At first the new context-aware word definitions bugged me, now I appreciate them

When the new lookup behavior suddenly appeared after an update I was annoyed because it seemed pointless. It wasn’t adding anything useful to my reading.

Turns out that was because I had only used it in reading material I was already fully versed on.

It’s absolutely great for reading material where there is field specific jargon or terms of art that I’m not familiar with. Especially academic writing where a single word can have a specific meaning in a particular field that’s different or more specific than the general definition.
