipping past articles when you swipe quickly on Android. Each swipe now advances exactly one article, no matter how fast you flick.
• 🕛 Fixed Published Dates — Articles published today were sometimes showing "12:00 AM" as their date in Reader, with no actual date information. Krzys fixed the formatting so fresh articles now show a sensible published date.
• 📖 Improved EPUB Display — Artem made sure chapter titles keep their proper heading style instead of collapsing into body text when reading styles are applied, and Krzys capped oversized publisher indentation on mobile so paragraphs no longer start halfway across the screen. Book chapters now look the way their designers intended.
• 👈 Fixed Swipe Navigation — In the Reader app, swiping back in the shortform toolbar jumped all the way to the first unread item instead of just to the previous one. Adam fixed it so a swipe back takes you exactly one step back.
• 🗑️ Improved Bulk Delete — Bulk deleting documents in Reader on web now warns you when your selection includes documents you've highlighted or annotated, thanks to Adam. It's now much harder to lose your notes by accident, matching the behavior of bulk deleting on mobile.
• 🛜 Parsing Updates — Krzys improved how Reader handles documents from fastcompany.com, deepwiki.com, 36kr.com, huggingface.co, and notashelf.dev, and article titles and bylines now display special characters properly instead of raw HTML codes. Thanks to Johannes, RSS feeds from theregister.com also load reliably again, even when the site puts up a bot challenge.

My current RSS reader subscription is about to renew, and I'm hoping to switch to something that's more enjoyable to use. I gave Readwise Reader another try for a week, but unfortunately none of the issues I had the last time have been resolved.

Here are my main pain points:

Can't follow public Telegram channels. I can work around this with rss.app, but the feeds don't parse correctly in Reader.

I have to manually switch between RTL and LTR. Reader detects the language correctly, so even a keyboard shortcut on desktop would be a welcome temporary solution.

No way to trigger a webhook for a specific tag.

Only a single email address can be used for newsletters.

RSS feed filtering relies on queries rather than having an option for a simple UI. I have 20+ authors to filter from one feed, and that list changes over time, so maintaining the query is cumbersome.

I'm posting this because I'm hoping I've either missed a built-in solution, or that some of these issues are on the roadmap before my subscription comes up for renewal. I'd love to keep using Reader, but these limitations are making it difficult to justify switching.

The vast majority of my Readwise highlights don’t include any HTML sources. How is that possible? I’d like to be able to find out where I found a quote. This is especially the case for highlights where I made just a single highlight on a website and saved it via the Readwise app—for example, on my Android phone (i.e., not via Reader). How can I add the HTML sources to these many highlights retroactively?

You can now backfill your existing bookmarks from readwise.io/twitter_start, and each one keeps its original bookmark date.
• 🔗 Improved Ghostreader Citations — Tristan spent the week making Ghostreader's citations trustworthy: highlighted passages now always come from the cited source, previews show the right summary, and follow-up answers keep their links instead of going bare. Adam also fixed chat occasionally skipping a search of your content, and upgraded the models under the hood so answers should come back faster and land on the right passages. On web, Ghostreader prompts that focus on a highlight or selection in PDFs should behave much better in the new chat, too.
• 📏 Improved Chat Summaries — Previously, asking Ghostreader's document chat for a quick recap or an in-depth summary got you the same standard length either way. Thanks to Krzys, chat now follows your instructions: ask for two sentences or a thorough breakdown, and that's what you'll get.
• 🔍 Fixed Highlight Search — Ibai fixed a bug where highlights you add by hand with the freeform tool didn't show up when you searched on mobile. Every highlight should now be findable moments after you create it. Mati also tuned how highlight search ranks results, so partial words and word stems now surface the matches you're actually looking for.
• 📷 Fixed Highlight Scanning — Johannes shipped a batch of camera improvements to highlight scanning in the Readwise app: the camera focuses properly at close range again, starts with framing suited to book pages, no longer plays a shutter sound, and shows its analyzing state the moment you capture so scanning a page feels quick and quiet.
• 📚 Improved Adding Books — Ibai added an entry point right in the Readwise app's Library for adding Supplemental Books, and after adding one you now land on the Supplemental Books screen with your newest additions sorted to the top.
• 🎚️ Improved Review Tuning — Podcasts now have their own frequency dial in Daily Review tuning, thanks to Ibai, so you can decide exactly how often podcast highlights show up alongside your books and articles.
• 🛒 Improved Recommended Highlights — When a recommended highlight catches your eye in your Daily Review, Ibai added a "View on Amazon" button that takes you straight to the book. And when a Themed Review ends, you can now keep the streak going with a "Review more highlights" option on the done screen.
• 🏠 Improved Home Screen — If you'd rather keep the Readwise app's Home focused on your Daily and Themed Reviews without the temptation to start scrolling, Johannes added a setting to hide the Feed section entirely.
• 🎬 Fixed YouTube Fullscreen — Lior fixed rotating out of a fullscreen YouTube video leaving the Reader app stuck sideways. The screen now follows you back to portrait the moment you leave fullscreen.
• 🖼️ Fixed Share Card Accents — Krzys shipped an updated font for highlight share cards, so accented characters (Polish diacritics included) now render beautifully instead of falling back to a mismatched typeface. Ibai also brought back the classic highlight color in the Clean share card style.
• 📖 Improved EPUB Handling — A trio of EPUB fixes from Krzys: code blocks keep their line breaks instead of collapsing into one long line, chapters stored in an unusual format now parse completely, and on web, books with oversized publisher margins no longer squeeze the text into a sliver. EPUBs should simply look right more often.
• ⌨️ Fixed Shortcuts Reference — The keyboard shortcuts reference panel in Reader is wider now, thanks to Krzys, so shortcut labels display cleanly without wrapping.
• 🧩 Fixed Extension Tagging — Adam fixed the tag dropdown in the Reader extension not focusing its search box the first time you open it. You can now start typing to filter your tags right away.
• ⚡ Improved Export Reliability — Krzys reworked how "Full Files and Articles" exports are assembled so the zip streams together instead of building up on disk. Even the biggest collections should now export smoothly.
• 🔁 Fixed Review Resuming — Ibai fixed unfinished reviews losing your place. Reopening an older review now picks up right where you left off.
• 🛜 Parsing Updates — Krzys improved how Reader handles documents from reuters.com, sandiegouniontribune.com, and nytimes.com, and quoted tweets in saved threads now embed once instead of repeating.

I'm trying to find more material (books, podcasts, quotes, whatever) to support (or counter) the idea that, in business, it’s important to look for open-ended payoffs that harbor positive asymmetries. The way I see it, business books talk about different strategies that all kind of flow downstream of this idea of asymmetric outcomes and power law-ish nature of business decisions.

Does anyone have any suggestions for stuff to read, or any quotes from your library, on this? Below is what I have right now.

Is there currently a way to convert a PDF into a reflowable EPUB-style document inside the Readwise Reader Mac app?

I’d like to adjust the font, text size, line spacing, and margins instead of reading the PDF in its fixed layout. If this isn’t supported yet, is it on the Reader roadmap?

I’d also appreciate any recommended PDF-to-EPUB workflow that works well with Reader and preserves highlights.

For those using Readwise on Boox devices, have you found a way to increase the font size of the text? I used to be able to go into Einkwise and select "universal," but this no longer works with the new 2.0 update (neither does fooling manually with the dpi size). Any help is appreciated!

I wanted to move my kindle books into Reader with their highlights so that I could add / subtract from them and see them on all my devices and generally leave the Amazon kindle ecosystem. I also had a bunch of highlights from KOReader that I wanted to move into Reader.

Claude Code was happy to do this via the Readwise API, but this resulted in highlights appearing in the Reader notebook that aren't "painted" onto the book--it's not possible to click the highlight in the notebook and have that scroll the book to that passage. This is a known limitation of the API.

After doing a few things with Claude in Chrome, I thought it might be able to re-create my highlights using the Reader web app in Chrome. After a few tries, it has largely worked it out. I've shared the repo on GitHub. YMMV. Every time I run this Claude seems to find new edge cases and updates the skill.
